Thank you Obamacare!

It’s a feature, not a bug. And as expected, the bill that HAD to be passed for us to find out what was in it, serves its master’s true purpose:

United Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News.

The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act’s effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.

Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees.

Get it? The analysts – read Obama WH sycophants – are downplaying the disastrous effects and consequences of a law the democrats rammed down our throats. They have to do that because contrary to the bullshit that Obamacare’s main purpose was to get affordable healthcare to everyone, the real purpose of this monster was to damage and outright destroy as much of the existing private healthcare infrastructure as possible, so people would be left with no choice to let government take over healthcare. With the left it has always been about the single payer system that gives government control of 1/5th of our economy – there is some massive money in healthcare, and these numbers are growing at a phenomenal rate each year – and of the life & death decisions.

Private healthcare involves despicably evil profits, which to moronic collectivists means private insurers are into it to kill people and drink their blood, so let’s have unaccountable government bureaucrats we already know would abuse and misuse the power of government to further the left’s agenda have the power to choose who wins and who loses. Because that’s the only way collectivists think “social justice”, the big bugaboo that allows them to justify anything from indoctrination to mass murder and imprisonment of the serfs, can be meted out, is by government bureaucrat fiat.

Have no doubt that this monstrosity of a law was written to wreck the system. Again, from the article, we get:

According to Kaiser, UPS told white-collar workers two months ago that 15,000 working spouses eligible for coverage by their own employers would be excluded from the UPS plan in 2014.

UPS expects the move, which applies to non-union U.S. workers only, to save about $60 million a year, company spokesman Andy McGowan said.

The health law requires large employers to cover employees and dependent children, but not spouses or domestic partners, Kaiser adds.

Please explain what good such a ludicrous distinction would accomplish other than push for single parent families? That’s another one of the collectivist’s most cherished pillars of the faith. Single parent families tend to need lots of government support, and that means even more control of these sheep. See the pattern yet? This kind of crazy is not accidental, I tell ya.

Anyway, bend over, grab them ankles, and enjoy the shafting you UPS nonunion workers. You don’t have enough clout to ask your donkey buddies for an exclusion, so you are going to feel the pain. Yet another built in feature of the left’s agenda. That these horrible things that are now becoming apparent from this beast are happening could be all coincidental, but that they always seem to directly or indirectly favor those very things that destroy the existing fabric of our society in the way that benefits the big government collectivists the most, statistically speaking, seems to imply design. Destroy what exists so there is no other option seems to always rear its ugly head with these massive “do-good” laws the left straddles us with, but we cannot criticize them because they mean well. Or, at least, they tell us that’s what they meant…

This is sure going to make him hated by the left

Bono sure pissed off the leftist intelligentsia a while back when he pointed out Boosh did more for AIDS than all the talking heads on the left that pretend to care oh, so much, about the gay community. Then he doubled down by saying Boosh did more for Africa in general than all those leftists organizations . Now he is sure to make himself Persona Non Grata with the left by pointing out what is obvious to all of us non leftists: “Capitalism takes more people out of poverty than aid”. From the article;

Just recently drawing upon his Christian faith (and possibly the economics influence of Professor Ayittey?), in a speech at Georgetown University, Bono altered his economic and political views and declared that only capitalism can end poverty.

I guess people can learn, and with age, oft comes wisdom. Bono seems to be one of the few wising up rather than staying in the shallow end of the pool where most of the entertainer types like to remain when it comes to politics and logic. My bet is that Bono just got himself disinvited from a lot of leftist circle jerks by speaking the truth and challenging their dogma. The fact is that handouts never have and never will solve poverty. Oh, it might give the illusion that it helps, and in some rare instances it might be helpful in the immediate sense, but the dependency it creates will sooner than later turn into a big self-perpetuating curse. The data out there is incontrovertible; the handout society just keeps growing and growing, and they demand more and more. But all the pearls being thrown to the swines has not solved poverty. In fact, it looks like it has just perpetuated it and grown the ranks of the poor.

Your average leftist responded to these revelations with the usual drivel about the evils of profit and how government should be the only entity that gets to choose who wins and who loses, because letting hard work and natural talent detemrine that is unfair to them all. That, and how they now hate Bono, as they frantically work to delete any U2 tunes from their mp3 players. Death to those that grow up, realize the real world doesn’t work like the unicorn fart sniffers want to pretend it does, and leave the marxist plantation!

Desperate times call for desperate measures…

Seems like the scandal laden Obama administration is again trying to use some smoke and mirrors to divert attention elsewhere, so for the umpteenth time since he was elected back in 2008, he is pivoting his administration’s focus to the economy. If I am adding the numbers correctly, this latest attempt, which is more of the same nonsense he peddled every time before, is the 19th attempt to get the economy growing. From the article:

WASHINGTON — Seeking to focus public attention on the problem he was sent to the White House to solve, President Barack Obama is making a renewed push for policies to expand the middle class, helping people he says are still treading water years after the financial meltdown.

Obama will use a series of back-to-back speeches over two days to take another stab at selling the public on his vision of a thriving economy.

The first of those speeches comes Wednesday when Obama visits the Midwest to speak at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., where he gave his first major speech as a freshman U.S. senator in 2005 during booming economic times. He is not expected to announce any new initiatives. The president also speaks later in the day at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. The third speech is set for Thursday at the Jacksonville Port Authority in Florida.

The White House is billing Obama’s latest speech at Knox College as a major one, comparable in tone to the commencement address he delivered there eight years ago, also about the economy. Back then he talked about how the country can give every American a “fighting chance” in a 21st century transformed by technology and globalization.

For those of you too illiterate to grasp the nonsense, or wearing the ideological blinders, the message is more of the same top-down collectivist bullshit that has produced nothing but the massive campaign of lies to create the false illusion of economic growth or stability that has plagued us for the last 5 years. What do we have to show for this crap? An annual deficit of a trillion dollars for the last 5 budgets – based on estimates, since we have not had congress produce a budget for the last 4years thanks to obstructionism from Harry Reid – that have tacked the same amount to our national debt. Did I mention that we have not had a budget from congress for the last 4 years? That’s likely so they can hide how much more they are really pissing away. An economy that we are now told would plummet if government stopped borrowing money, printing more money, or sheistering through assorted QE efforts that have devalued the dollar and crippled growth. An economy we have been told for the past 5 years is on the verge of turning the corner, or that has turned the corner, but which is for all intents and purposes jobless. An economy that will be strained even further when Obamacare kicks in, forcing even more employers, including the many in public sector, to shift their reliance to a part-time workforce. And that will happen while they shed health benefits that then will become the purveyance and responsibility of a government that has no compunction spying on law abiding citizens (despite a constitutional protection against said abuse of power), or using that information to target and destroy those they have put an a political enemies list.

My prediction? We will have a whole lot of bloviating – that’s the Obama “I am in a permanent campaigning mode, but can do nothing that solves any real problems SOP – demands for even more government spending and “stimulus”, promises of even more free shit, because as we all know the middle class can’t exist absent free shit given by the democrats, and in the end, if they do anything, it will be enact more onerous and destructive regulation that allow the agents of the state even more power to enforce their ideological and self-serving “picking the winners and loser” strategy, which will only serve to cripple economic stability and growth.

And this “pivot to the economy” will not be the last. Now that there are so many eyes looking at them and aware of how corrupt the political DNC machine is, they will have to find new ways to rig the next election cycle in their favor, and nothing buys votes like tax payer subsidized, free handouts.

Detroit, here comes the rest of the US, right in your footsteps, because nothing says economic growth like crony, government manipulatted, vote buying schemes!

Some real economic and unemployment numbers to help you put our situation into perspective

Mort Zuckerman has an awesome WSJ article about how the claims by the left of an economic recovery are bunk. For years now the LSM and the donkeys have been pretending we have been going through an economic recovery, but that the reason nobody but they saw it as such, was the fact that it was a jobless recovery. Zuckerman takes that idiotic meme apart in this spiffy article. From the article:

In recent months, Americans have heard reports out of Washington and in the media that the economy is looking up—that recovery from the Great Recession is gathering steam. If only it were true. The longest and worst recession since the end of World War II has been marked by the weakest recovery from any U.S. recession in that same period.

The jobless nature of the recovery is particularly unsettling. In June, the government’s Household Survey reported that since the start of the year, the number of people with jobs increased by 753,000—but there are jobs and then there are “jobs.” No fewer than 557,000 of these positions were only part-time. The survey also reported that in June full-time jobs declined by 240,000, while part-time jobs soared by 360,000 and have now reached an all-time high of 28,059,000—three million more part-time positions than when the recession began at the end of 2007.

That’s just for starters. The survey includes part-time workers who want full-time work but can’t get it, as well as those who want to work but have stopped looking. That puts the real unemployment rate for June at 14.3%, up from 13.8% in May.

The 7.6% unemployment figure so common in headlines these days is utterly misleading. An estimated 22 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed; they are virtually invisible and mostly excluded from unemployment calculations that garner headlines.

At this stage of an expansion you would expect the number of part-time jobs to be declining, as companies would be doing more full-time hiring. Not this time. In the long misery of this post-recession period, we have an extraordinary situation: Americans by the millions are in part-time work because there are no other employment opportunities as businesses increase their reliance on independent contractors and part-time, temporary and seasonal employees.

Even the federal government payroll is turning to part-timers: In June 2012, 58,000 federal workers were part-timers. This year it’s 148,000, and we still don’t know how the budget sequester will play out, for many agencies have resorted to furloughs rather than layoffs.

Our economic recovery seems to be generating mostly part time work, which affects many that would prefer full time employment, and the number of people dropped off the rolls that still can’t find employment is so large that the real unemployment number isn’t 7.6%, but a frightening 14.3%. Think about that hard. That’s some scary numbers, and no indication of any kind of economic recovery. As I pointed out before, the unemployment and part-time employment picture is massively impacted by Obamacare. A fact these leftists want to hide from the low information voters, at least until after the 2014 election. But the fact is that things are even worse than they seem. Speaking of those jobs being created, part-time or otherwise, the article says the following:

The latest unemployment report was as underwhelming as the Household Survey. The biggest gains in June came from leisure and hospitality industries, including hotels and fast-food restaurants. Of the 195,000 new payroll jobs, 75,000 were in restaurants and bars, where the average weekly paycheck is about $351, less than half the average for all other private industries. Not to mention that these positions offer fewer hours, especially in the restaurant world, which has averaged 26.1 hours per week versus 34.5 hours for all private employers.

What’s going on? The fundamentals surely reflect the feebleness of the macroeconomic recovery that began roughly four years ago, as seen in an average gross domestic product growth rate annualized over the past 15 quarters at a miserable 2%. That’s the weakest GDP growth since World War II. Over a similar period in previous recessions, growth averaged 4.1%. During the fourth quarter of 2012 and the first quarter of 2013, the GDP growth rate dropped below 2%. This anemic growth is all we have to show for the greatest fiscal and monetary stimuli in 75 years, with fiscal deficits of over 10% of GDP for four consecutive years. The misery is not going to end soon.

Oh, oh. So these jobs being created, in so far as the skillset needed to do them and the ability to earn big pay, are simple service sector jobs too? Low pay, fewer hours, and reduced career opportunities a recovery do not spell. Obamanomics has made our economy the fast food economy. The jobs created seem to all be about asking people if they would like fries with that. Not good. Zuckerman also brings the same concerns I constantly harp on – the cost of Obamacare and the unpredictability of the central planning government agenda the collectivists in charge favor – to the forefront in the article:

ObamaCare is partially to blame. The health-insurance law requires employers with more than 50 workers to provide health insurance or pay a $2,000 penalty per worker. Under the law, a full-time job is defined as 30 hours a week, so businesses, especially smaller ones, have an incentive to bring on more part-time workers.

Little wonder that earlier this month the Obama administration announced it is postponing the employer mandate until 2015, undoubtedly to see if the delay will encourage more full-time hiring. But thousands of small businesses have been capping employment at 30 hours and not hiring more than 50 full-timers, and the businesses are unlikely to suddenly change that approach just because they received a 12-month reprieve.

These businesses’ hesitation to hire is part of a larger caution among employers unsure about the direction of government policy—and which has helped contribute to chronic long-term unemployment that shows no sign of easing. Unlike those who lose a job and then find another one in a matter of weeks or months, fully a third of the currently unemployed have been out of work for more than six months. As they remain out of the workforce, their skills deteriorating, the likelihood rises that they will be seen as permanently unemployable. With each passing month of bleak job news, the possibility increases of a structural unemployment problem in the U.S. such as Europe experienced in the 1980s.

Can’t explain this to people that feel it is their duty to social engineer a better society, however. Leftists seem immune to economic facts, laws, and logic. No matter how often their meddling – be it truly to improve things or, as it practically always is to favor their political and ideological agenda, not to mention pocketbooks, – results in foreseen or unforeseen disasters, they refuse to accept that what they have done and continue to do causes far more harm than even a masochist could envision. Then again, I am not one of those people that believes the left does what it does to improve & expand anything but their hold on power, so the insanity of their meddling makes perfect sense to me. The end coal is a society comprised of the Alphas – the credentialed and leftist elites – and the workers. That’s why their policies are eroding the middle class while the level of lip service from the left about how much it wants to help the middle class keeps climbing. It’s easier to control a society where all are equally poor & miserable, and dependent on government for practically everything. Not to mention that such a society lends itself very well to holding onto power.

But back to the article and its salient point that our supposed recovery is bunk, and that the problem is the policies of the people in charge:

That brings us to a stunning fact about the jobless recovery: The measure of those adults who can work and have jobs, known as the civilian workforce-participation rate, is currently 63.5%—a drop of 2.2% since the recession ended. Such a decline amid a supposedly expanding economy has never happened after previous recessions. Another statistic that underscores why this is such a dysfunctional labor market is that the number of people leaving the workforce during this economic recovery has actually outpaced the number of people finding a new job by a factor of nearly three.

What the country clearly needs are policies that will encourage the modernization of America’s capital stock, where investment in modern production has plunged to the lowest levels in decades. Policies should also be targeted to nourish high-tech industries, which will in turn inspire the design and manufacture of products in the U.S. where they would be closer to the American market, spurring more hiring. This means preparing a skilled workforce, especially engineers suitable to work in manufacturing, and increasing the number of visas available to foreign graduate students in the hard sciences—who are now forced to leave America and who then work for foreign competitors.

Well, DUH! The popularism & envy based ideology of the left appeals well to both low information and credentialed elitist voters, and that’s why it is so successful. Too many people now prefer to give up freedoms for the promise – notice that word, “promise”, because that’s all it is – of protection from consequences of bad decisions and actions. The left’s hatred of profits and those that do things to make profits – unless they are of course leftists which while paying lip service to the dogma ignore the rules they straddle the serfs with, generate obscene amounts of money for themselves and their friends – stymies any and all actions that would actually positively affect employment and economic growth.

The lesson here is that while the social engineers have the upper hand only the well-connected will profit, while the rest of us all lose, and lose big. The class warriors love to pretend that it is those that oppose their policies & agenda that are the enemy of the common man, but that’s one of the most brilliant lies ever sold to a bunch of sheep. It’s not a coincidence that the people making out like bandits in these trying times all are well connect leftist and their friends, while the people they portend to help suffer, and suffer badly.

When even the most progressive entities have to face economic reality…

Man, it must suck when you find out that even the companies with the most progressive and all-encompassing benefit structures have to abandon those policies because what they now are required to do under the disastrous Obamacare law is cost prohibitive. from the article:

The Rochester-based grocer that has been continually lauded for providing health insurance to its part-time workers will no longer offer that benefit.

Until recently, the company voluntarily offered health insurance to employees who worked 20 hours per week or more. Companies are required by law to offer health insurance only to full-time employees who work 30 hours or more per week.

Several Wegmans employees confirmed part-time health benefits had been cut and said the company said the decision was related to changes brought about by the Affordable Care Act.

Get that? The company used to provide healthcare benefits even for part timers, but now it doesn’t anymore. While the article doesn’t elaborate on the reason – and that’s not an accident – the problem is cost and regulation. The new bureaucracy any business will need to comply with plethora of onerous, contradictory, and outright painful Obamacare regulations is cost prohibitive. The cost of healthcare itself has jumped, and will jump even more, because of Obamacare. Coupled the two serve to push even companies like Wegmans to give up and let someone else pay for the “free healthcare”.

Don’t you worry about these poor people though, because there is a silver lining according to the article:

However, part-time employees may actually benefit from Wegmans’ decision, according to Brian Murphy, a partner at Lawley Benefits Group, an insurance brokerage firm in Buffalo.

“If you have an employee that qualifies for subsidized coverage, they might be better off going with that than a limited part-time benefit,” Murphy said.

That’s because subsidized coverage can have a lower out-of-pocket cost for the insured employee while also providing better benefits than an employer-paid plan.

Hmm.. That’s a couple of big “ifs” there. First you have to qualify for subsidized coverage. My bet is that means you have to be below some arbitrary income line that qualifies you as living in poverty, and while some might qualify for that, my bet is most, by a large margin, will not. And then, if you manage to qualify, there are another couple of if-hurdles to clear.

You could be on some subsidized coverage that potentially had a lower out-of- pocket cost than the plan you used to have. I can see that happening. Of course, even if they pretend otherwise, for it to happen that way, you must go where government wants you to for care, and I guarantee you the quality of care will be low while gaining access will require long wait periods. It’s the only way government keeps costs down. Then again, these fuckers do not give a shit that tax payers will be footing the bulk of the bill, as the article points out you will be getting far better benefits, want/need them or not. So maybe you will get primo care with no wait, and other people will pay for all that! BONUS!

“It’s a win-win. The employee gets subsidized coverage, and the employer gets to lower costs,” Murphy said.

Yeah, sure. It’s a win-win for everyone but the people that end up footing the bills. That is the productive tax payers. People that want full time employment, employers that would rather have full time employees with more manageable plans and flexibility, or employers that would have otherwise expanded and created more jobs, and of course tax payers, will all get the shaft though. Who fucking cares about those stupid details. Keynesians marxists, like the ones running the country now that have straddled us with this idiotic, bloated, job & economy killing behemoth, all think money to pay the bills for their overspending comes from ripping off the productive, printing presses, and borrowing, anyway.

This article tries to spin a big negative into a positive, but you have to be a fucking imbecile to think that’s what’s really going on here. The unspoken truth and reality is Obamacare is working as intended and driving us all to part time employment and government controlled heatlhcare. because nothing says we care about you more than the nanny state owning and controlling you! Enjoy the shit sandwich you morons.

Left’s support for employment on display

As if you needed any more proof of why the left’s economic agenda is an employment killing machine, comes this story from Washington D.C. about stupid on steroids.

D.C. lawmakers gave final approval Wednesday to a bill requiring some large retailers to pay their employees a 50 percent premium over the city’s minimum wage, a day after Wal-Mart warned that the law would jeopardize its plans in the city.

The retail giant had linked the future of at least three planned stores in the District to the proposal. But its ultimatum did not change any legislators’ minds. The 8 to 5 roll call matched the outcome of an earlier vote on the matter, taken before Wal-Mart’s warning.

“The question here is a living wage; it’s not whether Wal-Mart comes or stays,” said council member Vincent B. Orange (D-At Large), a lead backer of the legislation, who added that the city did not need to kowtow to threats. “We’re at a point where we don’t need retailers. Retailers need us.”

Let me point out that there is no idea or concept more destructive and devastating to employment than the idiotic “living wage” one. Oh, it may sound noble and imply that the people pushing it care, but the reality is that the concept has about as much of a chance to exist in reality as a unicorn does. WTF is a living wage? It’s the whole idiotic marxist concept that labor is what really is valuable, and not the end product or the demand for and ability to afford said product. This nonsensical approach to commerce is why marxists feel paying a doctor and a turd polisher the same amount makes for some kind of right and justice.

I will again state the blatant hypothetical situation. A turd, even when some idiot has spent 50 hours laboring to polish it, remains a turd. Nobody will pay any kind of money, let alone big money, for it. Marxism believes that because some fucking retard spent hours polishing the thing, it now suddenly has value. Not only that, but that someone wants to buy the stupid thing at the price they have to sell it, to pay the turd polisher for his labor.

The left hates fucking Walmart, because there is no company on this planet that does more to discredit all the marxist and Keynesian bullshit they claim to believe in and peddle. But Walmart has made it possible for average people to live way beyond their means and income, by providing cheap services and products, and the left despises them for that. We can debate quality, as this seems to be the main complaint the progressive Walmart hating crowd bandies about when trying to make the case that the problem is stores like Wal-Mart and not their idiotic beliefs and lack of understanding of commerce and economics, but a poor shlob that is given the option of owning something of lesser quality, over never being able to afford it, will likely tell you they would pick the first option 9,999 times out of ten thousand. It’s not like anyone is putting a gun to their head and making them buy Walmart shit either.

Nobody is owed a living wage. No-fucking-body. The concept is ludicrous. You get paid what your employer is willing to, because the market bears that cost, and the product or service you provide is worth it at that price. We pay doctors, and other that perform other highly specialized and in-demand work, lots of money, because very few people have the ability, dedication, and wherewithal to complete the specialized training needed to do the job, and then, to do the job right. There is always going to be a hard limit on these skilled people while the product or service they deliver is in demand and complex. That’s also why we pay the people that do what amounts to meaning less labor – in the sense that any Joe blow off the street can do the same task with minimal preparation – far less than a doctor. Working at Walmart, or any such type of menial service job, is not rocket science. Besides, nobody forces you to apply at Walmart now, do they? It’s your choice to work there or not. And yet, we are constantly regaled with stories of thousands of employees applying for jobs at any opening Walmart that has a couple of hundred jobs.

Look. I am glad the idiots in D.C. are cutting off their nose to spite their face. Nothing makes me happier than watching morons that elect leftist fucks to run their fiefdom. getting shafted by the left’s stupid ideas, always criminal behavior, and stupidity. It’s cathartic. There is a reason that the biggest wastelands in the US are, bar none, places that have been run and owned by the leftists for decades. Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C.: that’s what the rest of the country would look like if the left gets a permanent hold on, and expands, its power. I think that after 8 years of Obamanomics that list of shitholes will be large and distinguished as well. Progressives can keep pretending they do the incredibly stupid shit they do out of altruistic and noble intent, but reality will make sure all of us know what they are doing is not just stupid, but destructive.

Enjoy the royal shafting you just got people in D.C.! You deserve it for electing these morons. When you have to pay more for your basic necessities, have fewer jobs to work a, and find yourself with more economic woes, I am sure most of these idiots will blame Walmart for not opening stores there instead of the politicians that drove them away, but that’s all good. Stupid people should have to suffer the consequences of their mistakes and idiocy. That’s how life teaches you lessons.

Things that should make you go hmmmmm…

At this time, when the WH and the left are riddled with scandals that show their disdain for democracy and their love for the every abuse of power they always pretend is done by the other side – at least it should now be obvious why the left always seems to feel the other side will abuse power, and that’s because they are just projecting based on what they will do – we should pay attention to what they are trying to do. They are all coming together to control the narrative. The new mantra is that their shining star, the guy they tell us is always involved and knows everything when it is convenient for that to be the narrative, suddenly knew nothing about the massive abuses of power by government and the despicable politicization of a terrorist attack bungled by people determined to win an election at all costs.

If we are to buy the nonsense that Obama only know about what was going on when it is convenient for his image, and always is in the dark when it is not, with Obamacare heading for disaster, how long will it be before we get told that Obama didn’t know about that either? The rats are all abandoning the sinking ship in droves, and we see how bureaucrats at the IRS feel compelled to use the power of government to go after the nanny state’s political enemies, so what should make anyone not logically conclude that the bureaucrats running Obamacare will abuse the power of life & death even more? Lois Lerner, one of the key players in charge of implementing Obamacare, was the one that was supervising and directing the IRS when they decided to start targeting the Nanny State’s enemies. It is not an accident that now that she has been called to testify, she plans to plead the fifth.

Seriously, anyone that believes that government will do a better job than the evil and greedy people in the private sector, is not just stupid: they are insane. No entity can do more evil and cause more harm than government, and we are just getting a little taste of how much worse it will be when these progressives get their way and have government control everything that is important. The revelations of the massive abuses of power we are seeing now are not an aberration: they are part and parcel of what the Nanny Stater progressive movement believes about. It is the way they operate. Don’t let them fool you into thinking it is otherwise. The abuses of the USSR, Mao’s China, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Cuba, North Korea, and so on are not the progressive movement’s dream gone wrong: they are what the progressive movement’s dream will ALWAYS end up as. That’s because it is the very nature of the beast.

The only government that won’t screw over the people is one that is so limited in its power that the opportunities for graft and abuse are all but nonexistent. Ours is a massive monster that controls all access to who wins and who loses on purpose. Think hard about that. Especially now that they are about to get full control over our medical – life & death – decision making capabilities. They may retend they do this to help, but they are going to weiled the power like a hammer and “We the people” will be the nail they will be hammering down with it.

Of course, and let me preempt the usual suspects: “BOOOSH!!!1!!eleventy!!” Fuck, by now even the most idiotic leftist turd should see that the abuses of power by Team Blue make Boosh look like mother Theresa. Karma is a bitch, though. After all that hard work to make a mediocre president look like a real bad one, their guy comes along and makes the mediocre guy look like a fucking knight in shining armor. Eat crow you leftards. Pass the popcorn. This freak show is about to get really fun to watch.

This is what donkey fiscal discipline looks like

Well, for the first time in 4 years Senate Democrats have a budget proposal, and from what I have seen they might as well have done what they did the last 4 years: nothing. This new monstrosity basically adds close to a trillion dollars in new taxes, a whole lot of money they can steer to their constituency, lobbyists, friends, and advocacy groups stimulus spending, at the same time as it seems to add close to $10 trillion in new welfare spending (see graph below).

The Senate on Wednesday presented its first budget in four years, a proposal by leaders of the Democrat-controlled chamber that calls for nearly $1 trillion in tax increases but includes no strategy to make federal revenue match spending in the coming years.

The plan calls for $975 billion in new tax revenue through closing loopholes and ending deductions and credits benefiting corporations and the country’s highest wage earners.

It also calls for $100 billion in new stimulus spending while cutting $1.85 trillion from the deficit over 10 years. The rest of the savings would come through spending cuts.

Yeah, sure! All I see is a lot of new taxation – not limited to the evil rich but hitting everyone, but especially the middle class the hardest – followed by promises of cuts so far in the future that only douchebag liberals and their friends in the LSM take that crap seriously. And of course we get stimulus spending too. The people that swallowed up the close to $1 trillion of tax payer’s money our government pissed away four years ago, with the rest of us that were not part of that elite chosen few seeing nothing of that spent money, want more, and they will get it.

I also hear that they are counting on some $600 billion in savings from the Iraq and Afghan wars, which were scheduled to end in 2014 anyway. So If I decide to spend $3000 on new furniture for my place, then decide not to, I saved $3K? That’s the logic at work for these government types. What nonsense. Especially when I see a lot of new spending in that graph that follows after we are get these savings.

First Senate Budget Proposal in 4 years sucks

In case you are unable to do basic math, that’s a fuckton of new spending. A decade from now government will be spending $2 trillion more than it does now. Add up all that new spending over that decade and we are looking at more than $10 trillion. I don’t think we have any cuts there that matter if projected spending keeps going up, and the taxes are not going to be enough to make a dent in that number. I am sure the CBO accountants will find a way to pretend things work out in the future, even if not a single bit of the pretending/projecting since 2008 has come true. Looks like, at a minimum, we will be sitting on some $27 trillion of debt by 2023 if these fuckers get their way. They are likely getting their advice from this moron, which is why they feel this is not a big deal. Back to the article.

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray said the budget takes a balanced, “pro-middle-class” approach and argued the country’s economic problems started long before fellow Democrats entered the White House in 2009.

Pro-middle-class? Sure, I can see how you would think this crap is pro-middle-class if you also think rape is just rough sex. The group most likely to suffer the hardest under these new tax changes are the members of the middle class. Look back for the last 4 years, then look at what’s coming, and the group getting hammered the worst is the middle class. Bar none. And that’s the direct consequence. Imagine the pain as our economy throws another seizure because of all the foreseen and unforeseen consequences of the socio-engineering attempts of the nanny staters? It’s not accidental that these progressives talking the talk about helping the poor have seen the largest increase of the welfare rolls during Obama’s tenure, while the rich have gotten richer. The middle class? They have been hammered. Wait until Obamacare kicks in and the pain really starts. And yet, the left keeps pretending they care about the middle class. Insulting. Really insulting.

“Despite some of the rhetoric you may hear from my Republican colleagues, the Great Recession didn’t start the day President Obama was elected,” said Murray, D-Wash.

No, it started with the oh so many socio-engineering and other gerrymandering efforts by the left, going back decades. Obama has only prolonged the pain, probably for at least the next decade, through the policies he and the left stuck us with in the last 4 years. Trillions we don’t have spent and nothing to show for it, with the law telling us even more trillions we do not have will need to be spent. But why let facts get in the way of a pipe dream, huh? Spend us into prosperity! Never mind $1 trillion in stimulus, spend $50 trillion. Then we will be the most prosperous country evah! Don’t worry about the debt. Krugababy said so.

Anyhoo, back to the article one more time. This is something everyone needs to be aware of:

The plan also calls for replacing the recent, $85 billion in spending cuts with more measured cuts.

That’s code for ending these cuts and replacing them with the promise of cuts sometime in the far, far away future. For those that have a problem with that math it means that they want to go back to spending that money and plan to never cut anything. Banana republic here we come! We are so doomed, and the number of freeloaders has put us over the tipping point.

Seriously, the Senate should have not proposed a budget at all. It would be less ridiculous and stupid than what they did. I pine for the bad days of the Boosh spending bonanza. I am even willing to give the left the Clinton tax rates if we get government spending what it was under Clinton. When government is spending close to $6 trillion in a decade, a 62% hike, will our GDP also be up 62%? Only idiots would pretend that’s gonna happen. So government is going to own close to 1/3 of our GDP in a decade. Our kids should hate us. We have murdered their future.

The system is broke.

If you need more proof that the west is doomed because of the broken and unsustainable social system, take a look at this latest revelation:

A SKIVING couple told last night how they claim £17,680 a year in benefits — and don’t even bother looking for work because it would leave them worse off. Danny Creamer, 21, and Gina Allan, 18, spend each day watching their 47in flatscreen TV and smoking 40 cigarettes between them in their comfy two-bedroom flat.

It is all funded by the taxpayer, yet the couple say they deserve sympathy because they are “trapped”. They even claim they are entitled to their generous handouts because their hard-working parents have been paying tax for years. The couple, who have a four-month-old daughter Tullulah-Rose, say they can’t go out to work as they could not survive on less than their £1,473-a-month benefits.

The pair left school with no qualifications, and say there is no point looking for jobs because they will never be able to earn as much as they get in handouts. Gina admits: “We could easily get a job but why would we want to work — we would be worse off.”

Oh, where to begin. Yes, this is GB, not the US, but the two country’s systems, despite anyone’s attempt to argue otherwise, fail in the same manner. Namely they discourage employment and self sufficiency, as the young lady which already has one welfare child the tax payers are subsidizing, points out. As these perfectly capable of doing work parasites also point out, they pretty much wasted their “free education”, yet they feel, and do so strongly, quite entitled to all of the freebees. That’s because their parents paid taxes!

The problem is that there is no longer stigma attached to sucking at the government’s teat. Politicians pretend to get rid of that to help make it easier for those in real need to seek help, but the result has been that the system got swamped by so many that feel like these two losers do that they are owed, for whatever reason. And the politicians don’t care anymore. It is the best vote buying scheme ever, so they will never fix the system.

Before anyone goes there. The problem isn’t that evil capitalism has made it impossible for these poor souls to find well paying jobs. It isn’t a rigged system that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer that’s at fault: it is the tremendously stupid choices made by these morons. They had free education and squandered that. Why work to get skills that could get you paid more anyway, if the completely idiotic and vile wealth redistribution scam masquerading as social help is quite content to go through the motions of pretending to protect the tax payers, but really doesn’t care at all?

These people are where they are because of choices. They likely came from hard working middle class parents, and now they are quite content to demand more free shit, always paid for by others, while they avoid responsibility and anything resembling work. That shit is for suckers. Meh, don’t take my word for it.

Danny’s father, 46, even offered him a job with his bowling alley servicing company — but could not pay him enough. Danny’s mum, 45, works as a carer, while Gina’s mum, 46, is a teacher and her dad, 53, is a manager with a security company. Yet their parents’ work ethic has not rubbed off on Danny and Gina. Instead, they claim they are entitled to benefits because of their parents’ tax contributions — and even complain they should be given MORE.

Gina, flaunting fake tan and perfectly manicured nails, said: “I don’t see that we’re living off the taxpayers, we’re entitled to the money our parents paid all their lives. “They’ve worked so hard since they left school and I’m sure they’d rather it went to us than see us struggle. They pay a lot of tax, and although they’d rather we weren’t in this situation and one of us had a job, they understand why we are where we are. We can’t help it, we’re stuck like it.”

And there you have it in a nut shell. Work is for suckers. Gimme, and gimme more, because I am entitled to it. And we let these morons vote. What a tragic revelation, huh? In the mean time those of us that find this attitude anathema to progress and civilization’s survival get hammered. We are told we need to give up more so people like Gina and Danny, with little baby Tullulah – whom is totally innocent since she only had the ill luck of being born to these fools, and despite the fact that she will have the same attitude they do and want more free shit herself, can not be held responsible in any way for this failure – can live it up.

Let’s also not kid ourselves that this scenario is a rare incident, because it tends to absolutely be the norm. The “I didn’t pay attention is school, have no skills, can not get paid enough if I worked to want to leave the freebees and be productive, and I am entitled anyway so what?” attitude is pervasive and stands as an indictment of the whole system that pretends wealth redistribution will solve whatever. Not of anything else. But the left will never admit what we have now is not just broke, but will break each and every country that is spending too much on people like this, even when they remain unable to afford it, and that we need to undo the free anything system and tell people that they need to produce and not slack.

It’s a shakedown, but its how collectivism plays out.

The Norks are back on the war path. And their nuke and missile tests are targeted at the US:

Defying a resolution issued by the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday that condemned Pyongyang for test-firing a missile in December and tightened existing sanctions on the regime, North Korea’s National Defence Commission said the new nuclear test would be part of its action against the “sworn enemy of the Korean people”.

North Korea also vowed to push ahead with launches of more long-range rockets.

Describing the UN Security Council as “a marionette of the US,” North Korean state media claimed the resolutions are “products of its blind pursuance of the hostile policy of the US.

“The UNSC should apologise for its crime of seriously encroaching upon the independence of a sovereign state … and repeal all the unreasonable ‘resolutions’ at once,” KCNA reported.

Pyongyang also declared that no further talks on removing nuclear weapons from the Korean peninsula are now possible and that a “nuclear test of a higher level” would be carried out.

Yes, they know the US isn’t going to do much to stop them, but anyone seeing this would be remiss to think that this isn’t just another desperate move. The best place to get a clear look at how disastrous the central planning practices of the various collectivist cults are, is in their production of food stuff. The communist system which we continue to see play out, over the last century plus, has continuously and permanently underperformed, and condemned hundreds of millions to famine, while starving millions to death. And this year is bringing the Norks more of this pain, to the point they are worried they can’t even feed their troops and need to really be worried:

“Ever since Kim Jong-un assumed the position of supreme leader, the media in North Korea and visiting foreigners have reported on the beautifully developing capital, Pyongyang. But in the shadow of the ‘gorgeous’ capital a hidden famine has broken out,” says Jiro Ishimaru, chief editor of Asiapress in Osaka, a North Korean watchdog with numerous clandestine reporters throughout North Korea.

The dark secret behind all of this new capital glitz and glamour has been a raging famine in the two Hwanghae provinces, where by some estimates 20,000 people have died of starvation in South Hwanghae alone in the year since Kim Jong-il died in December 2011 and was succeeded by his son and heir, the 29-year-old Kim Jong-un.

The Hwangwhe provinces, north and south, lie just south of the capital, between Pyongyang and the South Korean border. They are often said to be the “breadbasket” of North Korea, supplying food to both key elements of North Korea’s social order: The million-man army, many of them deployed along their southern border facing South Korea; and the capital, Pyongyang.

For the past year, however, these provinces have not been able to feed themselves, due in part to the demands of these two powerful groups. In particular the capital has required considerably more of the provincial agriculture output to feed the thousands of workers who were imported to work on the major construction projects underway for the past three to four years.

Every time the regime in NK fears the consequences of their brutal rule might really throw everything into whack, they resort to these tactics. And why not? Every other time they have done this, we have paid them bribes. They then promptly use anything we give them to keep their military all happy, while the slaves die off. That’s how your collectivist utopia always ends up working, regardless of how much pretend success they had before, when they run out of other people’s money, in a nutshell. Greece is currently leading the pack in Europe towards that direction. The shakedown there is of the northern Europeans. Look at California or Illinois closer at home for a glimpse of the same. Both are counting on the Feds bailing them out after over half a century of stupid collectivist shit. I do have to admit that I am worried about who we in the western collectivist world are going to have to shakedown when our freak show goes south though, huh?
