Now that energy secretary Chu admitted during testimony to congress that this administrations actually understands what they are doing is going to jack up energy prices and will do nothing to mediate that, can we stop pretending that these people want high gas prices?

COMMENTARY | President Barack Obama’s Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu uttered the kind of Washington gaffe that consists of telling the truth when inconvenient. According to Politico, Chu admitted to a House committee that the administration is not interested in lowering gas prices.

Chu, along with the Obama administration, regards the spike in gas prices as a feature rather than a bug. High gas prices provide an incentive for alternate energy technology, a priority for the White House, and a decrease in reliance on oil for energy.

Yahoo is trying real hard to put a positive spin on this revelation, and Chu was forced this morning to recant on that admission, but those of us paying at the pump that are stuck with the pain, while our credentialed elite jet set and live large, now have proof we where right that was the plan from the start. Look, the left wants us off fossil fuels and dependant on the unproven, unreliable, and incapable of producing the needed energy technologies that their green bullshit initiatives will produce, while making these of them part of that insider lop – that’s people like you Al Gore! – stinking rich. We can now stop arguing if what they are saying means we are going to have to pay a lot more for energy, because in a candid moment we have the guy leading the effort to bring us these sky high prices admitting that’s the plan.

This is more of the same from the WH that claimed they had a “jobs” policy, only that policy seems to have been about protecting democrat constituents and their power. We need to do away with these people, and do so fast, unless we are content to have them set the standard of living for all of us not part of their special circle to tat of Bangladesh. Stop trying to get us off oil and making leftist investors in green energy rich, and give the people a damned break already. They are not doing this for our own good. Don’t believe that lie. This is so these poverty pimps can make astronomical amounts of money and gain even more intrusive and absolute power over the people. That’s the real driver here. It’s what’s behind all this green shit.

One promise Team Obama plans to keep..

And that is to make us all pay a lot more for our electric utilities in order to push his stupid green agenda, which I remind you all produced such doozies as Solyndra and have cost the tax payers billions of wasted dollars, on an unwilling customer.

Already weary of high gas prices and 9.1 percent unemployment, many Americans are about to get another kick in the wallet thanks to large increases in their electricity bills.

From Alaska to Georgia and Wyoming to Florida, utilities are seeking permission to pass on hundreds of millions of dollars in new charges to customers to help upgrade aging infrastructure and build new or retrofitted power plants that comply with tougher environmental regulations, a Daily Beast review of regulatory filings has found.

The influx of requests, many still pending before state regulators, has left energy experts convinced that electricity prices will be on the rise for the foreseeable future as the industry struggles to modernize its aging infrastructure.

This is not news to those of us that knew this was part of the agenda. The morons that defended these crooks or pretended this wasn’t coming are of course not going to admit they where wrong. They don’t really care if they where after all, they where just hoping to distract and prevent any possible action by pretending they where arguing in good faith. As usual, the left’s agenda has consequences:

The pending rate hikes are bad news for poor and elderly Americans on tight budgets, as Congress and the White House begin making cuts to programs that help people cope with their utility bills. One program in particular, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, was slashed during the budget negotiations earlier this year, and is slated for even deeper reductions this fall.

Party of the little people indeed. The good thing about this is that after the last 3 hard years of this crap, and the pain it will leave us with for the foreseeable future, it will be decades before anyone trusts one of these collectivists to do anything but cause harm to the lower and middle classes. Welcome to painful and higher prices. For your own good, of course.

Gas prices are going up again.

NOTE: I wrote this post a couple of weeks ago, and then left it as a draft because I figured it would turn into another battle about AGW. However, the predictions I was making then seem to have born fruit, so I decided it was time to actually post it, focusing on the fact that this policy failed miserably.

Obama’s team, suddenly realizing that their belief expensive gas was awesome and a needed thing for the nation was not shared by the majority of people getting hammered by high gas prices, recently decide to open up the Strategic Reserve to try and stem the flood. Many, like me, where baffled by this move. Doing this now was way to early to affect any meaningful change to gas prices in anything but the immediate short term, and there was no way to release enough to carry that effect into the 2012 elections. More incomprehensible was the fact that they missed the point that it was almost a given this move guaranteed that they would cause an increase prices in the long term. Sooner than later they would have to replenish any oil released, and that massive demand against the same amount of resources, was only going to drive price up. This desperate and ridiculous move was sold as a big win, under the guise that the administration was broadcasting that it could do this at any time, thus hurting speculators badly, but to me it simply seemed to follow the same pattern of insanity that has been part & parcel of these people.

The left of course reported this as a brilliant move, as NPR did, while those that live in the real world and understand the basic principles of economics or what the Strategic Reserve’s function is supposed to be, pointed out this was for what it was. Some even predicted the short term drastic drop that would then quickly be followed by even bigger increases as the Jutia Group did here. And as they predicted, the prices dropped about $9 dollars a few days ago, but today started jumping up bigtime as the traders adjusted to the reality that this move wasn’t going to have much more than a brief impact on supply and was nothing more than a political ploy.

Those drops we saw in gas prices are not going to last too long it seems. That relief we just got at the pump doesn’t look like it is going to last too much longer. Hope you didbn’t change your traveling plan or budget, because high prices are soon to be back.

The above was my prediction over 2 weeks ago. It looks like I was right predicting that this stunt was going to fail miserably
