First Blue model state to Greece it..

Looks like I lose a bet with a buddy, because Illinois beat California to the punch. Well maybe Connecticut can go right after California, so I win that bet. From the letter of the comptroller of the now bankrupt state of Illinois:

See attached letter sent to elected officials from across the state this morning.

As Illinois’ Chief Fiscal and Accountability Officer, my Office is responsible for managing the state’s financial accounts as well as providing the public and the state’s elected leadership with objective and timely data concerning the state’s difficult fiscal condition. As you are quite aware, I have been very vocal regarding these issues and the budgetary impasse since assuming office six months ago; however we are now reaching a new phase of crisis.

Accordingly, I must communicate to you at this time the full extent of our dire fiscal straits and the potential disruptions that we face in addressing even our most critical core responsibilities going forward into the new fiscal year. My Office has very serious concerns that, in the coming weeks, the State of Illinois will no longer be able to guarantee timely and predictable payments in a number of areas that we have to date managed (albeit with extreme difficulty) despite an unpaid bill backlog in excess of $15 billion and growing rapidly.

We are effectively hemorrhaging money as the state’s spending obligations have exceeded receipts by an average of over $600 million per month over the past year.

My cause for alarm is rooted in the increasing deficit spending combined with new and ongoing cash management demands stemming from decisions from state and federal courts, the latest being the class action lawsuit filed by advocates representing the Medicaid service population served by the state’s Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). As of June 15, the MCOs, and their provider networks, are owed a total of more than $2.8 billion in overdue bills at the Comptroller’s Office. There is no question that these obligations should be paid in a more timely manner and that the payment delays caused by the state’s financial condition negatively impact the state’s healthcare infrastructure. We are currently in court directed discussions to reach a workable and responsive payment schedule going forward, but any acceleration of the timing of those payments under the current circumstances will almost certainly affect the scheduling of other payments, regardless of other competing court orders and Illinois statutory mandates.

Heh, they ran out of other people’s money! Now if Hillary was president, the productive tax payers would just be told to grab their ankles and bail out these yokels, but with Trump-Putin, that is unlikely to happen. No wonder so many blue staters are losing their fucking minds and hoping to reverse the election results. They had banked on their girl saving them from their own ineptness, and now they are stuck with that debt they ran up figuring someone else would end up paying it anyway

I eagerly await your response as to next steps for furthering this discussion.

How about cut your nanny state fucking spending?

Must be why Obama chose to not return home and stayed in D.C…..

Thanks for disappointing me douchebags!

I was cautiously optimistic that the fake news media was finally delivering some good news when I encountered a WaPo article titled The State Department’s entire senior administrative team just resigned. I read the leading paragraph:

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s job running the State Department just got considerably more difficult. The entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday, part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior Foreign Service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.

Needless to say I was fist-pumping and downright ecstatic that what probably amounts to one of the most ineptly staffed and politicized US government agencies was shedding useless dreck, and that it was all happening without Trump needing to tell someone to show these people their walking papers. I was hoping more of these useless collectivist credentialed dead weights would follow suit and also walk. Things could only get better. I am sure my coworkers thought I had gone bananas when I let out a guffaw and followed it up with a load “MOAR PLEASE!”. I had a bounce in my step and was feeling awesome most of the day until I ran into this:

Fake News Again

Way to let me down people. I actually hope more people take after these idiots that did the American people a favor by leaving, not just at state, but across the board (high hopes for those at the DOJ and the IRS). It will be a great thing for this country to get rid of these leftist nanny stater shitbags. They are honestly doing the country a favor by quitting.

Of course, the leftists, as this WaPo piece clearly shows, are acting as if this is something catastrophic. In their minds – for some explainable reason – these credentialed elite never-do-wells somehow are important, even thought they fuck up everything constantly, and Armageddon is sure to follow if they are no longer there to fuck things up. Talk about really not getting what is happening. I can hope that the ones that are left stayed more because they are happy the nearly a decade of nutty shit is over, but with my luck these are just the smarter people there (not really a compliment either), and thus, unwilling to risk their cushy government teat sucking job. They are at least bright enough to admit odds are high that they couldn’t do any other kind of work except in academia (that is a derogatory comment for the slow people here).

Yeah, I am rubbing it in..

The other day, on one of the many threads that degenerate into people flinging poo and hoping it sticks to the wall about Trump, I made the argument that some of the people I had talked to admitted that the major reason the left is so unhinged about Trump was tied to an abject fear that after decades of abysmal and compounded failures of the implementation of a slew of progressive ideas, and the horrible turn of the last 8 years in particular, that Trump would swoop in, and be successful. Of course, the usual crowd immediately attacked me for this, pointing out that I needed to find different liberals to talk to. Some even went so far as to imply that maybe I was just making shit up. bear with me as I set this up.

Then again, I clearly remember how the left was eager to see Reagan implement his ideas, back when he won in the early eighties, expecting them to crash and burn. At the time convention was that piss poor economic performance – the stuff that later came to be known as the carter malaise – was a given. All because big government and central planning – by the ascending club of douchebag credentialed elites that went on to run western democracies today – was the only way to go forward. these smug know-it-alls where certain that the Keynesianism and massive government expansion & control were the only thing that would work, only to freak out when Reagan’s changes resulted in a huge boom and unprecedented growth. Of course, the democrat controlled congress reacted to that boom by desperately trying to control the messaging and by sending twice what they collected out of the booming economy. Reagan was forced to go along with that so he could both get his military build up (which is what spelled the demise of the USSR) and the things he knew would spur and keep continued growth.

The left learned a huge lesson from that mistake: allowing something other than their idiotic ideas to be implemented was a recipe for disaster. After Reagan, no one would ever be allowed to challenge the standard lefty dogma unopposed. The taxpayers being fleeced, and the American people in general, be damned. And they thought they had won that battle with Obama and the narrative from the DNC operatives with bylines that spent 8 years telling us we were in a great economy, one that was always just around the corner from taking off like a bat out of hell because of the genius of the credentialed elite in charge. Mountains of money were thrown at problems those elites told us they knew how to solve. When it didn’t happen, they blamed everyone else for the failures but their stupid ideas. Heck, we even had people that argued that the reason these idiotic half-baked ideas did not pan out was that not enough money had been funneled to democrat special interest, friends, operatives, and campaign coffers! And they thought enough people were lapping the shit up that despite the abysmal reality one of the most crooked and opportunistic people would end up elected to carry on that legacy. But then reality kicked them in the teeth.

As soon as Trump won, the left, already unhinged but until then wrapping their miasma in a veneer of legitimacy, went batshit crazy. Snowflakes that had been given participation trophies and had gobbled up the propaganda about the virtues of the nanny state and its supremacy, suddenly had no idea what to do with that. Like religious fanatics, assured of their dogma’s supremacy, and smug in their belief they are the smart ones because they believe the right things, suddenly getting that all challenged, these people have basically experienced an existential crisis. The urge is to deligitimize and to assure failure (like they did with Boosh too). The enemy must be defined and defeated.

So what does this have to do with my original comment at the start of this post? Well, it seems I am not alone in having those lib friends that want Trump to not succeed/ It looks like others have similar friends or are noticing that there is definitely that component of fear of success by Trump there. Nothing is more dangerous to the nanny staters than real world events which will clearly show that their ideology offers neither real answers nor solutions. Especially in this day and age where they have lost control of the messaging.
