The costliest war the left stuck us with

Is without a doubt the war on poverty. And like every war the left has been involved with since WW2, it has been a miserable loss for America and the American tax payer. From the article:

Today, the U.S. Census Bureau will release its annual report on poverty. This report is noteworthy because this year marks the 50th anniversary of President Lyndon Johnson’s launch of the War on Poverty. Liberals claim that the War on Poverty has failed because we didn’t spend enough money. Their answer is just to spend more. But the facts show otherwise.

>>> Full Report: The War on Poverty After 50 Years

Since its beginning, U.S. taxpayers have spent $22 trillion on Johnson’s War on Poverty (in constant 2012 dollars). Adjusting for inflation, that’s three times more than was spent on all military wars since the American Revolution.

The federal government currently runs more than 80 means-tested welfare programs. These programs provide cash, food, housing and medical care to low-income Americans. Federal and state spending on these programs last year was $943 billion. (These figures do not include Social Security, Medicare, or Unemployment Insurance.)

>>> INFOGRAPHIC: 9 Facts About How the Poor in America Live

Over 100 million people, about one third of the U.S. population, received aid from at least one welfare program at an average cost of $9,000 per recipient in 2013. If converted into cash, current means-tested spending is five times the amount needed to eliminate all poverty in the U.S.

But today the Census will almost certainly proclaim that around 14 percent of Americans are still poor. The present poverty rate is almost exactly the same as it was in 1967 a few years after the War on Poverty started. Census data actually shows that poverty has gotten worse over the last 40 years.

The war on poverty has been a bust. $22 trillion (in 2012 adjusted dollars) has been spent – an amount that, if you go to the bullshit the left really likes to go to whenever they want to make anti-war talk, is over three times the total cost of every major war effort the US engaged in since the civil war – and we have more poor than we had before. If you choose to look at the effectiveness of this project, the best case scenario is that it is a wash, and realistically, it is a miserable failure that has pissed away a huge amount of money. Poverty, according to the collectivists, still is rampant.

The country’s private sector – the productive part of it – is being bled dry. The middle class is in a death spiral. Our economy is in the shitter. Trillions in debt we have no means to pay off, and over regulation that never address the fundamental underlying problem that government has abrogated itself the ability to pick winners & losers, are coupled with an agenda to allow government to control the flow of money and people – through things like the takeover of healthcare and insane environmental activism – to the benefit of those in power. Trillion dollar annual deficits, that do nothing but funnel money to the ultra-rich & well-connected and to those they buy votes from, are needed to even keep a semblance of stagnation (the reality is that we are stuck in a depression), have become the norm. More people than ever are unemployed, and the agenda of the last 6 years, including the support for an invasion from the southern border, all but guarantees this number will go up even more. Dependency on government handouts are at their highest, with more and more people lining up to suck at the government’s teat while the productive sector is bled dry.

Nobody but those that profit from this failed boondoggle can argue that the war on poverty has been anything but an abject failure. We would have been better off giving the poor a blank check as a share of the wealth pissed away so far. Not most of them would not have just pissed it away in record time, and then would show up with their hand out asking for more in record time. Saying that the “War on poverty” has been a gigantic failure and can never be won, is an understatement. But damn, this wasteful program has worked beyond any democrat’s wildest dream to help them retain their hold on power. And in the end, that was and remains the real goal of this insanely costly program. By that measure, this program has been a huge success. The left wins, again, as America loses out.

This is happening by design

You would think that the morons at the LA Times, considering how blatant the evidence is to make the point, would realize that the revelation that 40% of American households are under financial stress, actually is a repudiation of the “social justice” agenda. Instead they are arguing that the cure for this distress is more of the very policies and practices that cause the harm. For these collectivist twits there is no economic malaise caused by the nanny state’s “social justice” agenda for which the cure isn’t even more obtrusive and destructive growth of the nanny state and the collectivist agenda.

This brings us back to one of the most brilliant quotes ever made:

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded- here and there, now and then- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as “bad luck.” — Robert A. Heinlein

The class warriors thrive on misery. That’s why their policies always and without fault will create a lot more of it. They can then blame all those people they know the envious would go along with for the ills they cause, and the vicious circle repeats itself with more of the same results. These people pretend they mean well, but they don’t. Don’t be fooled. Whether it be “free healthcare” or “free Obama phones”, the truth is nothing is ever free. Someone pays for it. And in the nanny state, these “free” things always come with a heavy surcharge that serves to enrich the masters of the nanny state.

Find me some political hack telling you how the plan is to address some injustice and help the little people, and I will guarantee you that when you dig deep you will find a profiteer playing the unwashed, uneducated, and envious idiots as a means to enrich themselves and those lucky few connected people in their circle. It’s not a coincidence that the more the progressive class warriors try to help people, the worse off people end up. That’s the design. In the US the war on poverty has been going on for over 6 decades and has swallowed up over $15 trillion in the process. And yet, even with the progressives in charge and a total lack of respect for the constitution and our laws, all we have is more poverty and misery than ever.

The progs love to tell you about the evils of big Pharma. As usual it is projection. See, big Pharma will never find the cure for anything, because then they would stop making oodles of money. That they could make far more money selling these perma-cures never sinks in. Anyway, the point is that the left projects in everything. When they accuse others of doing wrong, it is because they do that. They expect big Pharma to never find cures, because in their minds, that would be the end of big Pharma. Same with poverty. If someone did anything that helped or fixed poverty, the class warriors would lose one of the most lucrative schemes ever.

It’s all pretense with these clowns. I think Robert Redford is in the news right now because he is fighting some blue state on some millions he owes in taxes. The case is the same with every one of these assclowns: they want everyone else to pay, but not themselves. This is Hollywood’s mantra. Overrun with progressives, no industry can claim the perks and exemptions they do except government. Take the progtards argument about money in politics their objection is usually about money not given to their people. When the money goes to donkeys, they have no problem with it. Even if it is dirty and illegaly obtained.

Fuck the lot fo them.

Spin debunked.

Today’s big headline is that “Dow drops 200-plus points; stocks negative for July“, which coming on the heels of the almost surely to be found out as bunk revelation by the desperate Donkey mouthpiece of former fame and glory claiming for the umpteenth time that the economic recovery is here, should make you wonder.

Scuttlebutt I heard is that when you really break down that 4% growth the NYT claims happened you discover the bulk of it comes from government spending increases. Those can’t go on indefinitely, even if liberals think so, as Argentina proves yet again. And the fact remains that nobody is doing the math to figure out how this insane monetary policy impacts us. I see the dollar losing value day to day. I see inflation out there, clearly, while the LSM tells us constantly there is none of that. I see less economic growth overall, with every business, except for those doing business with the ever expanding public sector bureaucracy, in a holding pattern as they try to survive the economic calamity. You would think revelation after revelation that point out they are full of shit.

No worries. When the whole house of cards comes tumbling down, I have my investments in precious metals to keep me on top. Buy gold, silver, and lots of lead so you can make sure you keep the previous 2.

The Obama economy

If you doubt that the things the left does and claims to do to help us are having the exact opposite result, check out ZeroHedge’s post. In one month the country lost 523K full time jobs, which were replaced with almost 800K part time jobs. Do I need to mention what signature Obama progressive policies are behind this shift, or is it sinking in for people that think if government says it is free, someone else still pays for it? Next time some propagandist for the left tells you unemployment is heading in the right direction kick them in the proverbial balls (in my experience proggy women feel they have bigger balls than the proggy dudes anyway) and tell them that’s the direction we are heading in.

That was then…

Yeah, that Video is Obama back when he was telling us to believe in big nanny state collectivist government. He and his donkey horde were going to fix all the shit evil Boosh and President Cheney had broken. As I predicted then, the exact opposite happened. Progressives, like little children are masters at undermining others running government and finding everything they feel is faulty, but when they are running the show, things really go south, and go south fast and bad. Six years into the Obama years I don’t think they can keep blaming Boosh with any legitimacy outside the regular circle jerk.

Let’s face it people, Obama took all you douchebags for the dunces you are, and then did exactly what every other donkey before him did: they fucked things up beyond recognition (FUBAR). Remember that this guy has a friendly media covering for him. Things are far, far worse than they seem, and they seem really fucked up.

There is a reason people like me know the scariest words in the English language are “We are from the government and we are here to help you”, and that is because government – especially progressive government – services its citizens like a bull services a cow.

Speaking of which…

The other day I walked into a bar and heard three real portly ladies talking with what I assumed was a Scottish accent. Always curious about other people and cultures, I greeted them with a cool “Pardon me you ladies, are you perhaps Scottish?”, only to be rebuffed. One of them looked at me with disdain, rolled her eyes, then told me in a nasty voice “It’s Whales you fool!”. Me always being a gentleman and not minding being corrected, apologized and asked them “Pardon me you whales, are you perhaps Scottish?”…..

Ah, the age of Obama.

Another myth about “The Party of the Little People” getting busted?

And it is about time. People are wizening to the fact the people ripping them off the hardest are those that have been claiming, for decades, to be on their side and they are not happy. It is not a mistake that when progressives grab power, the policies they put into place to redress the wrongs they constantly harp about, actually do the exact opposite of what they tell everyone they want to do. The last few years, with democrats controlling the purse stings and calling all the shots, after their policies were instrumental in creating a crisis they then conveniently blamed only the other side for, have been disastrous for everyone but the connected and those voting for a living.

The number of poor and people out of work and/or sucking on the government teat has grown drastically to numbers that are staggering. Our economy has taken a beating of epic proportions – while the people that set the policies up that caused the damage and keep causing the damage pretend it is everyone else’s fault- and looks to only get worse. Real unemployment numbers are hidden by a formula that discounts those that no longer get assistance or can’t find any work but part time work, and the numbers of people unable to find jobs or improve their existing conditions keep rising. Our healthcare system has been taken over by government, and from the looks of how government does things, we are all about to pay far, far more, for far, far less quality, access, or care. all while slamming both economic productivity and opportunity for all people. The middle class is under assault from a welfare state that punishes anyone that decides to engage in a responsible and grown up way, while rewarding every sort of dysfunction and of instant gratification. And anyone that tries to bring these things to light, defies them, or stands in their way, risks brutal retaliation from these members of the “Party of the little People”.

The lies that democrats, which claim to be just one of the normal people, but are anything but, are unraveling finally. If you want to get rich, you go into government. If you want to get stinking rich, get to fuck over people, and keep pretending you are just a little guy or care for the little guy while living like kings, you go into government as a democrat. Like communism, which promised the common man equality and opportunity previously denied, but then delivered him to unbelievable misery under a new and crueler set of masters, the progressive movement can only deliver more of the same. Nobody beats the democrats at abuse of power, corruption, and criminal activity. I think that for anyone that isn’t blinded by partisan politics the revelations of the current administration’s incessant criminality all but puts that debate to rest. But the believers want to believe, and nothing will dissuade them, even as the future with the left in charge is playing out on a micro scale for all to see.

So, queue in the Clintons and their recent defense of their wealthy and cushy life. This will be the Obamas in a few years. These are the great defenders of the common man. Now if only the idiots that suck these people’s dicks and ask for seconds could wizen up. We might yet have a chance to stave off the coming apocalypse caused by decades of these people “helping the little guy”. Beware the do-gooder, for they are usually charlatans, and be doubly weary of the true believer, because these type of fanatics are those that will bring the most misery thinking they are doing something righteous.

Progressives and their money…

I have always held the belief that today’s modern left is simply a modern day version of the old and corrupt aristocratic members of the feudal or guild systems of the middle ages – entities that closely guarded access to the benefits that membership provided, while lording it over everyone – and amounts to nothing but a protection racket for the connected. The progressive oligarchy smartened up however, knowing that simply doing business as usual, basically maintaining and growing its power and wealth, as was done on the olden days was not going to work. So instead of risking the mob turning on them, they shifted gears, pretending to help the less fortunate, while keeping business as usual. Don’t take my word for it.

Under Black Jesus, the super-rich have accumulated wealth at a pace that would have the progressives, both in politics and in the media (yeah, I know they are practically all progressive retards there), howling mad if the WH was occupied by a guy with an (R) next to their name. This has coincided with policy shifts that have drastically grown the handout class. More people than ever are now on some form of public assistance, primarily because the economy has been castrated and employment, especially full time high paying jobs in the private sector have all but dried up, and that number only looks to grow larger. Between the insane money borrowing & printing policies that are driving up our debt at an insane pace that makes anything that came before look tame, causing drastic inflation that we keep getting told is not happening by our political masters while the dollar’s power dwindles, and the anti-business vote buying schemes and scams like Obamacare, I remain surprised at the strength of our private sector’s ability to weather this storm.

But while these progressive policies are helping the ultra-rich get richer and keep power, by expanding the “Vote for a living” class membership, the real power behind America’s exceptionalism and economic success, the middle class, is getting destroyed. Of course, the truth is that all leftists systems end like this. Look at communism for the proof. From the old USSR, Cuba, and North Korea, as examples of abject failures, to more successful entities like China, the fact is that these progressive systems are based on a 2 class system. The first is the obvious oligarchy that runs the place and has all the power and wealth. They don’t have to won it directly, but people know better. Then you have the serfs: the rest of the schnooks that are fed a constant line of populist and anti-capitalism line bullshit, do all the work – when you can get them to work for the peanuts they get paid while struggling to get basic necessities – and reap none of the rewards, unless you think a reeducation camp, a gulag, or a bullet to the head is a reward.

Socialism is not much better. Look at Venezuela or any of those Arab oil states. Sure, our resident libs love to tell us about Israel, New Zealand, or Europe, but the truth is they are doing nothing more than the progressives in the 70s and 80s did in the US writ places like New York State, Michigan, Illinois, and California. Back then the progs told us all how their policies were directly responsible for the economic growth and success these places experienced, and even if there was a nugget of truth to it, today every one of these states or fiefdoms is facing hard times and bankruptcy. Most European socialist states are unraveling as well. That’s because this shit doesn’t work. You can’t keep borrowing and pushing the responsibility to pay the debt on others, all so you can prop up a system that pretends to do what it does to help people, but rarely does anything of the sort. Collectivism doesn’t work. And there is no room for a middle class in any of these progressive systems.

So why this long rant? Well, the whole thing is a setup for another obvious instance of the left’s double standards. What else do you call the revelation that people that advocate wealth redistribution policies but then work hard to avoid them for themselves ?

Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate tax to prevent the U.S. from being dominated by inherited wealth. That doesn’t mean they want to pay it.

To reduce the tax pinch, the Clintons are using financial planning strategies befitting the top 1 percent of U.S. households in wealth. These moves, common among multimillionaires, will help shield some of their estate from the tax that now tops out at 40 percent of assets upon death.

The Clintons created residence trusts in 2010 and shifted ownership of their New York house into them in 2011, according to federal financial disclosures and local property records.

Among the tax advantages of such trusts is that any appreciation in the house’s value can happen outside their taxable estate. The move could save the Clintons hundreds of thousands of dollars in estate taxes, said David Scott Sloan, a partner at Holland & Knight LLP in Boston.

“The goal is really be thoughtful and try to build up the nontaxable estate, and that’s really what this is,” Sloan said. “You’re creating things that are going to be on the nontaxable side of the balance sheet when they die.”

The Clintons’ finances are receiving attention as Hillary Clinton tours the country promoting her book, “Hard Choices.” She said in an interview on ABC television that the couple was “dead broke” and in debt when they left the White House in early 2001. After being criticized for her comments, she told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that she understood the financial struggles of Americans

Look, I am not denying anyone the right to try and keep as much of their income as possible. But if you ever had perfect examples of the progressive movement’s bad guys, your stereotypical robber barons, it’s the Clintons. They have made a ton of money out of being politically powerful and connected, and have done so while decrying that very practice. It’s the same hypocritical shit that allows someone like Michael Moore to get stinking rich making idiotic and pedantic bullshit they pass off a serious documentary reporting, but amount to nothing more than ranting against the very system that allows him to rake in the cash. It’s despicable.

One set of rules for thee, and another for the progressive oligarchy. Now I can understand their motivations. What I don’t understand is how the people that lap up the class warfare cock these oligarchs use to maintain their grip on power and their exclusive clubs don’t see through it. At least the other such two tiered systems didn’t make any bones about the motivation of the people in power like any of the collectivist systems the progressive movement so love does.

Seriously? This is news how?

Gallup has a poll/study titled “In U.S., Depression Rates Higher for Long-Term Unemployed” which makes the claim that “Mental health poorest among those jobless for six months or more” as seen here:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The longer that Americans are unemployed, the more likely they are to report signs of poor psychological well-being. About one in five Americans who have been unemployed for a year or more say they currently have or are being treated for depression — almost double the rate among those who have been unemployed for five weeks or less.

These findings are based on surveys with 356,599 Americans, including 18,322 unemployed adults, conducted in 2013 as part of the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.

Gallup finds that unemployed Americans are more than twice as likely as those with full-time jobs to say they currently have or are being treated for depression — 12.4% vs. 5.6%, respectively. However, the depression rate among the long-term unemployed — which the Bureau of Labor Statistics defines as those who have been seeking work for 27 weeks or more — jumps to 18.0%.

Is this another incidence of common sense seems fleeting to these people? Look, nothing is more devastating to someone that feels pride in doing work and taking care of themselves than the ability to do that. None of the bullshit “safety nets” put in by liberals can compete with the ability to actually stay gainfully employed by people that value such a thing. Sure, if you are one of those perpetually sucking at the government teat types, depression will come when you no longer can mooch off the productive, but I fucking could care less about those people being depressed. In fact, I would love to see a whole lot more of that, and a lot less formerly productive people being depressed because economy crushing psuedo-marxist-fascist nanny state progressive government expansion have ravaged the employment landscape.

Nothing is free. No system that rewards negative behavior will ever do anything but encourage more of it, no matter how noble the intent behind it. Life is harsh. People that want to forget or mitigate that always make it worse. Ben Franklin pointed out how one should never trade freedom for security, because you would end up with less of either, but I think this philosophy applies in a far broader sense than he meant it (or perhaps as we understood what he meant).

Our current social system is broken. It doesn’t exist to serve those productive members of society that are temporarily afflicted with bad luck or circumstances that require them to seek help – in fact, it often punishes those people, harshly, requiring them to lose everything before they qualify for help – and actually exists to prop up an ever growing segment of people that feel entitled to the fruits of other people’s labor, simply by the virtue that they were born. Romney got demonized, obviously by the special interests that gain the most from the existing broken system, for pointing out that a very dangerously large portion of our population now votes for a living, but he was dead on. Unemployment compensation, food stamps, and any other such government assistance are a poor substitute for gainful employment, but you can’t buy votes from people that have economic freedom and don’t want to be ripped off by your unicorn fart sniffing cult.

The most important thing that our government should have been doing over the last 6 years was to make changes that would encourage economic growth and employment. Instead they pretended to implement things to “help” people that did the exact opposite and cost us economic growth. And that was all done while incurring massive and insurmountable new debt levels. Obamacare is the biggest economy killing government scam to come our way. We should get used to European level unemployment here, as this system can’t avoid causing that, while watching the quality, access to care, and improvement of care go down, while costs, waiting times, and pain go up. Don’t take my word for it: the horrible happenings that amount to the VA scandal, which was so conveniently removed from the public eye recently, is Obamacare as a Proof of Concept. And Obamacare has plenty of help from other economy crushing progressive agenda schemes and scams, like the recent EPA regulations that have continued to make the cost of energy skyrocket.

Unemployed, and those unemployed for a long time, are going to be depressed. They have been robbed of their dignity by a system that feels it is more important to protect those that vote to keep the nanny state big and fat than to actually help them.

Are we there yet?

While desperate democrats, worried about the well-deserved shellacking that should be coming their way in the election at the end of this year, are desperately pissing away tax payer dollars to ward off the disastrous consequences of their economic policies, the truth about how horrible the impact on said policies on the economy is can’t be hidden:

Despite adding more than 8 million people to the working-age population since 2007, total employment has declined by half a million, according to an analysis by the Senate Budget Committee.

Before President Barack Obama took office 259.7 million people were part of the working-age population, or between ages 16 and 65. Now, the number has risen to 267.7 million.

However, in the same time period, total employment declined from 146.3 million to 145.7 million. In other words, 531,000 fewer people have jobs.

“This statistic highlights an alarming trend that has embodied the president’s economic policies: more and more people are leaving the workforce entirely,” according to the analysis, which was released by Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.). “There are 58 million working-age people who are not working, and the labor force participation rate stands at 62.8 percent, the lowest level in 36 years.”

And while most leftards would point out s large chunk of those that have left the workforce are now on some form of government assistance, be it unemployment compensation, which usually means they are subsiding on a fraction of what they should be earning in a decent economy, disability – lots of people are scamming the system after their unemployment benefits end, and filing for SS disability to cover the income gap caused by class warfare economics – or the traditional welfare system that has bought democrats such power. Wait until the unconstitutional and soon to come “we get to pick who wins and who loses” regulations by the EPA (where they work real hard and are so righteous), or the fallout from the employer mandate (not to be confused as two employed guys going out on a date) of Obamacare pile on and double down on the economy wrecking. You would have thunk people would learn from the Carter years what happens when democrats do their thing.

At least there is some justice in the universe, as one of Obama’s main voting blocks also is the one feeling the most pain from his idiotic economic-illiterate class warfare policies. A large swat of these poor dolts could benefit from finding out that they have been sold a bunch of lies about college by the class warriors, and a whole lot of other marxist and green loving nonsense that passes for being educated these days. The left is beyond stupid, and they are not even bright enough to realize they are the ones suffering the most while their masters get rich.

What’s the definition of insanity again?

My best take on that is the failures of Keynesian economics, and the fact that the left, constantly enacting economic growth crushing, marxist wealth redistribution class warfare schemes and scams, soul sucking legislation and policies, by fiat these days, has decided that the cure for the damage these ludicrous divide & conquer opportunities to waste and steal tax payer money cause, is to piss away even more tax payer money.

Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen made it clear she believes the economy still requires a strong dose of stimulus five years after the recession ended because unemployment and inflation are well short of the Fed’s goals.

“A high degree of monetary accommodation remains warranted,” Yellen said today in testimony to the Joint Economic Committee of Congress. “Many Americans who want a job are still unemployed,” and inflation is below the central bank’s 2 percent target, she said.

Yellen highlighted weaknesses in the labor market, such as the number of long-term unemployed, even as the economic outlook improves. The Treasury market yield curve steepened after her comments tempered expectations among some investors for a faster pace of interest-rate increases.

“She wants to reiterate that there are still challenges, we’re not out of the woods yet, and it’s too early to think about starting to remove accommodation,” said Michelle Meyer, a senior U.S. economist at Bank of America Corp. in New York. “She put the labor-market recovery in historical context, which is that there are still a lot of scars left from the incredibly deep recession.”

I wish these fucking retards would admit that these “challenges” are the direct results of their class warfare, wealth redistribution policies, the most damaging one right now, by orders of magnitude compared to the shit done to appease the AGW cultists by the EPA or the small business crushing regulations of Dodd-Frank that do nothing to prevent yet another such lending collapse, being Obamacare. So the damage caused by failed wealth redistribution policies and government, in general, pissing away billions, is to piss away more billions. It’s like nobody remembers the years after the 1929 crash, where similar Fed policy dragged out the recession for decades, until WWII saved the US economic bacon.

All that pumping by the Feds accomplishes is to delay the inevitable, while allowing the Feds to hide how economically ruinous the policies of the last 6 years have been. It creates an artificial sense of well-being by keeping the markets fooled and hiding inflationary effects. In the meantime the dollar keeps losing value, reflected in the fact that while the value our investments have supposedly gone up, the purchasing power has gone down, by more, and the national debt keeps growing by at least a billion each year. The obvious larding of the campaign coffers and personal bank accounts of various democrat politicians and their family members, their close and connected friends and interests, and any organization that helps benefit the hold of the democrats on power, however is taboo to mention. But there is an election to steal soon, and the democrats need as much cover as they can get before then. The cost to the tax payers or America in general, be damned.
