Oh, To Be A Fly On The Wall

There have been many despicable all together repulsive total pieces of garbage masquerading as human beings that have walked the earth. But in contemporary times, few have disgusted more folks than Fred Phelps, well, he is no more;

The Rev. Fred Phelps Sr., the fiery founder of a small Kansas church who drew international condemnation for outrageous and hate-filled protests that blamed almost everything, including the deaths of AIDS victims and U.S. soldiers, on America’s tolerance for gay people, has died. He was 84.

I have written about Fred often here on this blog. I not only found his antics disgusting, but his logic flawed, and his cowardly position of doing God’s work, as just so wrongheaded. It was obvious to me from the beginning that he was off his rocker and seriously mentally deranged, but his message was so hateful and misguided that it was ney impossible to show compassion for this feeble minded idiot.

Most of the blogs I have read today are peppered with comments about Phelps burning in hell. I try to stay clear of any individual’s salvation, that is always between him and his maker, but the conversation that ensued as Phelps sat before God in judgement, just the thought of that gets my ears a burning. Sure, he would have pity on the mentally ill, but the other outcome, if Phelps knew what he was doing, adds new meaning to ,”God have mercy on your soul”.

I am glad to see him gone, removed from any more damage and heartache he has caused in the past. And hopefully his followers, if there are any, will get a life and a better understanding of the religion they profess to obey.
