Right Thinking From The Left Coast
"To what purpose are powers limited, and to what purpose is that limitation committed to writing,
if these limits may, at any time, be passed by those intended to be restrained?"

Winter Nannyland

What happens when cops have way too much free time on their hands.

The nannies in Wisconsin have uncovered the latest form of PHFWH — people having fun without helmets — sledding.

Well, we can’t allow PHFWH, can we?

And so the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel set out to investigate this scandal a-brewing.

Apparently the newspaper could not find anyone who died while sledding sans helmet. But it did find a woman who “has speech and coordination issues” after hitting a tree trunk while in a snow tube four years ago while sledding.

Around midnight.

So now the push is on to have people wear helmets. Radar has shown sled can go as fast as 19 MPH.

“The challenge that we face is that it’s not the norm - nor is it likely to ever be the norm - for kids to wear helmets while sledding,” said Bridget Clementi, injury and prevention manager at Children’s Hospital and Health System. “We don’t want to kill the fun, but we are starting to look at reaching out to parents on sledding safety.”

The local constabulary are using radar guns. For sledding. “You! On the toboggan! This is the Sled Police! Pull over!”
