Weekend at Osama’s
by Lee

Our good friends over at al-Jism are planning on broadcasting an alleged video greeting card from a dead man.

Arab satellite television Al Jazeera said Friday it would broadcast a video tape from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) addressing the American people, four days before the U.S. presidential election.

It said the tape, to be aired at 4 p.m. EDT, would discuss the reasons behind the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States that killed nearly 3,000 people and their repercussions.

An editor at Al Jazeera said the Qatar-based channel had received the tape earlier Friday but did not say how. He said the tape was new but did not give any details.

I still think he is dead, and that this is going to turn out to be old footage of him cut into a new video, or a couple of his followers doing a Weekend at Bernie’s type thing.  But I could be wrong.

Update: I’m watching the newsfeed right now, and it looks legit to me.  I’ll be damned.

Update 2: From what I can tell so far the main thrust of bin Laden’s argument is that we will never be secure by fighting back, and that the best policy is to elect leaders that will completely ignore everything going on in the Middle East.  So, we should pull our al our troops, leave Israel flapping in the breeze, and let the region fall into theocratic anarchy.  In other words, we should implment the very plan that Michael Moore and the rest of the America-hating left have been calling on since 9/11.

Lok, we’re a long way past the day when we could trust terrorists not to attack us.  Are we really expected to base our national security on the word of OBL that they won’t attack us as long as we do what he says?  Fuck him, and fuck all his followers.  Kill them all.
