Now this is an interesting revelation.
In a statement [Brig. Gen. Jay] Hood said his investigation “revealed a consistent, documented policy of respectful handling of the Qur’an dating back almost two and a half years.”
He said only five incidents could be confirmed during that time of American personnel mishandling the Qur’an. He said he found 15 cases of detainees mishandling their own Qur’ans, including “attempting to flush a Qur’an down the toilet and urinating on the Qur’an.”
The statement did not provide any explanation about why the detainees might have abused their own holy books.
Note the media circus involving the five alleged incidents, yet the only news report I’ve seen thus far that mentions prisoners abusing their own Korans is this one from the CBC. Think this will receive a fraction of the press the five confirmed incidents will receive? Me neither.
And what is this “Qur’an” shit? How the hell do you pronounce that? KORAN. What kind of politically correct idiocy makes you take a word that people have been writing and pronouncing correctly for hundreds of years—“Koran”—and make a ridiculous, impossible-to-read hyphenated dog turd like we see here? Honestly, if you had never read the word “Koran” before and you saw someone write “Qur’an”, how would you pronounce it?
