So Long, Margaret
by Lee

Things aren’t looking good for the charity worker kidnapped by the Religion of Peace™.

The family of Margaret Hassan, an aid worker abducted in Iraq last month, said on Tuesday they believed she was dead.

A statement from Hassan’s four brothers and sisters was released by Britain’s foreign office.

“Our hearts are broken,” it said.

“We have kept hoping for as long as we could, but we now have to accept that Margaret has probably gone and at last her suffering has ended.”

Hassan, 59, country director in Iraq for the charity Care International, was kidnapped by armed men who stopped her car as she was going to work in Baghdad on October 19.

She held British, Irish and Iraqi nationality, was married to an Iraqi and had lived in Iraq for 30 years.

The family’s statement did not indicate why they now believed Hassan was dead, but said: “Those who are guilty of this atrocious act, and those who support them, have no excuses.

“Nobody can justify this. Margaret was against sanctions and the war. [Emphasis added]

See, this gets to the heart of the problem, and it is what so many liberals just don’t get.  They think that the actions of the men who did this are, in some way, rational, as retribution for sanctions or the war.  This has NOTHING to do with sanctions.  This has to do with some evil bastards who want to destroy everything that liberal western democratic society has to offer, and they are willing to execute anyone or commit any atrocity in order to achieve that goal.  To the men who commit these acts there is absolutely no difference between a warmongering American and a pacifist Brit.  In both cases we embody everything that they despise, and both will be treated with equal levels of contempt and hatred.

As soon as the left begins to appreciate the ground rules set forth by the enemy, maybe they’ll begin to grasp the scope of the threat we’re up against.
