I Will Rant No More Forever
by Lee

Everyone’s favorite nouveau Republican, Dennis Miller, has been cancelled.

CNBC is canceling comic Dennis Miller’s low-rated political talk show after less than 16 months, replacing it with a business show rerun.

Miller’s prime-time program, featuring a mixture of comedy, interviews and his conservative political opinion, was seen by an average of 168,000 viewers since its January 2004 launch, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That number has dipped to 114,000 this year with the presidential election campaign over.

His show, seen at 9 p.m. EDT, will be replaced by a rerun of “Mad Money with Jim Cramer,” three hours after its original airing.

I just got in from work, and the Dennis Miller show is on my TiVo.  Tonight’s episode featured radio talk show host Doug McIntyre; author Ann Louise Bardach; author Dennis Boyles; journalist Linda Ellerbee; and actor Zach Galifianakis.

Wow.  With star power like that, what the hell is CNBC thinking?  Okay, seriously, they could have pulled five people out of the audience and random and had a more interesting show that what they booked.

Poor Dennis.  I’ve been a fan of his for years.  He should never have left his HBO show.  He should have just stayed there, making his millions of dollars, and ridden that horse until it died of exhaustion.
