Right Thinking From The Left Coast
"To what purpose are powers limited, and to what purpose is that limitation committed to writing,
if these limits may, at any time, be passed by those intended to be restrained?"

Farewell Falwell?
by Lee

Everyone’s favorite fundie dickhead is not of this earth for much longer.

Ron Godwin, the university’s executive vice president, said Falwell, 73, was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but he said Falwell “has a history of heart challenges.”

“I had breakfast with him, and he was fine at breakfast,” Godwin said. “He went to his office, I went to mine, and they found him unresponsive.”

Godwin said Falwell was receiving emergency care. A hospital spokeswoman said she had “no information to release at this time.”

I can say only one thing.  Falwell is 75.  Perhaps there’s some truth to the phrase “Only the good die young.”

Update: And it’s official:  he’s dead.  I’m not a believer in an afterlife, but if there is one I hope it is one Falwell finds truly repugnant, so that he can spent the rest of eternity in the type of divine misery he has made a career threatening the rest of us with.

On the positive side, that’s one fundie asshole down.  Now all we have to do is wait for God to call home Pat Robertson and we’ll be making some real progress.

Update 2: How great would it be if hell was the Teletubbies, and Falwell had to spend eternity being done up the pooper by Tinky Winky.
