"To what purpose are powers limited, and to what purpose is that limitation committed to writing,
if these limits may, at any time, be passed by those intended to be restrained?"
-- Chief Justice John Marshall, Marbury v. Madison, 1803
I bagged on Australia when the state of Victoria introduced sword control legislation, but it looks like they might have been ahead of the curve.
A man was stabbed to death with some type of sword Friday, police told News2Houston.
Masis Avanesian, 35, had an argument with another man when the man pulled out a swordlike weapon and slashed him numerous times, investigators said.
It happened around 1 a.m. in the 4800 block of Fannin at the entrance to a vacant building.
Avanesian was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he later died.
The answer to the sword problem? Move to glorious sword-free Australia. They’ve got draconian gun control as well as sword control, so nobody ever gets killed there by any means whatsoever.
