The Good Life
by Lee

Ah, the joys of SoCal living.  I went to work today wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops.  Now all I need is a margarita.

Shaken or blended?  I prefer shaken if I’m making classic margaritas:

1 measure gold tequila
2 measures margarita mix
1 measure orange curacao
splash of orange juice
lots of large ice cubes

Shake vigorously for at least 1 minute

Pour into a glass with at least two slices of fresh cut lime.

I probably could get you an offer depending what you do Jason..

Lee, Drum and john are REALLY ratcheting up the banter over there.

Is there any chance of a truce between you two rivalling Sunni and Shi’ite factions? :-)

I have nothing against either of them.  They;re welcome any time.  But if they think I’m going to refrain from calling them on their bullshit then they’re sadly mistaken.

If they want to act like a bunch of pissed off teenage girls over there, let them have their fun.

Too funny. well, we’re all big boys and girls.

I guess I see how they could harbor the opinion they do, but we all seem to be investing all too much effort in deciding what party line opinions we have make us.

It’s a very wierd issue being played out even in congress. I recently saw that Bush’s plan to fund Georgia’s healthcare welfare system was 5billion based upon a request from Georgia for 30 billion.

On the surface, a conservative would praise the under-delivery by the administration for thier stance. Less is more. But it was the (fellow conservative and Bush friend) governer? of Georgia who offered an interesting viewpoint regarding the issue.

He said the Bush administration was wrong in it’s decision not for the under-bidding but for the reasons that for the sake of fiscal conservatism, it was a poor choice. He sighted that medical problems compound in expense due to the deterioration in health/independence one experiences, and many medical problems can be cured cheaply and easily when caught fast and young. He argued the decision ulitmately would cost the state and federal governments quite a bit more in the long run.

I don’t know if it means anything, but there are definitely reforms in progress among conservative thinking, and more and more often important bedrocks will take a bold=suicide stance from the conservative frey.

Compassion seems to elude many conservatives, except in the cases where the bible or god tells us to do so.

I just think it’s funny when people leave claiming that the tone or lack of civility on the part of Lee or other commenters is what drove them away when it’s so obvious that they just weren’t hearing a affirmation of their beliefs anymore.

Admittedly, this place can be fucking hostile and I’m guilty of being overly sarcastic or mean on occasion but if you’re expecting some big “conservative” circle jerk, you’re delusional.

Some people leave when their ego is no longer stroked to the degree in which they’ve become accustomed.

I used to be a regular here, then became an occasional lurker, and now I’m coming back more often. I think the best thing that’s happened here lately is that most of the egos have left—it still gets hostile at times, but a lot of the arrogance has dissipated, which was far more irritating to me and made this blog (particularly the comments) practically unreadable.

Bah.. I wear shorts and a T-shirt (or a polo shirt) pretty much every day.  Never been a sandals man, sneakers for me.

Even when it’s cold out, I usually wear the same because I’m actually out in the weather for about 2 minutes total, and the rest of the time I’m in a comfortable office, or my home, or car.. so I’d rather be comfortable.

Of course, I work somewhere where you can tell who’s interviewing by who has a suit on.  I’m actually usually better dressed when I wear the polo shirts.

well, I’m sure it adds traffic and creates a diversion for the readers to vent upping the comments.

At the expense of you, of course.

Drumwaster just fucking bored me - predictable, frequently devoid of logic, insulting, and with a bad habit of not remembering who posted what, so his rants were typically delivered at the wrong individual (me, at least twice).  He was also incapable of admitting mistakes or apologizing.

Never could figure out why he was here so much, he has his own blog.....

Phooey on you, Lee, at least you’ve got dry heat (one of the things I miss about San Diego was the weather).

BTW, in case you missed it, Bloomberg has left the building.

Drummy had that annoying habit of refusing to answer questions. He never had the balls to back up his statements.

I lurked for a few months and then finally registered during an insult thread.  I told everyone I thought they were dogshit.  And I believe it was Manwhore who said to me..."Jeebus dakrat stick around and you’ll fit right in...” I’ve been here ever since.

More from Bloomberg: DAMN STRAIGHT.

Because his own blog takes so fucking long to load in his own browser, even when it is hosted in his bedroom. Michelle Malkin has the same problem. I totally hate that witch’s website which loads at the same speed as Congressionally funded border fence construction.

Never could figure out why [Drumwaster] was here so much, he has his own blog.....

Take some cell phone pics for us so we can be even more jealous than we already are.

“Jeebus dakrat stick around and you’ll fit right in...”

I marginally remember that thread. Haha..... I wish we could dig that thread up. I think a kid registered in that thread and I insulted him/her so bad they left on that very same day from the same thread.

I’m actually laughing right now at the thought of causing so much offense, so quickly.
