A member of The Backstreet Boys is looking for Christian music’s next star in talent competition dubbed “Gifted.”

Brian Littrell (luh-TREL’) will host an “American Idol” type of talent show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network in March.

The search began this week in Phoenix and continues across the country—including at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio and Faith Family Church in Victoria.

Contestants sing a cappella versions of classic hymns such as “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.” Local winners advance to regional contests.

Eight finalists will be chosen from the regionals for the T-V show, where celebrity judges will pick the overall winner.

I can’t wait to see the fundamentalist Christian version of Simon Cowell.  “You sound like Satan crawled up your ass and came out your throat.”

So, the Backstreet Boy who isn’t individually famous got some religion and decided that he’d had enough screwing the underage girls.  Or maybe they wouldn’t give him any anymore.  Or maybe he got VD and got scared straight.  At any rate, does a celebrity who needs a pronunciation guide even count?  This is a dead horse.  Let him enjoy 14:59 of what never was and let him spend his hundreds of dollars before he starts work at Big Lots next week.
