I think the McCain campaign is getting a tad desperate:

The McCain campaign is now broadening their attack on Obama’s past association with William Ayers to include Michelle Obama—even though McCain has repeatedly said spouses should be off limits during the campaign.

The attack? Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers’ wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to work in 1984 for the major Chicago-based national law firm of Sidley & Austin, and three years later, Michelle joined the mega-firm as well.

So this is...Lawyergate? To use McCain’s logic, he was in the Naval Academy at about the same time that Lee Harvey Oswald was serving in the Marines. They are both branches of the same service. Therefore, McCain is partly responsible for the death of John F. Kennedy.

Seriously, this is turning into Six Degrees of Separation territory here.

If the McCain campaign needs something to work with it appears Obama may be actively meddling in the Iraq negotiation. That’s not good…

Sidley & Austin is one of the world’s largest law firms, with offices in twenty countries.

They’re known as a conservative law firm, and their Sr. Partners are some of the biggest contributors in GOP politics.

This is just more desperation.
