"To what purpose are powers limited, and to what purpose is that limitation committed to writing,
if these limits may, at any time, be passed by those intended to be restrained?"
-- Chief Justice John Marshall, Marbury v. Madison, 1803
California, another resounding gun control success!
Violence took a murderous toll in California’s largest cities and counties last year as the homicide rate soared nearly 11 percent, the state attorney general’s office said Sunday.
The largest cities and counties reported 1,842 killings from January through December 2002 - 179 more than in 2001, according to preliminary figures.
“We must never forget the pain that each of these killings causes for families and communities,” Attorney General Bill Lockyer said in a statement.
How about you think of all these families, Bill, the next time you do all you can to make sure that they can’t defend themselves? Sanctimonious prick.
