"To what purpose are powers limited, and to what purpose is that limitation committed to writing,
if these limits may, at any time, be passed by those intended to be restrained?"
-- Chief Justice John Marshall, Marbury v. Madison, 1803
If only we could get rid of the courge of private ownership of firearms, then incidents like this one in the gun-free utopia of England would never happen here.
A HOME OWNER has told how her husband fended off intruders with two Samurai swords.
Pat Hammonds, 58, was attacked by one of three masked thugs as her husband Cedric, 60, defended her with the weapons.
But he was ‘thrown like a feather’ to the ground and stabbed with a screwdriver in a hand he was using to shield his chest.
‘They made us feel scared in our own home,’ said Mrs Hammonds.
The couple were robbed on Tuesday in Cannock, Staffordshire. The raiders escaped.
A few years ago my parents were living in Indonesia, back when they were having the riots after Suharto was removed from power. Worrying that the riots would end up in the American part of town, dad went out and bought the best weapon he could find: a samurai sword. He never had to use it, but he said he had it at the ready in case anyone tried to get into the house.
It’s too bad this poor old bastard had to resort to using a sword to save himself. Perhaps the UK should install a police camera in his living room.
