His Clean and Articulate Elegantness Strikes Again
by

For all the flack that Bush deservedly got for malapropisms and mangling the English language, the most curious (and inaccurate) meme constructed by the left about Obama is that he is a smooth, articulate speaker.  It’s total bullshit, of course--a quick internet search will bring up any number of Obama’s flubs, especially when his teleprompter goes on the fritz or isn’t there as a safety valve.  Given how much unemployment has gone up since he took office, his actions during the notorious 60 Minutes interview look even more ridiculous.

Well, the euphoria of walking on the same grounds as Lenin and Stalin must have made Obama dizzy, because it caused him to utter this Freudian slip : (via Reuters)

MOSCOW (Reuters) - In a slip of the tongue, U.S. President Barack Obama described Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday as president, echoing the widely held view that he remains Russia’s most powerful man....

At a news conference Obama gave a carefully worded reply about the effectiveness of the leadership tandem when a U.S. journalist bluntly asked “who is really in charge here in Russia?”

But minutes later, speaking about Medvedev’s objections to a controversial missile defense system planned for central Europe, Obama slipped:

“I suspect when I speak to President..eh.. Prime Minister Putin tomorrow, he will say the same thing.”

I guess when the questions at the press conference aren’t pre-arranged, fuck-ups are bound to happen.

I don’t know, it’s kind of pushing it with saying he screwed up here, but I’m sure it would have been added to the list if Bush said it. Personally, my opinion of Obama would have gone up considerably if he would have said

“I suspect when I speak to [Puppet Master] Putin tomorrow, he will say the same thing.”

If Bush had said the exact same stupid things that Obama usually does I guarantee you the press and the left would have pilloried him. It would be non stop talk about how lacking in intelligence he was. Biden and Obama lie and say such off the wall dumb things constantly, and yet you have leftists telling us how intelligent they are and how lucky we are to have them in charge. When you point out that they seem to have no clue what they are doing, or worse, that they are wrecking the country on purpose, and that their policies are destined to fail, the only answer is that its Bush’s fault. Remind them that Bush has not made any serious decisions since around December last year, and that things are projected to get much, much worse because of their geniuses actions, and you get called a racist.

Again, most of the world, and especially the vilest and most oppressive thugs, were absolutely ecstatic about the Obama election. The left tells us it is because they see a chance for a better future. What they never spell out is that the “better future” that they see, and one I am now also suspecting that the left wants, is one where America has become a bankrupt third world socialist sh*thole and no longer has the capability to prevent these thugs from doing whatever they want.

Any mistake by Bush was proof he was an idiot.  Any mistake by Obama is either a clever, self-deprecating joke showing he’s just a average joe, or an honest mistake meaning nothing (also not worth reporting).

This is well established by now.  We’d still be hearing about it if Bush had claimed there were more than 50 states, or started reading from someone elses speech, effectively thanking himself for showing up, or wished anyone a happy 4th of the 5th of May, etc.

Republican slipups = idiocy.  Democrat slipups = nuance.

This sort of thing is part of what gives Ann Coulter so much lovely free ammunition---the way the press, which is supposed to be neutral, runs endless interference for Democrats while savaging Republicans at every turn.

In terms of media bias/worship, I’m still trying to figure out whether this was satire. God I hope so.
