Cage Match

For those of you who are into wrestling (and I am not, haven’t watched it since I was a teenager), wrestler Chris Benoit is dead.  Apparently he, his wife, and son are the result of a murder suicide at their Atlanta home.  Our beloved webmaster JimK is a HUGE wrasslin’ fan, so I’m sure there’ll be lots of discussion over at his site.

I’ve been following this story throghout the night; apparently Benoit canceled an appearance at a PPV for “personal reasons.” He seemed like a good guy and was a great wrestler; something inside of him must have seriously snapped. ‘Roid rage?

Noone there was shot or stabbed, which would seem to point to him as the perp.  I doubt his wife or son could take him on in a strangling or hang him.

This is crazy stuff.

My first on-line writing was a wrestling website, and this is a surprise, since this guy was known as a professional and a family guy to the backstage people.

It also is a kick in the ass to the WWE, because they were running a ‘murder/homicide’ angle with Vince McMahon.

This is gonna suck.

He was one of the good ones; not a prima-donna, not a fatass who did nothing but throw fake punches; he actually had wrestling talent, did his job without complaints, did his stints as a “heel” as happily as his “face” time.  This really really sucks.

I’ll go ahead and be an ass here.

If only there were laws restricting the manufacturing of pillows.  Or ropes.  Or large, strong beefy hands capable of strangling someone.  Then none of this would’ve happened!
