BWS:  Bush Worship Syndrome
by Lee

For quite some time the ultimate example of Bush boot-licking, toadyism, and general delusion went to Powerline for this gem.

It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can’t get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new winner, and it comes from—who else—Hugh Hewitt.

The next president has got to chose a vice president as skilled as Cheney and a team as experienced as that which was around President Bush after 9/11 if only because the scale of the responsibility is so great and the need for clear thinking so profound. The people diseased with BDS will never get this, but the country is extraordinarily blessed to have had President Bush and Vice President Cheney and their senior aides during these first few years of a very long war.

I love it.  “The people diseased with BDS.” This from a man who would literally fellate the president if requested.

Update: And let’s not forget the classic Hewitt satire which is eerily dead-on accurate.

Shit Sandwich Suprisingly Tasty; I Give It A B+

I know what you’re thinking: “Why should I try a shit sandwich?” I might have felt the same way a few days ago, but now I’m a believer.

I was chatting with an administration insider over the weekend. During a sidebar in the conversation, it was intimated to me that President Bush’s favorite late-night snack was a “shit sandwich” with tartar sauce on the side. That encouraged me to give it a shot with an open mind. I know the president is intuitive yet discriminating in his choices, and isn’t afraid to go against the conventional wisdom. He also needs a lot of energy to get up early and fight the GWOT each day.

So I tried it. The verdict? Earthy, no-nonsense flavor. The tangy contrast of the tartar sauce is initially off-putting, but like Bush, I’m in this game for the long term. I’ll give it some time to grow on me. It’s easily a B+ snack.

UPDATE: My insider friend just called me again; apparently I misheard his end of the conversation, it was a fish sandwich. Well, that shouldn’t surprise me. In addition to introducing bold new ideas, Bush has always shown an appreciation for the traditional eating values that made this country great in the first place.

Seriously, read the satire and read the actual Hewitt quote and tell me that there’s any discernible difference.

well neal Boortz, who I consider to be a great mind, knowledgeable and humorous, had this to say about Bush

Anybody who thinks that this president is, somehow, ignorant or stupid is either sadly misinformed or delusional. Let the left think this man is unintelligent at their peril. I was particularly impressed by his grasp of the political and cultural interactions among the various Muslim sects and countries of the Middle East.

I agree....he might have made some really bad choices, might not be the stongest speaker, but that does not mean he is an idiot. Unless you met him and talked with him.....your opinion of his intelect is.....ignorant at best.

Actually I’ve said many times I didn’t think Bush was stupid.  I don’t think he’s any great intellect, but I don’t think he’s stupid either.  Bush’s problem is that he’s a weak, weak man, who allows himself to be manipulated far too easily by those whom he trusts.

You can’t blame an idiot for being an idiot, but you can definitely blame someone for weakness.
