Bowling for Tire Irons
by Lee

Here’s a woman who would be raped or dead if she had obeyed the law.

A 15-year-old boy who was shot during a burglary has died.

Authorities aren’t releasing his name.

Police say a 59-year-old woman returned to her South Los Angeles home Tuesday morning after a walk and was confronted by a boy wielding a tire iron.

She shot him with a handgun she keeps for protection. He died today at a hospital.

The woman wasn’t hurt. The district attorney’s office will determine if the woman will face any charges.

This is California.  The only people here who are given concealed carry permits are celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell, who would much rather this woman have been raped or killed than legally allowed to protect herself with a firearm.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: “God made all men, but Samuel Colt made all men equal.” An old lady with a gun beats a young man with a tire iron any day.

She’ll face charges.  Bet on it.

Well good for her.

Dead people don’t sue but their families do.

I hope she has a good lawyer.

Yeah, but its California so she’ll get off.  Everyone gets off in California, it’s like our state motto.

That works on so many levels.

What color was the 15 year old?  What color was the lady?  That could change everything.

“Better judged by twelve than carried by six.”

Who said that?

Isn’t that a cd?

At any rate, it’s a nugget of wisdom.

Always a good question for the “violence never solves anything” crowd. So just exactly how should a woman confront a would-be rapist/killer? Should she give him a big hug? Should she offer to talk about it, perhaps with an impartial broker of peace in attendance? Or maybe she should just submit, because after all, there are probably valid root causes for the rapist/killer doing what he does, and its entirely likely that the rape/murder is deserved.

“Better judged by twelve than carried by six.”

Amen.

The report I heard on the radio said she had just returned from a walk, found the kid in her house, and was able to retrieve a gun she had in the house.  Either way, she was in her house.  If you have a gun permit, I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to carry your gun around in your own house whether you conceal it or wear it openly.

This will be deemed self-defense.  Which of course won’t stop the civil suit from going forward.  Freakin’ lawyers.

Well that’s exactly why I said she would be charged.  Doesn’t California always side with the victim (in this case the kid, not the woman who could have been raped and murdered)?

Seriously, what was the boy doing?  I suppose there’s a very outside chance he might’ve gotten lost while trying to change a tire.

Well, we could get an expert panel together to analyze the issue.  Maybe O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Robert Blake, and one of the any number of people who have committed violent crimes on tape and gotten off.  :)

Honestly, if you cut your 8-month preagnant wife’s head off and act like a complete ass to everyone you meet you MIGHT get convicted here but that’s about the extent of it.

I think a medal is in order.

I wish I was finished law school so I defend this woman.

Oh, and let me add this:  By tomorrow this “little boy” was merely searching for his neighbor’s lost puppy because the little girl was crying her eyes out.  She just started shooting because of her racial stereotyping.  And, 20 different family members will be on TV, crying and yelling about how their “angel” was innocent.  Although they weren’t there, they’ll know every last detail of what happened.

You are allowed to keep one at home.  It’s only the concealed carry permit for outside that’s impossible to get.

Like your name, by the way.  If he had lived, things would be very different today.

This kid is clearly the victim.  I’m sure that he was simply trying to help her fix a flat tire.

In her living room? When she wasn’t even there? Or are you just another Liberal Larry?

If you’re gonna troll, you gotta try something that isn’t ridiculous on it’s face.

You might as well have tried to claim that John Kerry would have healed the crippled if he had been elected President…

Oh, wait…

I think that this is an easy one to agree on.

She shot the punk.

Sad that he didn’t try a different path in life, but good that now there is one less thing for peaceful homeowners to worry about.

Yeah, that permit-for-home-ownership threw me for a second; being a CA resident, I didn’t recall such a law being passed.

If he had lived, things would be very different today.

So many what ifs....

One thing’s for sure, he knows he’s an American first and foremost.

She’ll fry and her estate will be transfered to the vermin’s family.

She acted in self-defense, which, in California, is deemed a much more heinous crime than merely killing someone in course of a robbery, or murdering people just for kicks.  A murderer is just a murderer, but someone who defends themselves is an embarassment to the State.

Any of you Angelinos correct me if Im wrong, but isn’t South Los Angeles actually South Central? I thought that they renamed it because South Central had a such a shitty image.
