Right Thinking From The Left Coast

Bloodbath and Beyond
by Lee

There’s been a bloodbath in Virginia.

A gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom at Virginia Tech on Monday, killing 21 people in the deadliest campus shooting in U.S. history. The gunman was killed, but it was unclear if he was shot by police or took his own life.

“Today the university was struck with a tragedy that we consider of monumental proportions,” said Virginia Tech president Charles Steger. “The university is shocked and indeed horrified.”

The university reported shootings at opposite sides of the 2,600-acre campus, beginning at about 7:15 a.m. at West Ambler Johnston, a co-ed residence hall that houses 895 people, and continuing about two hours later at Norris Hall, an engineering building.

Some but not all the dead were students. One student was killed in a dorm and the others were killed in the classroom, Virginia Tech Police Chief W.R. Flinchum.
The name of the gunman was not released. It was not known if he was a student.

Anyone want to bet that the area of the campus was a “gun-free school zone.” You know, for safety.

Guess who (or what) will be blamed.  Here we go again.

Common sense would lead to more people carrying, take him out after the first shot. But common sense seems to be taking a big hit these days.

Depends if the gunman is White or Non White.

White;
1) Guns
2) Video games/Metal Music
3) Racism/Bigotry

Non White
1) Discrimination
2) Poor Schools/Unprepared for college
3) Jilted lover

Muslim
1) Freedom Fighter
2) Shari’a Law not enforced on campus
3) Class schedule interferes with prayer schedule

When I lived on campus (OIT, late 80’s), the whole thing was a “gun free zone”.  Oddly enough, I had a .357 mag in my room and a box of “bear load” jacketed hollowpoints I had reloaded myself.

Anyone going on a shooting spree would have found someone shooting back.

It is indeed.  They tried to change that recently, but the measure failed.
(Note: that site is getting hammered right now, so it might take a while to load).

People are also reporting that the shooter was Asian.

I can just hear the leftist chorus for gun bans over the next election cycle.  Of course, we all know that if guns were banned, none of this would have happened.

Lets see where he/she got the gun first, before we start screaming for any kind of ban on anything.

Well, they did say the shooter was asian…

I wish these crazy bastards would just put a bullet in their own head instead of going postal on a bunch of innocent people every time a girl dumps them...and then shooting himself.

They corrected the news story about the asian guy.  Apparently he was a photographer with the school newspaper or something.  They still aren’t saying anything about the shooter.

They are also saying that it started in the dorms, then 2 hours later it continued in the Engineering building.  Somehow I think the school is going to take a lot of shit for this since there was a 2 hour gap.  Although, they did secure the dorm when things started, I don’t think it will matter to the media.

I knew of an asian girl in SF that burned down the schools records office because she got a B+. Seriously, not all asian kids face the kind pressure that leads to these extremes but it’s definitely a problem. It’s very prevalent in their culture.

An Asian girl in Shawnee KS stabbed her mother to death her Jr. year of high school. She was expected to get 100% on every test, she got a 96% and mom went into bitch mode. She had had enough and took out the problem. Tremendous pressure indeed.

They tend to outperform their white, black and hispanic counterparts but at what cost?

This stuck me as odd. From MSNBC.com:

“I’m from the Middle East, so I’m not used to this sort of thing, but I’ve been in similar situations,” Albarghouti told MSNBC-TV.

Since Lee gleefully points out every incident like this in Canada and Europe, I’m sure this one will be no different right?

Hazehead,

You obviously don’t get Lee’s overall premise.  This story fits right into Lee’s point about the utter failure of gun control laws.  Remember, Va Tech was a “gun-free zone,” just like the Socialist People’s Republic of Canada and the Union of Socialist Euro Wimps.  And, I don’t see “glee” in Lee’s posts about people getting killed.  You must have him confused with someone else.

(I may bitch at Lee for some of his opinions, but I am going to pick up for my boy just as quickly)

Gleefully?  I don’t take any glee in it whatsoever.  I think it’s fucking tragic that so many people come to violent ends simply because there are others in society who wet themselves at the thought, let alone sight, of a firearm.

It’s just like with DDT.  How many tens of millions of the world’s poorest people have died of malaria and similar diseases simply because well-heeled treehugging environmentalist twats got the shit banned 40 years ago?  In a similar manner, how many people have to die and die and die before we finally realize what our Founding Fathers did so long ago, that people should have the reasonable right to arm and defend themselves?

One trained student with an armed gun and God knows how many innocent lives could have been saved.  The same goes for the Long Island Railroad shooting, the same goes for Luby’s in Killeen, the same goes everywhere.

Incidents like this illustrates how massacres can be averted by one armed person being in the area. This shooter had enough ammo to waste dozens but as with most of these pyschos (lamenable pussies who wet themselves at any opposition) they run like scared little girls if anybody stands up to them.

My law school classmate, a 58 year old rancher from the most Southern part of New Mexico said, “An armed society is a polite society.”
