I've done a courtesy search for the term religion bad for you. See if you can find what you're looking for in the list below:
I’ve ever understood the hue and cry among the Left over Citizens United. It seem to me a lot of it is based on misinformation. They think that Citizens opened the door for big evil corporations to make massive policial campaign contributions. But that was already legal. Citizens was a very specific case where a non-profit political group made a movie about Hillary Clinton and were forbidden to show it 60 days before … Read more
You’ve probably heard about the Tyler Clementi case. Dharun Ravi videotaped his roommate, Tyler Clementi having a gay encounter. The roommate later committed suicide. Actually, that’s not quite true. Ravi claims he set up a webcam to see if his roommate’s visitor would steal something. When he saw them kiss, he turned it off. Later he deliberately set up a webcam and tweeted it to his followers. But Clementi had turned off the computer so … Read more
So this aired on his show. Liberals, if you want to know why a lot of conservatives don’t like you, watch this and watch the reaction to it. Do you really wonder why people won’t vote for arrogant condescending twerps who look down on them?
Let’s set aside the condescending attitude toward the South and what was unquestionably a cherry-picked sample. Maher and his defenders are claiming the point of this is the old “What’s … Read more
I’m sure you’ve heard about Rush Limbaugh’s increasingly provocative comments on birth control. In brief, Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke testified that birth control pills cost a typical woman about $3000 over a three year timescale and that this was quite a burden for students. Some Right Wing idiot calculated how many condoms that would buy (several thousand) and yucked it up about just how much birth control she needed and how much sex she … Read more
Although Lenin gets credit (probably not deserved) for coining the phrase, the basic premise reveals mountains concerning the human condition. I always liked the phrase ,”The path to Hell is paved with good intentions”, another window which we can peer through, but to get seemingly good/honest people to do your bidding, to garner unwitting support for a malignant cause through charitable/peaceful acts, genius.
The latest example of a truly useful idiot comes from Hollywood land, … Read more
I believe I’ve made it clear where I stand on the whole “forcing religious charities to cover birth control in their insurance policies” issue:
1) I am pro-choice (mostly), pro-birth control, pro-women’s rights and anti-Religious Right Nutbaggery.
2) I think forcing insurance to cover birth control is misguided and a ridiculous intrusion into free markets.
3) The religious issues the Catholic Church has with this mandate only increase my opposition.
The bullshit on this issue, … Read more
And by “This”, I mean the disclosure that U.S. officials have met members of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party for whatever godforsaken reason. Lets take a look at this fluff piece:
(Reuters) – U.S. officials have met members of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party, a U.S. diplomat said, after Washington announced it would have direct contacts with Egypt’s biggest Islamist group whose role has grown since U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak was ousted. Washington announced the
Some of us on this side of the pond have suspected such for years, but nobody thought it was this bad:
Europeans are plagued by mental and neurological illnesses, with almost 165 million people or 38 percent of the population suffering each year from a brain disorder such as depression, anxiety, insomnia or dementia, according to a large new study.
With only about a third of cases receiving the therapy or medication needed, mental
I’ve been thinking a lot about the job problem in this country. Jobs are the problem right now. One in eleven Americans is unemployed, the knock-on economic effects are making a bad deficit situation worse and a long-term culture of dependence is being created. I am under no delusion that a blog post will change anything. But I thought I’d write up about 2000 words of thoughts on the subject so you’ll know where I’m … Read more
Nothing drills down a concept to it’s essence better then child curiosity. Not only is their bullshit meter highly advanced but, without the encumbrances of political correctness to cloud their thinking, they require the straightest line possible to the truth, no circuitous primrose path distractions:
“But mommy, why do they call it the religion of peace when they want to kill all the Jews?
Why do they have only two possible outcomes for infidels, either … Read more
