  • Argentina and Japan

Wasn’t it just like a week ago that Paul “Wrong Way” Krugman was praising Argentina? And wasn’t it this week that he gushed over Japan’s growth, stimulated by tsunami reconstruction?

    Oops:

Recently, two more countries have felt the bite of Keynesianism. Today, the credit ratings agency Fitch downgraded Japan’s economy and the AP reported that the Argentinian economy is likely to decline sharply. While Japan and Argentina might be different kinds of economies

  • Weapon of last resort being deployed

Well, after some 3 1/2 disastrous years, riddled with bad and destructive policy that put the protection and expansion of the nanny-state over the welfare of the citizenry, I am not surprised to find out that with the race card losing its power because they over played it so heavily for the past 4 ½ years, that democrats now need training on how to effectively play that race card for better effect:

    House Democrats

  • Crazy, Insane vs. Insane, Crazy

One of the themes I always return to is “it’s cute when we do it”, which is shorthand for the way Democrats and their media dogwashers will denounce the Republicans for … well, take your pick: filibusters, indefinite detention, unconstitutional wars, signing statements, executive overreach, etc. … but then go eerily quiet when Obama does the exact same fucking thing. Or even worse, they will somehow contort themselves to believe that Obama’s behavior is better … Read more

  • The Next Bubble

You remember the housing bubble, yes? One version of that narrative goes like so: homeowners are better off financially than renters; therefore we decided it would benefit the economy to subsidize housing through cheap loans, mandates, low interest rates, etc. — the “ownership society”; this mainly served to inflate housing prices and saddle millions of Americans with unaffordable debts; in 2008, it blew up in our faces to the tune of trillions of dollars.

  • Citizens Untied

I’ve ever understood the hue and cry among the Left over Citizens United. It seem to me a lot of it is based on misinformation. They think that Citizens opened the door for big evil corporations to make massive policial campaign contributions. But that was already legal. Citizens was a very specific case where a non-profit political group made a movie about Hillary Clinton and were forbidden to show it 60 days before … Read more

  • Hindsight is 20-20, and progressive stupid is forever

And I have no doubt that Barney’s claim that he told Obama to not push for the government takeover of healthcare seems a lot like this tool is again trying to dazzle people with his bullshit. Monday morning quarterbacking, and a piss poor attempt at it at best:

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., said he advised President Obama against taking up health care reform following a special election in 2010 that changed Democrats’ fortunes in the

  • A Piece of Advice

Dear Democratic Party. Don’t attack Ann Romney. Not only is it totally not cool, you’re messing with someone who raised five kids, kicked breast cancer’s ass and is currently beating multiple sclerosis. She will bury you and you will look like the assholes. You’ve built a big polling lead with your “War on Women” rhetoric. You don’t really want to piss it away by attacking a Romney the American people might actually like, … Read more

  • Some scientists get it.

The other day Hal had a real good post up about how, yet again, liberal social science types – talk about an oxymoron – had found that conservatives hated science, proving how dumb they are. Of course the devil was in the unreported/hidden details. What conservatives objected to wasn’t science, but how politicized so many people claiming to be doing science, but really doing nothing of the sort, were, but considering the source and … Read more

  • The Party of Social Darwinism

A couple of weeks ago, Paul Ryan released his budget plan. The Democrats are going nuts denouncing the plan, culminating last week with the President calling it “Social Darwinism”.

My response to this accusation is, to an extent, “if only”. Ryan’s proposal would still spend enormous amounts of money and make very little dent in Medicare and Social Security spending. It relies on ridiculously optimistic assumptions about Congress’ spending habits and the economy and leaves … Read more

  • The Left Loses it on SCOTUS

Imagine the most bizarre rant you’ve ever heard about “judicial activism”. Imagine it being delivered by Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly simultaneously while drunk. Imagine them delivering it in Esperanto, a language they don’t know. You will still not reach a thousandth of the anger and spittle and incoherence being spewed out by the Left Wing commentariat over the possibility that the Supreme Court will overturn Obamacare. And remember, this is just days after saying … Read more
