Women’s March

I won’t say anything about their goals or objectives. But the turnout for today’s Women’s March has so far been extraordinary. Either on Twitter or FB, I’m seeing crowds from LA to Austin to Nashville to DC. And they are dwarfing what showed up for Trump’s inaugural. It seems to be almost entirely peaceful.

Doubtless, there is a lot of stuff I’d disagree with out there (the agenda seems to be a mishmash of liberal priorities). And I’m wondering where all this was while Obama was droning American citizens and snooping through our phones. But I have to tip my hat to the organizers. This is an astonishing turnout.

And Ashley Judd has serious issues.

Yeah, that got into my feed with people praising it and I was like, “Dude, she sounds nucking futs.”

You know what? Protesting is patriotic again! So even thought I have a hard time not breaking out in full blown laughter at these meaningless displays, I am happy for the country. People can again say they want the WH to be blown up without getting a DOJ visit. Not sure what these people think this will accomplish other than give DNC operatives with bylines things to talk about, but more power to them.

One big question however: if these people where burning down and breaking everything in their path, do you really believe that the DNC operatives with bylines would report that? I know the answer. Just checking to see if others also do.

You know what? After watching some video of these events, I am starting to think these people should do this daily. A lot of these ladies would benefit greatly from more walking, if you know what I mean…

    Protesting is patriotic again

It always was.  Like I said, I have a lot of issues with some of their goals. And I doubt they’d be out there were Clinton taking the oath of office. But in the fight against govt, you take whatever allies you can get.  It’s not liberals vs. conservatives.  It’s government power against everyone.

Oh Please! These women are not fighting government, Hal. They are in fact about exactly the opposite. These types all want bigger government, and then of the left. One that gives them free shit and gives them preferential treatment.

Their beef with Trump, and the people that have decided we need a change, is that those of us that are saying they should not be given preferential treated and have no right to other people’s money, have pissed them off. It’s a cabal comprised of those that wanted free shit and the always virtue signaling 1% (or .001% considering people like Madonna and Judd are freaking worth millions).

It’s not liberals vs. conservatives. It’s government power against everyone.

You must have watched a different march than I did then. All I saw was the same people shilling for Hillary and telling us deplorables, both before and after the election, that we better just shut up and let them have their massive collectivist government run by the right credentialed elites, or else. They were not saying get government out of my uterus, they were saying pay for my shit. I am all for government staying out of this women’s issues stuff. Not just legally, but especially financially. They have a right to choose. They don’t have a right to demand other people pay for their shit.

    It always was.

I must have missed that, because I distinctly remember that anyone over the last 8 years that protested Obama’s smug and horrible policies was told they where unpatriotic, racist, and downright evil…

All they had in DC was hags reminding me why I can never be a leftist, CM.

Yeah, asking government to take care of you sure as hell shows me how independent and self reliant you are snowflakes.

Much better to vote for a party that does big nay huuuuge corporate welfare for the other set of elites, eh?

Certainly it wasn’t an event for people who refer to women as hags. As I’ve noted before, you seem to have a similar attitude to women as Trump.

Other than a bunch of people getting together to celebrate their hatred of Donald Trump and his crude comments about women over the years, I’m still not sure what exactly the goal of this march was.  If Trump supports any actual policy positions on ‘women’s issues’ different from the mainstream GOP in any noteworthy way, that’s news to me.

Possibly because of those comments (and his apparent unashamed delight at his objectifying and belittling) AS WELL AS suggesting that women should be punished for having abortions (not just a crude comment, an indication of potential policy) AS WELL AS  the string of sexual assault claims dating as far back as the 1980s (consistent with what he has suggested himself – that if you’re famous you can sexually assault women because you can get away with it), AS WELL AS his entering underage dressing rooms, AS WELL AS all the potential general policies that make life harder for women (i.e. issues where they are dis-proportionally affected, like de-funding health services, dismantling the ACA with no replacement).

But it wasn’t all about Trump, the issues were wide and varied. He just has a way of bringing people together.
