Morgan Out

In case you missed it, Piers Morgan’s CNN show, plagued by plunging ratings, is being cancelled. The NYT has a hilarious take on it which amount to Piers being too awesome for us to appreciate him. I’ve only seen his show through clips on various websites but he always crossed me as condescending and of the opinion that this country would be much better off if we just did things like they do back in Britain.

I find myself having precisely zero sympathy for Morgan. Morgan has a long history of scumbaggery including publishing fake photos of British soldiers torturing Iraqi prisoners, being involved in the phone hacking scandal up to his elbows and refusing to apologize for either. The latter included, by the way, hacking into Milly Dowler’s phone, an action which made her parents think the murdered teen was still alive. In fact, I’m suspicious that this firing is related to the phone-hacking scandal, for which Morgan is still being investigated.

That CNN gave this guy a prime-time show was a sign of desperation. But it’s gotten to the point where people won’t even watch to hate him.

.. An arrogant and condescending foreigner preaching on about our domestic affairs and the viewers (who must clearly be binary extremists for not accepting his binary views) finally had enough and walked away? Hmm where have I seen this before. I can’t put my finger on it. hmmmm I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it somewhere…

    Oh yeah and…

Anyone who pulls this shit, I don’t care what their political leanings are, should be bitch-slapped from one side to the other and has no place in the media business.

Morgan’s fortunes have been a mirror image of Obama’s, no wonder since they both hold the same view wrt America’s standing in the world. Folks here have little patience for world citizens, especially those that come to our house then complain about our taste in furniture. Ditto with our president, if he can’t manage even a basic understanding of American Exceptionalism and an appreciation for our place in history, he might as well go work at the UN.

Morgan is a self-righteous global liberal prick who clearly wants the US to be more like the EU, with scads of positive rights forced by edict and a lack of negative rights. He doesn’t understand the US, and I”m pretty sure the feeling is mutual. He needs to go back to England so that he and Jeremy Clarkson can fight in the tabloids. He’s not even worth that much attention.

I don’t mind foreigners commenting on affairs in the US. After all, I comment plenty on their affairs. But most of the time, that commentary come from earnestly wanting what is best for that country or concern that the country’s actions will affect other countries. For example, I comment on what’s going on in Venezuela because I think Chavismo has been an absolute disaster for the Venezuelan people. I comment on the Ukraine because I think their government has gone rogue and I’m worried about Russia expanding their authority.

But Morgan never came from that. He seemed to see this as a soap box to scold the country. It was like sitting in a bar in Berlin with some half-drunk eurotrash backpacker saying, “OK, and here’s what ELSE is wrong with America.” I’m just astounded that CNN thought this would be a success.

I never particularly care to have a snotty asshole lecture me – regardless of the topic. When it’s some twat with a British accent, even less so.

Like Obama and CM, Morgan has no real comprehension of American culture, history, and way of life. I’m sure he thinks it’s all just like living in NYC and the rest of country is accurately portrayed by Hollywood.

The only people that are gonna miss this douchebag are all the right wing bloggers – which comprised all of his audience – whom will now have to go elsewhere to find material worthy of all the jokes they used to make about leftists.

I hear the Brits asked us to put him on a no-fly list, because they don’t want his pompous ass back too.

To be fair, that time slot was pretty brutal anyway, even Larry King was getting his lunch eaten by The Factor. But I think CNN has an opportunity here, I’m so fed up with that pompous douchenugget O’Reilly, it would not take much for me to switch over, at least for an hour.

    I’m waiting for CM-Tard to…

    Like Obama and CM…..

Sorry, it’s all just too lame, very hard to rise to the bait. Keep trying though if you like.

Morgan is a complete twat. I was really hoping Brett Lee would get him a good one. I mean more than just a broken wrist and rib.

I might put up a Ramis post later tonight.

In addition to Piers Morgan, it appears that we won’t have Awec Bawdwin to kick around any more. He’s retiring from the public scene so that he can bully gays in private.

First it was BDS, then ODS. Now we apparently have someone suffering from CMDS.

    1) CM is economically and historically illiterate

    2) He’s a troll

    3) He’s a liar

So far the best way to deal with him is to demonstrate how predictable he is so that he’ll try and prove you wrong by not posting.

    Hot! Thumb up 3

Personally, I think someone who drags CM’s name into just about every thread they comment in particularly where CM hasn’t commented is much more trollish than CM’s posts.
