A Great President, Not So Hot With A Pistol

President’s day weekend, off to the mall. For those outside the contiguous 48, we don’t use this useless holiday to celebrate any presidents, it is used primarily to run up the charge card.

Groupon, an internet company that gives discounts to consumers that go on their website to purchase items, has decided to get into the spirit and singled out one president to be the face of their sale.

Starting tomorrow, Groupon ( www.groupon.com ) (NASDAQ: GRPN) will be kicking off Presidents Day weekend by giving customers 10 dollars off 40 dollars when they purchase a deal for any local business. The $10 bill, as everyone knows, features President Alexander Hamilton — undeniably one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the country’s financial system.

Beginning Saturday, Feb. 15 at 9 am CST, shoppers will be able to redeem this offer by using the promo code “10OFF40LOCAL”, which isn’t very catchy, but neither was President Hamilton’s famous saying, “nobody expects to trust his body overmuch after the age of fifty.”

President Hamilton is best known for the fiscal sensibilities that led him to author economic policies, establish a national bank and control taxes. Customers can honor our money-minded commander-in-chief and find deals by searching Groupon.com for local deals all through President’s Day weekend.

Maybe next year they can honor President Benjamin Franklin, now that would be some serious savings.

Groupon’s motto is ,”We don’t let a little revisionist history get in the way of saving you money”. How many people in the company, ad folks, saw this promo, worked on this promo, without so much as a raised hackle, a nagging inner voice whispering in their ear, that something just wasn’t right?

Good catch, and typical. No doubt Groupon libs don’t have even an ounce of shame in their ignorance.

Reminds me of the daily Google Doodle. Libs at Google can’t be bothered to commemorate Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, Pearl harbor anniversary or Easter (because they’re unaware?) with their daily doodles, yet they honor Cesar Chavez, Earth Day, and obscure transgender poets.. I’m sure a Google doodle honoring Che Guevara is in the works.

    Thumb up 4

What? Hamilton was not a president? And surely you jest when you imply Franklin wasn’t either…
