Another piece of the puzzle..

The other day I was talking to someone that was pointing out to me they were worried about this administration’s control over the military and considering the tyrannical and criminal nature of this administration, what it could mean for us all. I dismissed her concerns and told her that these fucks couldn’t command the loyalty of a hungry dog if they were wearing a hotdog suit, and that the military would never side with them if they chose to escalate their abuses even more. I might have been a bit premature in my dismissal though, because a little digging got me to see that this administration has been very effective at purging those that that showed any sign of not going along with their criminal shit.

Obama’s administration is basically doing, for real, all the criminal and tyrannical progtards things the used to pretend GWB’s administration did, and they are doing it on steroids. The Soviets and communist Chinese had purges like this of their military. At least they are not executing the people they are purging like the old guard used to, but they are just as effective in undermining the possibility that if they wanted to turn the troops on the American people the military leadership wouldn’t just go along. These people are above the law, and they view us as serfs. They are actively destroying our economy and country and straddling our future generations with an enormous burden, and we are now finding out how bad they are screwing us. And they are exerting enormous pressure to keep the truth from coming out.

Yeah, maybe my friend was right because this news about that military purge is something to worry about.

Hey Mr DJ: Real Horrorshow Edition

Yes, this post is an hour or so early. It’s Halloween! My favorite day of the year. Trick or Treating with the kids is done and now it’s time to drink some quality beer and enjoy some scary movies. I’m posting this a bit early for the sake of you night owls and vampires.

As happens every year, I will set out the jack o’ lanterns I painstakingly carved, hoping that some young soul from Generation Dull actually shows up and smashes it. Come on, you fags! Smash them! Do it now! Kill them! They’re here! Do it!

Yeah, they won’t.

Hey, have I ever told my ghost story on here?

There I was, a young Army military police enlisted punk in Fort Bliss, Texas back in the late-90’s. September-ish. By then, I’d been stationed on Ft Bliss for a couple of years and had heard that a lot of my associates had encountered certain unexplained phenomena at certain locations. All that time working patrol and making building checks at night, I had never noticed anything. But one guy–who I knew to be a pretty honest, stand-up sort–reported that he saw a ghostly apparition of a woman in red crying, walking around near the abandoned housing not too far from the hospital I knew I what I had to do.

The next time I got myself assigned to the hospital area, I waited until midnight and drove over to the abandoned housing of Lower Beaumont. It was a mild, but windy night. Perfectly creepy. As I walked around, looking at the weird gang and faux Satanic graffiti, I fully appreciated how creepy the area really was. I was having fun with it. Then I saw one house that had been boarded up like the others, but the door was open and some of the boards had been removed. The opening was big enough to squeeze through, so I climbed in (I was limber then, even with a vest and pistol belt) and started poking around.

There were red footprints that had been tracked in all the way to the kitchen. I followed them to the sink and found it stained red as well. No big deal. It was just the ubiquitous red mud of El Paso. Somebody must have washed up in there. No big deal. With that, I headed back for the front door.

It was a bit harder to get out, so I pulled out my nightstick and knocked a couple of boards down. Once I had a bigger opening, I squeezed through and stood on the front patio. Of course, I had dust all over my nice, pressed uniform so I paused to brush myself off. Once done, I looked up and went completely cold.

Ever see something so scary that the hair on the back of your neck really stands up and you feel like ice spiders are crawling all over you? All of the breath got sucked out of me and my jaw swung open. All I could do was look in horror at the figure in white walking about 100 feet away directly in front of me.

Looking back on it, I guess it’s silly that I got that terrified given that I was down there specifically to see something scary. But then I have since seen the Ghost Hunters and that Zak Bagans asshole have some fantastic “Oh, Shit!” moments too.

So I’m standing there, frozen in horror, not pissing my pants but not really opposed to the idea either. Then it dawned on me that ghosts float, they don’t stumble. It occurred to me that I was looking at a drunk Mexican and not even a dead one. He was wearing a white t-shirt and faded blue jeans.

Fully adrenalized, I yelled some shrill version of “Hey, you!” at the guy. He stopped and I rushed up to him with my nightstick still clutched in my hand. Once he turned around, I asked him what he was doing there.

“I’m just cutting through, man.”

“Oh. Well you’re not supposed to be here.”

“Oh, sorry”.

“I’m not even supposed to be out here.”

“Okay.”

“Do you have any ID?”

“Uhhhhh, no.”

“What’s your name?”

“Uh, Abraham Johnson.”

Alright, so he was clearly lying but I was too relieved to be talking to a living person to really care. I walked him back to the patrol car and gave him a ride to Northeast El Paso and let it go at that.

Seriously, the odds of me walking out of the house right at that moment as this guy is just wandering through at midnight were astronomical. The scare was quite enough: I didn’t do that shit again. Never saw anything either.

And that is my stupid ghost story.

Let’s enjoy some holiday music. Ghosts and zombies, saints, the sacred dead.

MY: You got me listening to country. You bastard. Dance in the Graveyard by Delta Rae.

Happy Halloween!

I told you so…

And now, even the WaPo opinion section has to admit, that cash for clunkers was beyond imbecilic.

When the Obama administration first proposed its “cash for clunkers” plan in 2009, the reaction was generally favorable. Congress would spend $2.85 billion to encourage drivers to swap their old gas-guzzlers for newer, more fuel-efficient cars.

The program had something for everyone: It would lend a hand to the ailing U.S. auto industry. It would tamp down on oil consumption. And, once launched, the program proved so popular with consumers that it burned through $1 billion in its first five days. Sure, a few critics argued that the program wouldn’t be very cost-effective, but no one was really listening.

But, as it turns out, the critics were on to something. A new analysis from the Brookings Institution’s Ted Gayer and Emily Parker found that the program was fairly inefficient as economic stimulus and mostly pulled forward auto sales that would have happened anyway. It also cut greenhouse-gas emissions a bit — the equivalent of taking up to 5 million cars off the road for a year — but at a steep cost.

Plumer is holding back the punches here and being too nice. First off, the program was made to look like it had something for everyone: those of us that didn’t fall for the propaganda saw that this was a giant bowl of shit with sprinkles on it being passed off as delicious ice cream. It amounted to a government scam to help sell cars, and it was done to pay back the unions for their support in the 2008 election, just like the GM screw job that robbed bond holders to pay off the unions did. And it was horribly misadvertised.

A large number of people that fell hook, line, and sinker for this shit, later took one heck of an ass rape on their taxes. And nobody paid attention that removing so many of these clunkers from the market would adversely affect the costs incurred by first time car buyers, now looking at a depleted market. And, yes the program was going to be horribly cost ineffective. Especially the idiotic claims that it would generate jobs, directly or indirectly, and result in economic growth. Only idiots believe that if you break a window that’s a good thing for the economy, ad Walter Williams, someone far more economics literate than me, has repeatedly pointed out. Government stimulus is an idea that has outlived the stupidity that created it.

Gayer and Parker find that Americans traded in nearly 700,000 old cars (“clunkers”) through the program between July 1 and Aug. 24, 2009. Vehicle sales did rise during that period. But a detailed study suggests that consumers just bought some cars slightly earlier than they otherwise would have. Cumulative purchases over the year were basically unchanged:

Other studies have reported similar numbers. A 2011 analysis from Resources for the Future compared U.S. car sales under the program with those in Canada (which didn’t have a clunker program) during the same time frame. That study found that 45 percent of cash-for-clunker vouchers went to consumers who would have bought new cars anyway.

Well, DUH! Did they really think people that were not planning to buy a vehicle soon would be swayed to get rid of their clunker when it was financially unfeasible? Seriously? I know these morons love to count on the average person’s stupidity and lack of financial acumen, but those of us that understand the way the real world worked, especially right after a financial crisis that all but dried up credit for anyone without a near perfect credit rating, knew their where drinking their own stimulus cool-aid. Like the $ trillion plus we will end up paying for the donkey stimulus campaign to funnel tax payer money to their special interests, lobbyists, friends, and campaign coffers, this idiotic scheme was doomed from the start, because it was stupid.

Gayer and Parker estimate that pulling these vehicle sales forward probably boosted GDP by about $2 billion and created around 2,050 jobs. That means the program cost about $1.4 million per job created

Wow. What a fucking waste. Only progressives – the same ones still telling us the Obamacare website is going to be fixed soonish – would think this was anything other than a criminal misappropriation of tax dollars.

The WaPo piece then goes to put lipstick on this pig by focusing on environmental impacts of the program. I am sure the people that will be paying for this wasted money will be all happy that the cultists can pretend they saved Gaia. Hey, maybe someone should look at pushing the idea that the warming the luddites predicted didn’t happen because of this idiotic tax payer screwing program….

I think they could have created more jobs if they had used this money to just let people go watch strippers and hit bars for a weekend.

Slurping up the Googles

We take a break from our regularly scheduled nap to tell you that there is absolutely nothing to worry about with Edward Snowden’s newest revelation: that the NSA is tapping into Google and Yahoo data centers:

The National Security Agency has secretly broken into the main communications links that connect Yahoo and Google data centers around the world, according to documents obtained from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and interviews with knowledgeable officials.

By tapping those links, the agency has positioned itself to collect at will from hundreds of millions of user accounts, many of them belonging to Americans. The NSA does not keep everything it collects, but it keeps a lot.

According to a top-secret accounting dated Jan. 9, 2013, the NSA’s acquisitions directorate sends millions of records every day from Yahoo and Google internal networks to data warehouses at the agency’s headquarters at Fort Meade, Md. In the preceding 30 days, the report said, field collectors had processed and sent back 181,280,466 new records — including “metadata,” which would indicate who sent or received e-mails and when, as well as content such as text, audio and video.

The NSA’s principal tool to exploit the data links is a project called MUSCULAR, operated jointly with the agency’s British counterpart, the Government Communications Headquarters . From undisclosed interception points, the NSA and the GCHQ are copying entire data flows across fiber-optic cables that carry information between the data centers of the Silicon Valley giants.

The infiltration is especially striking because the NSA, under a separate program known as PRISM, has front-door access to Google and Yahoo user accounts through a court-approved process.

Now never mind that when PRISM was revealed, the NSA defenders told us that this was nothing to worry about, that it “proved” that NSA wasn’t tapping directly into the data streams but using court-approved secure data rooms to snoop (as if that were any better). Never mind that Greenwald and Snowden have let the NSA defenders get hoist by their own petard again by letting them spin and spin and lie and lie only to revealed to completely full of crap. Never mind, as Allahpundit notes, that the court had previously rebuked the NSA for similar data-gathering methods. No, no, no, it’s all OK. I’m sure they’re not digging up information on us. I’m sure it’s stopped a terrorist attack at some point.

What? Quit giving me those looks. We can trust these people. Even when they’ve been revealed to be completely lying their asses off. Don’t you care about terrorism?

This is what “Social Justice” always ends up looking like

Everyone will be equally miserable and we will be celebrating failure. And that’s not by accident. Even if everyone was given the exact same opportunity I can guarantee you that the result would vary, and vary vastly, based on what each of us chose to do with that. Progtards simply don’t get, or don’t want to get that. To them the system is unjust unless we all cross the finish line at the same time, and with the same goodies. Otherwise someone got screwed over, and not because they did anything wrong, but because the system is inherently unjust. What a bunch of fucking idiotic gobbledygook, but that’s what they believe. So I can not say I am surprised to find out that “Social Justice” week at the University of Georgia would have a campaign decrying success as an injustice. Yes, you heard that right:

Success stories are EBIL!

Success stories are EBIL!

Shit like this is why I can never be a progressive. As has often been said: progressivism is a mental disorder based on capitalizing on jealousy and greed, by painting others that will not allow the progressives to punish them for their success, as the evil ones. This is the loser’s movement. Only they want to now punish those that do not want to let them rip them off even more, by denying them the opportunity for success. Things go wrong when people, and always the ones with the worst kind of psychosis, start deciding what is allowed and what is not. When they get to pick who wins and who loses. And thing really get bad, shit hitting the fan bad, when they start saying that success must be punished, because it leaves other behind. When everyone is mediocre, we are all going to be miserable: not happy. And anyone telling you that mediocrity is cool because it is “Social Justice” needs to have their head examined.

BTW, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and a whole bunch of other progressives that believed in precisely this sort of “Socials Justice” pushed by the U of G, were not available for comment. They all were too busy counting the souls of the over 100 million they murdered, and the dead included in the countless other billions they put through the misery of “Social Justice”, in their special “Progressive Social Justice Stadium” in hell to talk to me. These guys also disliked success for the masses a lot. BTW, the Obamacare website happens to be a great implementation of what the “Social Justice” these types want looks like.

One for all, and all for one…

Shit like this is why I believe we need a constitutional amendment to make it the law for Congress and all of our public servants to be subjected to the same shitty socialist laws they force the general population to bow to. I have a feeling that if our congress-critters and the federal employees all had to subject themselves to the ACA debacle, that said law would never, ever had passed. Definitely not in that incarnation that Pelosi told us had to be passed for us to find out what was in it. In fact, the only difference between any punitive action for the regular citizen and for a public servant should be that the public servant gets double the penalties. Stuff like that might finally clean out that den of socialist thieves.

It was a rethuglican/Tea Party conspiracy! (UPDATED – part2)

Like so many other lies told by this administration that we get told are just exaggerations on our part when we call them on it. But, it turns out that the Obama administration knew the ACA was going to cost most of us our current plans, and they lied about it being otherwise. Worse yet, they knew that as many as 2 in 3 would lose their plans:

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.

Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC NEWS that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience “sticker shock.”

None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date — the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered.

Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, “40 to 67 percent” of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, “the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range.”

Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, “if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan,” was still saying in 2012, “If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”

My bet is that even that high end 67% is low and more than 5 in 6 of us will eventually lose our plans. That’s by design. The point is that this is yet another lie by this administration. It’s pathological with these crooks. Who is going to come out – throw themselves under the bus – to pretend that somehow Obama was not informed like the NSA is now doing. Lies, lies, lies! That’s all we get from this administration. They can’t tell the truth even when it benefits them. But it is those of that have learned to expect the worst from these crooks that are in the wrong.

Obamacare is a failure. I find myself agreeing with Noonan: go back and do it all over. And make sure none of the people involved with the first iteration are allowed to be part of the do-over, because they are idiots. Wealth redistribution scams suck ass, and this is one of the worst ones foisted on the American people. Ever. Thank god it is blowing up in their faces.

UPDATE: It looks bleak out there. So far the tally of people losing their current coverage, even if they want to keep it, exceeds 2 million, and more keep losing it every day. This is going to be a snowball effect. My company has been all civic duty and good corporate citizen like, because so far the number of companies they compete against dropping insurance coverage has been low. But that’s going to change as time passes bye. It might not even happen next year, but I doubt it goes for more than 2 years before we see a rash of companies all dropping healthcare coverage so they can be more competitive in a sinking economy, mostly sinking because of the ACA and other progtard policies.

And on the other side we are getting hammered because doctor see this giant shit sandwich for what it is, and they are basically opting out. I was told by my own doctor during the storm leading up to the passing of this bill that he would rather retire and sell, or just close down his practice, than deal with another bloated government run system that imposes 250%+ administrative cost increase, because of an impossible to understand and totally insane bureaucracy, that forces him to do a poor job. And my doctor is one of the ones that had already been leading the curve and computerizing all data and record retention for his practice, on his own, in the hopes that would allow him to better control the already insane costs associated with the mountains of paperwork the government required they fill out so they could do their real jobs. Others in the medical profession are catching on, and they all seem to be seeing the same writing on the wall.

UPDATED2: Look like NBC first tried to take the story at the link down, then stealth edited it, and then put it back up when they got hammered. From the Breibart post:

On Monday, NBC News reported that President Obama’s administration knew for three years that Americans would lose their current insurance under Obamacare. The story quickly became the lead at the Drudge Report, making it the hottest political story on the Internet immediately.

For several hours, there was no problem. Then, late at night, the story was pulled, the link was changed thereby breaking the Drudge link, and stealth edits were made to the piece. In particular, one key paragraph met the cutting room floor:

None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date — the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered.

They were probably called out by the WH and took it down, only to be caught because Drudge had linked the story, and fearing being called out for being lapdogs of this WH, put it back up. Damage control fail.

Progtard narrative misleading yet again

Let me start by saying that the death of a child is a terrible thing, but I just can’t stand the progtard’s deceptive use of tragedy to rob us of our freedoms, especially when statistics tell a different story than the one they want you to hear. From this stupid article:

About 500 American children and teenagers die in hospitals every year after sustaining gunshot wounds — a rate that climbed by nearly 60 percent in a decade, according to the first-ever accounting of such fatalities, released Sunday.

In addition, an estimated 7,500 kids are hospitalized annually after being wounded by gunfire, a figure that spiked by more than 80 percent from 1997 to 2009, according two Boston doctors presenting their findings at a conference of the American Academy of Pediatrics, held in Orlando, Fla.

Eight of every 10 firearm wounds were inflicted by handguns, according to hospital records reviewed by the doctors. They say the national conversation about guns should shift toward the danger posed by smaller weapons, not the recent fights over limiting the availability of military-style, semi-automatic rifles.

“Handguns account for the majority of childhood gunshot wounds and this number appears to be increasing over the last decade,” said Dr. Arin L. Madenci, a surgical resident at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and one of the study’s two authors. “Furthermore, states with higher percentages of household firearm ownership also tended to have higher proportions of childhood gunshot wounds, especially those occurring in the home.”

Among homes with children, rates of gun possession ranged from 10 percent in New Jersey, for instance, to 62 percent in Montana, the researchers found.

Madenci, and his colleague, Dr. Christopher Weldon, a surgeon at Boston Children’s Hospital, tallied the new statistics by culling a national database of 36 million pediatric hospitalizations from 1997 to 2009, the most recent year for which figures are available.

During that period, hospitalizations of kids and teens aged 20 and younger from gunshot wounds jumped from 4,270 to 7,730. Firearm deaths of children logged by hospitals rose from 317 in 1997 to 503 in 2009, records showed.

Among those victims may have been 3-year-old Will McAnaul, who died on July 21, 2009 in Dayton, Ohio. The preschooler discovered his father’s loaded handgun under his parents’ bed and accidentally shot himself.

You get a whole bunch of numbers, numbers that are not adequately explained, and then they focus on one case: the tragic death of a 3 year old. Because that sob story is far more likely to appeal to their agenda than pointing out that most of those deaths and injuries happen to gangbangers under the age of 20. It is outright despicable that this author is that much of a scumbag.

Yeah, the death of this poor, young, child is a horrible tragedy, but this vile and deceptive story leaves you believing that this scenario is the norm, not the exception. Nothing could be further from the truth. The vast majority of the killed and hurt are gangbangers doing their thing. The story doesn’t even mention these facts. This piece masquerades as news, but it is nothing but propaganda, and despicable propaganda that uses the death of a child to push a vile agenda. These people are scum, I tell you.

They are going from “Everyone can keep it” to

Axelrod now saying “Most can keep it“. The “it” referred to here is your own healthcare insurance coverage. Most of us that understood what the progtards really were doing knew better than to believe any of their lies. Here is a prediction: in a few months they will be telling us “Some can keep it” and make like that’s what they had been saying all along.

The only thing that’s decent about what these fucks are doing is that the people most impacted – in a bad way – are the ones that not only went along with the bad healthcare takeover bill ‘s passage, but defended it. In the end none of us will be keeping what we have, be it healthcare or decent jobs prospects. What we will have is a whole lot of people that will depend on government – bureaucrats with politcal axes to grind – for their healthcare. That’s what the ACA was designed to do.
