Now that the monstrosity Pelosi told us “HAD” to be passed for us to see what was in it is law and rolling around we get to finally find out that the ACA panacea isn’t going to work out as the used car salesmen that pushed it to us predicted, but that, amongst many other problems, 2/3 of Americans don’t know if they will be insured under Obamacare, while half of them admit they will get less at a higher price, as can be seen:
There’s no assurance folks will be buying insurance under Obamacare, and that could spell trouble for the Affordable Care Act. Nearly two-thirds of Americans who currently lack health insurance don’t know yet if they will purchase that coverage by the Jan. 1 deadline set by the ACA, a new survey revealed Monday.
And less than half of those in the survey released by InsuranceQuotes.com think they’ll get better health care after Obamacare takes full effect. Nearly 50 percent believe the ACA will make it more difficult for them to get tests and procedures done in a timely manner, according to the phone survey of 1,001 adult Americans conducted in early May.
And a whopping 68 percent of low-income Americans aren’t sure they qualify for tax credits that would subsidize their purchase of health insurance—despite they fact that they almost invariably will qualify, the survey found. That population is most likely to benefit from government subsidies under the health-care reform law.
So low information people remain uninformed and unable to make decisions? Meh. I expected that. After all, I saw the results of the last election. And I am surprised at how low the number of informed people that understand that government meddling will not just affect quality and cost, but also access. Only 50% of them realize that this idiotic government takeover of the healthcare system will result in difficulties getting treatment? Have they not been paying attention to the European and Canadian systems our leftards so admire and used as inspiration for the Obamacare debacle? Long waits for tests, especially when they are critical – dead people inflict less cost of government controlled healthcare – will be the norm for anyone that wasn’t lucky enough to get a waiver from Obamacare compliance, or like our political class, is exempt from it.
I also believe that we should stop referring to the burden put on the tax payers as just “government subsidies”. It’s a travesty to pretend that this money didn’t get jacked from productive people so government could use it to expand its tentacles deeper into everyone’ lives under the guise of providing “cheap and better healthcare” for all. By now that myth that Obamacare was going to lower costs should be DOA, considering such revelations, by the political IRS machine of all things, that the cheapest Obamacare family plan will cost $20K/yr.. No, that’s not a typo. We tax payers are going to be fleeced so the power expanding government bureaucrats can pretend they are making a difference when they provide us all with shitty care we will have to spend a long time waiting for:
(CNSNews.com) – In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.
Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS. The IRS’s assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.
The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan. “The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000,” the regulation says.
That’s some fucking insane cost there, but hey, the left has managed to convince too many idiots that their bastardized idea of healthcare is a right, not the luxury it really is. And the sad thing is that this huge price tag will come with reduced quality, increased wait time, and scrutiny form a politicized IRS that might just decide to push for the powers that be to delay or deny you care because you do not suck Team Blue dick. Be that as it may, we also need to keep in mind that another Obamacare myth, that it insures everyone, is plain bullshit as we find out that the number of uninsured will never fall below 30 million.
This giant shit sandwich sucks. No wonder that our political class exempted itself from the Obamacare mandates and Team Blue is giving are their bestest buddies waivers from the huge pain and suffering Obamacare will place on those of us neither lucky enough nor rich enough to avoid its disastrous consequences. As predicted, Obamacare will destroy healthcare as we know it and make everything worse for all but a few. Somehow “I told you so” feels pyrrhic, however.
