Oh, THAT Liberal Media, Part 425

I’m working on a 10-Year-Anniversary of Iraq post for, uh, two days ago. In the meantime, check out the Daily News‘s front page on the collapse of the federal assault weapons ban. Most people try to be a bit subtle in implying that people who oppose gun control are murdering children. Not the Daily News.

Oh, just to put off the usual Fox News retort, check out what Pew found on opinion vs. news reporting.

I’ve got a couple living next to me that thinks the headline didn’t go far enough. I blocked one of them a couple years back due to his habit of posting nothing on Facebook except shit that would make CM look like a bible-thumping GOP member. But the wife hadn’t made herself annoying until this morning when she started calling for the UN ban on guns to put into effect inside the US, and for us to stop denying that the UN had authority over us in all things.

Really odd older couple – have a buttload of cash from working in real estate, no kids, and are trying to move to Italy to retire since Europe is such a paradise and they can get away from all those stupid Americans who weren’t hippies when being a hippie “meant something”…

    Thumb up 4

Well, the PEW research really tells you that if one of the news networks “isn’t really a news network” as Obama likes to say, that would be the one that fawns over him the most: MSNBC

When 85% of your airtime is nothing more than opinion shows, you’ve essentially become Oprah 24/7 with a few news breaks between topics.

I have been known to clean a gun or two on the deck, which is in full view of several neighbors, but I’m on a sword kick at the moment, so they all get to see me practice drawing a katana.

I think it freaks out the rich hippies even more than guns. There is, after all, only one purpose for a sword…

Katana? A few years ago, a JHU student killed some burglar with a katana in Baltimore. Of all the ways that dude expected to go, being filleted by a samurai sword wielding graduate student was low on his list.

A few days ago I mentioned a new right of center (conservative) coming to the air waves in July. It’ the Washington Times that is funding this new(s) channel.

I for one think a second conservative viewpoint as a good thing. Not to mention giving Foxnews a little incentive to keep it real.

Agreed. After all, the Left has a dozen of their own channels. Can’t we have two?

Well yeah, but their message all comes from Central Command. The Washington Times, in regard to Foxnews, is more of a ‘horse of a different color’.

I’m hoping for a flanking maneuver. Sorta like precision artillery in conjunction with close air support.
