What the hell is wrong with some people?
A gunman who shot four volunteer firefighters and killed two of them at the scene of an upstate New York house fire early Monday was found dead of a gunshot wound — a horrific attack that may have been a “trap,” officials said.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the Christmas Eve blaze in Webster appeared to be a setup to go after first responders who were arriving to the fire just after 5:30 a.m.
Who the hell shoots a volunteer firefighter? These guys aren’t armed. They aren’t even paid. And some numbnuts sets a fire so he can take ‘em out? Good Lord.

It’s pretty sad that I developed a fairly detailed conspiracy theory about this as soon as I saw the headline. I never used to think that way.
I wondered why the story was sort of buried, or at least not highlighted like you would expect given recent events. It’s behind the Santa NORAD story on MSN’s scroll, for crying out loud. Then I saw this:
Doesn’t play into the more laws equal less gun crime narrative. I find it hard to believe that otherwise rational people believe that someone who is willing to KILL ANOTHER HUMAN BEING IN COLD BLOOD will somehow be deterred by gun laws (and not existing ones but new ones). Seems this guy really didn’t give a sht about the laws.

As has been pointed out by another writer on this website, and many other bloggers and commentators., murderers tend not to go after people they know are armed, or people they think there’s a chance they might be armed. They tend to go for people for whom it’s practically guaranteed they’re unarmed. That’s classes of people or specific places where, by public law or private policy, carrying guns are not permitted.
Am I suggesting that rescue workers and other first responders be permitted to carry firearms on the job should they choose? This will sound absurd to some I know, but when such people come up with less farcical approach than taking guns away from the good guys and leaving them in the hands of assholes (private & public) I’ll start paying attention to their protestations of absurdity.

Shame on you TxAG94! Why are you opposed to sensible gun laws that through firearm bans will make it all much safer? Why the surprise that since these people feel that to be trusted in any capacity are in government, and thus, that they are the only ones that should have firearms? Letting the serfs have firearms, for whatever reason, is crazy thinking. The illusion of security shall NOT be allowed to be broken!!!1!!eleventy!!
That’s just crazy talk now, antoniolorusso. The only places that are safe are gun free zones. Look at Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C, L.A, and N.Y.C or your school zones where guns are not allowed.
I was just reading about how some liberal rag in NYC disclosed the information on everyone with a carry permits. My fist thought was that every criminal in the book was thanking the lord for this joyous Christmas present. Now they know which homes to avoid when they go on their spree. I also heard they published the editor that approved this article’s personal information. Want to bet she is gonna get body guards with guns or her own gun now? Heh.

Two stories over at Brietbart’s caught my eye:
440+ school aged children shot in gun controlled Chicago
School where Obama girls and pundit Dick Gregory’s children go to school has 11 armed guards- not counting SS agents
Oh and Alex, that newspaper in NY printed the names of registered gun owners. Gun registration is the law in NY.

Thats not entirely true, you register for your permit, the individual firearms are not registered.
