Massacre Denial

Thanks to Miguelito, who tipped me to this video of a English Professor denying that Stalin specifically and Communism generally murdered people by the tens of millions:

Some choice quotes:

“I know they say he killed 20, 30, 40 million people,” continued Grover Furr, a professor in Medieval English at Montclair State University.

“It’s bullshit.”

Professor Grover Furr of Montclair State University said he has yet to find “one crime that Stalin committed.”

Following the debate, a student pressed Furr on his comments reminding the professor that most historians believe “100 to 150 million people [were] killed by communist regimes.”

The professor, however, doubled down on his original comment.

“What you said is bullshit,” said Furr. “It’s wrong. It’s a lie.”

“The history of the Soviet Union is the most falsified,” he added.

(Note that while some idiot students applaud his remarks, other boo. There is a strong social stigma that makes it difficult for students to boo and taunt a professor. These students didn’t accept it. And kudos to the student for challenging this shitwit on his alternative reality.)

I’ve banged this drum quite a bit. Denying that the Communists murdered people by the tens of millions is no different than Holocaust denial. They admitted it; they boasted about it. It has been relentlessly documented by writers like Anne Applebaum and Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. The Communists even extended their tentacles into other countries with the murders of such as Leon Trotsky and Georgi Markov. And that’s not even talking about World War II which started when the Nazi and the Communists cooperated in the invasion and conquest of Eastern Europe.

That’s just the people they deliberately murdered. They also killed millions in pointless “revolutions” in a hundred nations. They killed tens of millions when collectivized farming starved entire regions to death. They were known to use starvation as a tool to surpress rebellion.

Professors of narrow esoteric disciplines are used to having captive audiences and being able to articular bizarre and often counter-factual points of view on anything outside their own narrow field of study. Well … welcome to the Age of Youtube, Professor Furr. I suspect that, by the end of the week, everyone in America is going to know what a twerp you are.

Don’t you know the only evil people that brutally murdered millions are the fascists, and that’s because them Nazis were right wing! Never mind that Nazi is a contraction of National and Socialist, which was what the NSDAP, Hitler’s party, was all about. Yeah, fascist or those religious Christian nuts! Religion is ebil!

Communists killed people? NEVAH! Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, The Kim dynasty, Castor, and the many other such lovers of Marx never killed anyone. They just, erm, got rid of the dead wood so collectivism could go global.

This sort of denial from academia and the lack of knowledge about how evil communism and those spreading it are, the downplay of the Cold War, is why the brutality and mass murder that the communists perpetrated on billions over a short century, is all but guaranteed to play out yet again. We are forgetting this evil on purpose. History does repeat itself.

Communism is great in theory. It would work perfectly in reality if people didn’t need food and stuff.

It’s funny. i read Das Kapital in college and I couldn’t believe anyone accepted that shit. There were so many things wrong with Marx’s theories and they were so obvious.

The thing people fail to realize is that oppression and murder are baked into the Communist cake. Lenin was very clear on this; that the success of Communism was only possible if people were absolutely subjected to the state. This is why Orwell — a socialist, by the way — wrote 1984 and Animal Farm. He knew these guys were lunatics.

I have never read Das Kapital; however, from what I have seen of synopsizes from various sources, it reeks of something that a con-artist would pitch for one of his schemes. I withhold further judgement until I get the time to read it.

Marx was pretty typical of his ideological followers today. Never worked a real job in his life. Screw that guy.

I pointed out that the only way this shit worked was if humans where wiped out by intelligent insects and they then chose to use this form of government. After all, they already do that in species such as ants or bees. Human nature being what it is, we would end up with everyone wanting to be the queen and nobody wanting to be the drones, but the fact is that they all have it wrong about what their role will be, wich then leads to the defective entities needing to be purged.

You have to keep in mind what a horrible existence Marx lived – well educated, from good family, and afflicted with horriblely painful medical conditions (covered in boils) that essentially left him unemployed and living off of others for most of his life. He was bitter SOB, and he kept trying to get what was “due” him from his station at birth and his education. His writings are attempted justifications for wanting the world to just give him a lifestyle.

He wasn’t even the first to come up with what we call Marxism – he just had the time and education to pseudointellectually justify it with a new “theory” (hairbrained BS) of economics that had no bearing on reality. Only those as ignorant of how economics works will fall for it, which pretty much limits it to anyone that has never run a lemonade stand or mowed lawns for money.

What about community organizers? Do they get it?

    Just kidding.

Which is, essentially, exactly what anyone that fights using his writings seems to want: others to give them a lifestyle.

We see it all the time with groups like Occupy and such.

(stupid focus moved and me and a press of return posted just the quote a min ago).

Apparently this loon forgot about the Romanovs, who were executed.

Fascism and Communism were the two extremes of twentieth century ideology; they both failed but it took longer for Communism to be discredited while its “kinder, gentler” sidekick socialism still gets a pass and is seen as something to be emulated.

It should be noted that writers like Orwell (and H.G. Wells, another socialist wannabe) at least understood what the Soviet Union was.

Sounds like par for the course. Communists and fascists sure know how to win elections. In fact it was Stalin that I believe pointed out that votes didn’t count: it was what the vote counters did, that counted.

And considering it is the American people that lost and will pay the prize, with the very idiots that helped the community organizer win the election taking the brunt of the pain, I don’t think this is as clever as you want to pretend it is. If anything it is something sad that should make everyone that isn’t a fool, cry. Self destruction sucks.
