Benghazi-gate update

The usual LSM outlets are reporting nonsense like CBS affiliate in DC which are trying to pretend that there is no stank to this whole fiasco. Yeah, Panetta, certainly isn’t doing CYA for the WH at all. Not everyone is playing along, though. Maybe it is because they are tired of getting thrown under that Obama bus. I already talked about the Clinton’s sticking it back to Barack for his attempt to throw Hillary under the bus, but now it seems that even
Patreaus at the CIA is punching back. After all Obama & his crew threw the Intel community under the bus during the debate and tried to shift the blame to them. But the truth will out even if the LSM is ignoring it:

Breaking news on Benghazi: the CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA director David Petraeus, has put out this statement: “No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. ”

So who in the government did tell “anybody” not to help those in need? Someone decided not to send in military assets to help those Agency operators. Would the secretary of defense make such a decision on his own? No.

It would have been a presidential decision. There was presumably a rationale for such a decision. What was it? When and why—and based on whose counsel obtained in what meetings or conversations—did President Obama decide against sending in military assets to help the Americans in need?

Rumors are circulating about assets being on site and not being used because the WH ordered a stand down as well. But there is an even bigger rumor going around about how the commander of Africom, General Ham, was relieved from command because he refused to follow an order to stand down from the WH and was in the process of deploying assets despite the order. It is not coincidental that he is being replaced by a likely stooge:

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will nominate Army Gen. David Rodriguez to succeed Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command and Marine Lt. Gen. John Paxton to succeed Gen. Joseph Dunford as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced Thursday.

Gen. Ham is not the only one being relieved. I guess when relieved from command in this manner they are facing possible charges, and hence, will be told by their council to not comment publically. Win-win for the WH which just wants this to stay quiet until the election. After they steal that, Holder can make this go away for them, like he has done with so many other acts that far exceed anything Nixon did and got kicked out of office for.

This Benghazi-gate stuff is turning out to be uglier and uglier. Yes, a lot of this stuff is in the category of hearsay or unconfirmed, but I would trust hearsay or statements from these sources – yes, even the damned Clintons because those bastards are about survival at all costs and they know the LSM is not in their corner right now – over the lame cover-up by the LSM, any day of the week. This was an epic failure. I am now convinced that the WH ordered a stand down and that is the direct reason that these 4 people died. The problem is that we have a fifth column that has no interest in finding out, let alone telling the truth now, because it will screw up the guy they are rooting for, Obama, even harder next week.

UPDATE: Looks like the LSM has to adit that the removal of the admiral that was in charge of the Med group is because of the ongoing investigation. Of course, the fact that when relieved and under investigation this admiral silenced, is conveniently ignored.

Deflect and defend? I linked to a right wing blogger who noted that:

    1) The fired Admiral was nowhere near Libya and had nothing to do with it and is in fact deployed to the gulf region (if you need a map to see where LIbya is in relation to the Persian Gulf, I can provide one)

    2) General Ham’s replacement is not unusual and has to be be confirmed by the Senate.

But I realize that debunking conspiracy theories is “deflecting and defending” for a President I don’t support, have never voted for, will never for and have written several thousands posts and tweets opposing and criticizing, including specific criticism on the subject of Libya.

    Sheesh.

Despite what the press likes to insinuate for the sake of ratings and to promote a far-left liberal agenda, racism really isn’t as big a deal in the US for most people. Also, Spanish-speaking peoples have for generations fully integrated into mainstream American society, and having a general with the last name of “Rodriguez” is about as likely to stir people up as having the last name of “Smith.”

If you now and again, could try with just laying out the facts, before adding a carefully thought out and dito worded opinion on how to interpret those facts, then I’d have much less problems with your posts (probably none at all). But now, almost everything you write is worthless. Garbage. It really is. It has nothing to do with disagreement, because everyone knows that I disagree with others too. It’s your tone. The following comment is not mine. It is from a blog friend who has spent damn near all of his life in and around the DoD, Pentagon and and the Halls of Power in Washington DC.

He feels the same outrage the democrat Pat Caddell feels and imo articulates it perfectly. Much better than I ever could

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Bsz5iZX9Db4

I hear the quiver of outrage in Caddell’s voice, and it mirrors my own these past weeks. My mental state having dropped from boiling mad to simmering mad over the Benghazi debacle, I’m beginning to think we ought to apply Occam’s Razor to the situation and put aside conspiracy theories like gun running and hostage swaps.

I recall Moochelle commenting to a reporter a couple of years ago that “Barry wants to save the world, but he’s lazy.” Ninety plus times during his term as Illinois State Senator, he voted present. IMHO, that reflects a shallow, lazy mind, a mind that pretends to be intellectual by acting aloof and above it all, rather than a mind that does the hard work of researching the issue and developing an opinion on the subject, and having the courage to stand by that opinion by voting aye or nay for the record.
His White House schedules, more often than not containing but one appointment in an entire day, mostly after 10:00 am, and his missing most of his daily intel briefings, only confirms to me what Moochelle said. He is lazy and aloof. And then it seems he is out of the office running around on AF One more than he is in the office working.

Hearing the prolific “I…me… my..” ad nauseum in his speeches confirms his high opinion of himself. He is now in a tough fight for reelection, and a man who loves the position but doesn’t like to do the job, who loves himself more than others, who prefers to talk rather than do, will place a high priority on seeing to his own needs.
He is a coward, a narcissist, and lazy.
Uhbama’s presidency is circling the bowl, he needs to campaign more, right now, and the Benghazi event popped up right on the eve of a big bucks campaign swing to Las Vegas and other points.

To me, the Benghazi fiasco is beginning to smell like Uhbama went to get his beauty sleep and rest up for Las Vegas, instead of staying in the Situation Room and seeing the crisis through and ordering a rescue mission. But that would be work, require courage and postpone his own needs.

In Benghazi, after seven hours of running street battles, the Americans still alive surely were thinking “Any minute now, the cavalry will come to the rescue! Just hang on!”
But the cavalry never arrived. So even with a Delta Force Team at Sigonella, nobody was willing or able to cut them loose. Not even some fast jet supersonic flybys from Sigonella, to break windows and eardrums and warn, American airpower is here ragheads, and you know what we can do, but they were never sent, not even one supersonic low-level flyby, just One. Hour. From. Our. Bases. In. Italy. Max.

We have a bunch of military assets in southern Europe, the Med and North Africa. The US military routinely does a lot on its own, under SOPs. The minute they saw (12 command centers were watching this in real time) that the consulate is under attack, it became a TOP priority. Every other mission would abort or be diverted to support any possible rescue.

At the moment when the flash messages started arriving, everybody in our military chain of command shifted into a crisis plan mode. What assets are available? Where are they? Ships? Fighters? Helicopters? Marines? Delta? Get them moving right now. What base is closest? Sigonella. It is a NATO base, no permission needed, just go. En route in C-17s, the Delta guys would be readying for an immediate action rescue mission, the C-17s would fly directly to a desert road outside of Benghazi, and here comes the cavalry, done in haste, adapt, improvise, and act, but they would do it. They practice for these scenarios, and have gear staged for them.

They would coordinate with fighter jets out of Italy, AC-130 gunships, mid-air-refueling, Marines on amphibious ships in the central Med, if any were available, all would be put in motion toward Benghazi. A Tarawa class helo carrier carries a battalion of USMC, SEALs , and helos to carry them all.
The ongoing consulate attack becomes Priority One for all within thousands of miles, the only job.
All of this military activity would have happened/did happen during the seven hour battle at the consulate and annex, but what the military cannot do on their own authority is cross an international border without an order from the POTUS, Uhbama.

Only POTUS can authorize a cross-border hostile mission; that is, weapons hot, with no notice or official permission from the Libyan government.
Only one man can pull that trigger and say, GO! – Uhbama.
No general or admiral will order any American troop ashore or even a low-level supersonic flyby on their own, as much as they might want to. (Remember the Get bin Laden postponements, waiting for Uhbama to approve?) They can not and will not cross a border without a clear-cut order from POTUS. Not even Sec Def or Sec State can make that decision. Only Uhbama.

There was a CIA operator at the CIA annex who painted an al Qaeda mortar crew with a laser target designator, hoping rescue assets would arrive soon. (Some operators have said that the ground guy would not do that unless there was an aircraft on station, which makes the lack of action even more outrageous) Any of the above assets would have turned that mortar crew into hamburger, but the CIA guy waited in vain. That mortar is what killed the two former SEALs.
No order came, from 5pm DC time (11pm Benghazi) until midnight DC time (6:00 am Benghazi), and none would come, because, I believe, the POTUS, Captain Shitstain, quit for the night, punted, said “Fuck it, I need my rest.” and went to bed, to be well rested for Las Vegas.

While his ambassador was missing, and being dragged down a Benghazi street or even being raped, and other Americans were fighting for their lives, Captain Shitstain went to bed.

I think this will be the greatest scandal of Benghazi, even worse than losing four Americans, even worse than all the lying about it. The POTUS slept through it, while around the world, military forces were poised, raring to go on any rescue mission if POTUS ordered them to do.

But the POTUS said, “We’ll discuss it some more in the morning, I’ve got to get some rest”, and went to bed around midnight in DC, 6:00 am in Benghazi, with a missing ambassador and a full-blown crisis in full roar. Remember “getting Osama bin Laden”, where the SEALs were ready to launch and he said “I need to sleep on it. We’ll talk about it some more in the morning”?

He voted present. He went to bed.

God rid us of this pestilence.

I think that’s the big secret the Uhbamunists are hiding. The President went to bed, with his missing ambassador being dragged through streets.

    Captain Shitstain went to bed.

Everything Captain Shitstain has ever said or done betrays his utter cowardice and his complete disdain for anything inconvenient to himself, such as the lives of those who serve our nation.

Not only must Captain Shitstain be defeated in this election, he MUST be tried and convicted of crimes small and large, from expense account fraud, to taking kickbacks and bribes, violating bankruptcy law, violating the Constitution, election fraud, campaign finance fraud, conspiracy before and after the fact, accessory to murder, and treason.

I know I’m dreaming, unless we make it happen, somewhere down the road. I don’t care how long it takes. The shoulder shrug practice of allowing politicians to retire to a life of ease without penalty for their crimes while in office MUST cease. If Berlusconi can go to prison for mere tax evasion, this shitstain on the Office of the Presidency, by far and away the worst criminal ever to Occupy the White House, can go away for a long, long time.

    Hmmmm, “Moochelle”? “Uhbama”?
Yeah, clearly this guy is coming from somewhere objective….;-)

Ninety plus times during his term as Illinois State Senator, he voted present. IMHO, that reflects a shallow, lazy mind, a mind that pretends to be intellectual by acting aloof and above it all, rather than a mind that does the hard work of researching the issue and developing an opinion on the subject, and having the courage to stand by that opinion by voting aye or nay for the record.

Obama acknowledged voting “present” — a vote similar in its effect to “abstain” — 129 times during his eight-year state Senate tenure, according to a Boston Globe fact-check at the time. The Globe said that Obama cast about 4,000 votes as an Illinois legislator, meaning that he voted “present” in about one of every 31 votes he took.

Some of his “present” votes came on contentious issues — abortion, juvenile justice and gun laws among them — and critics have suggested that Obama’s decision to avoid a “yes” or a “no” vote in those cases stemmed from political expediency. Other analysts have cited a more benign reason, saying that voting “present” has long been used as a way of expressing protest about the way a bill was put together, or displeasure about a specific provision contained within a bill.

“You get a lot of ‘present’ votes from minority members to avoid the traps set by the majority,” said University of Illinois at Springfield political scientist Kent Redfield. “Obama was in the minority most of the time he was in the legislature, and his present votes are slightly below the average for a member of his caucus.”

But this discussion of “present” votes has to do with the Illinois legislature. It has nothing to do with the U.S. Senate.

We checked all of Obama’s votes in the U.S. Senate and found not a single “present” vote. That’s not surprising, given the way Senate procedure works.

    Neither of you men have actually answered my question. What is your point in coming here? Let me lay out some fairly obvious facts;

    This site is right-leaning
    All of y’all are left-leaning
Every frickin’ day you come here and disagree with just about everyone here.

Is this constant action a Masochistic and perhaps a Masturbatory performance? Does it fulfill a daily need for attention? Do you also go to Islamist sites, KKK sites or Nation of Islam sites and critique poster and commentator too.
    I’m willing to bet NO

It is my belief that Xetrov @October 31, 2012 3:40 pm at 3:40 pm (UTC -4) has perfectly captured your motivation.

I can’t really add too much more to what Kimpost and ilovecress posted. I like ‘argument’, I like politics, I like well-constructed and well-articulated argument, and I find American politics and issues particularly interesting. I like exploring different viewpoints and working out exactly how and why I disagree (is there a point of departure, where is it, what explains it). I like finding out what informs opinion (how much is opinion drive by opinion as opposed to facts). I like finding out things I didn’t know. I like the internets. I like following the issues and events of the day and discussing it with others, particularly those who have different views, and particularly when I get to know individual positions and attitudes and opinions and quirks. I like a bit of push and shove, but then I like to be able to joke around with ‘opponents’ as well. I don’t hold any ill will toward anyone who disagrees with me (even really strongly) – people who turn disagreements into full-blown obvious hatred are equally puzzling and fascinating to me. I don’t really understand why they need to make everything so personal. Some people take arguing on the internets WAY WAY too personally. MY, we disagree on most things but we can still share a joke or agree on the attractions of the female figure. Sometimes even in the middle of disagreeing. That’s awesome, and contrasts so much with Seattle Outcast. That’s what I really enjoyed at MW Forums for so many years.

I would get SOME of the above at a left-leaning equivalent, but not ALL of it, and probably not even MOST of it.

The same reason I read the NZ Herald, Football365 or Shacknews. I find it interesting. The conversation here is entertaining. Just because I disagree with the poster doesn’t stop it from being interesting. I’d argue the opposite. In fact, IMHO I’d say that one of the reasons that this site does so well is that Lee started it as an interesting/entertaining blog that happened to be right wing, rather than the other way around.

So why do you come here? Let me lay out some facts for you:

    This site is right leaning
    You are right leaning
You come here every day and have your views validated and never challenged.

Is this constant action a narcissitic and perhaps masurbatory performance? Does it fulfil a daily need for validation of your sense of self worth?

Or maybe, *just maybe*, the above is a straw man, and we both read the site because it’s good, and the conversations are interesting?

    Ditto. Fag.

And what did you think of the “Funny or Die” video of Bar Refeali

After the first 25 times it got a little boring. ;-)
But that’s ok, I just go back to Kate Upton’s ‘Cat Daddy (Full Version)’ for a while. Variety is important.

I’m pretty sure my views are challenged every day here. Have you ever had your reading comprehension checked?
What do you think you are doing right now?
