Arlen Specter, RIP

Senator, author of the Warren Report, Anita Hill interrogator. He left the GOP in 2009 after voting for the stimulus but lost in the Democrat primary anyway. He was well-regarded in Pennsylvania. While his moderation was the ultimate thing that did him in, the perception in 2010 was that he had simply been around for too long.

Perhaps his biggest legacy will the so-called “Magic Bullet Theory”, the mis-understanding and mis-representation of which will feed JFK conspiracy theories long after we’ve all gone the same way.

Uh, if you’re going to tell me that you believe the official “magic bullet” theory, then I’ve lost all respect for you as a human with an IQ above room temperature. Not that I’m going to go whole hog into a “grassy knoll”, multiple shooters, CIA/Mob/Cubans/KGB/LBJ conspiracy and cover up, but the official report was obvious bullshit from the word go.

Come up with your own reason why that is so – I’m not going to participate other than to point out “physics does not work that way”…

A little fact that neither you nor the Reason article(now there’s a surprise) mentioned was just like Bloomberg he was a democrat before he was a republican before he was a democrat again.

Arlen J. Specter (February 12, 1930 – October 14, 2012) was a United States Senator from Pennsylvania. Specter was a Democrat from 1951 to 1965, then a Republican from 1965 until 2009, when he switched back to the Democratic Party.

In 1965, Specter ran for Philadelphia district attorney against his former boss, incumbent James C. Crumlish, Jr.[1][2] The city’s Democratic leaders did not want Specter as their candidate, so he switched parties and ran as a Republican, prompting Crumlish to call him “Benedict Arlen”.

I think you mean Jabba. What was his name here before he was banned?

I was a bit obsessed by that film when it came out……I was only 18. Later I preferred the single spit theory.

I see you believe the JFK bullshit version of the theory and not the actual theory where the bullet moves in a straight line.
