Batman Attack

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

A heavily armed gunman tossed tear gas into the darkness of an Aurora, Colorado movie theater Friday and then sprayed the audience with gunfire during an early morning screening of the new Batman movie, killing 12 and wounding 38 others, authorities said.

One of the injured was just 3 months old, according to hospital workers.

Police arrested a man believed to be the shooter in a rear parking lot of the theater, Frank Fania, a police spokesman, told CNN. The suspect was not immediately identified. Police said he was a man in his 20s from Aurora.

I’m going to guess lunatic, not Islamist, on this one. Horrible. I am curious as to whether this was related to Columbine, which is only 13 miles away.

Update: One of the dead had survived a previous shooting.

He was wearing body armour as well I heard. F*ck this planet. The movie was a worldwide event that has drawn maybe over a million people into the cinema to experience it, across the globe. And this prick shows up to one and, well, it makes me sick to my gut.

I’m a Colorado resident, and in answer to Hal’s query regarding Columbine, there is almost no chance that these two incidents are related.

Foxnews mentioned something about a 6 year old girl being the newest fatality, what kind of idiot drags his 6 year old daughter to a midnight showing of Batman?

No doubt the left will use this is as yet another argument for more stringent gun control, but if just one fellow movie goer was packing, we would have had a dead shooter and about 90% less carnage inflicted on innocents.

I keep thinking of those people: they just wanted to go to a fucking movie. I remember being at midnight showings of LOTR and Star Wars and how exciting it was.

And the article mentions a 3 month old… seriously.. wtf man? Dragging a 6 year old is bad enough, but I can at least see a little kid being into Batman. But an infant? Yeesh.

Apparently the article was updated as it now says 4 months old. Still…

    couple points about the kids:
#1 theater walls aren’t thick. Some victims were not in the same theater so a 6 year old might have been right at the end of “Brave”

#2 a 3 month old is not watching a movie. the infant was probably asleep in mom’s arms. i took my oldest to Terminator 2 when she was a baby. nursed or slept through the whole thing.

And then you have a-holes like Brian Ross accusing the wrong guy who happened to be a member of the Colorado Tea Party, because he had the same name.

For the record, I think both Obama and Romney gave appropriate responses.

Apparently not, it was just a tactical vest, the media, as usual misreported it. I wonder how much more they got wrong.
Sunday i read that the “rifle used” was a S&W MP 15-22…. that is a.22 LR version of the AR-15 platform. but still i havnet heard any solid details about the rifle other wise.
