Movie Time

Some fun cinema stuff is topical of late. Hollywood is doing it’s part to get in line and make sure Obama gets his message out, what good little soldiers they are. Here is the trailer for The Obama Effect:

Gee, a black liberal enamored by another black liberal, alert the media.

On the flip side, we have The Conservatives:

This is a message I have been championing since I started blogging, the veritable explosion of wealth and prosperity, unleashing the entrepreneurial motive and allowing folks to progress and elevate themselves as fair as their talent and hard work will take them, that is the American spirit.

The Obama movie will play in a theater near you, and will probably die a spectacular death opening weekend, what a snoozer. The Conservative movie will not get a helping hand from film distributors, you have to order the movie from the website, but if you are a student (HS or college), the price is right.

As a side note, I totally understand that Chris Matthews tingle thingee, I get it in the nether regions whenever I see Monica Crowley.

Yes, our message in the better message, but getting it out there, preserving our system as it was intended, no small feat given the constant nibbling on the fringes by the wealth redistributor in chief.

The other day I took my kid and we finally saw The Amazing Spiderman, we had been travelling on vacation so this was our first chance. Holy Smokes, what a great movie. Not only has CGI come a long way, but this guy makes a much better Peter Parker then the old guy. I like Toby but he was ill suited and missed cast for this role, and it showed. Stan Lee has finally seen his vision come to fruition, and how cool is it that he gets to make a cameo each movie like Hitchcock did?

I was never a big Batman fan so all this Dark Knight hysteria is lost on me. Anybody feel differently and jacked up over the new movie?

Or any other new movie that is out or coming out you wish to weigh in on.

So very predictable that in both of those political trailers the ‘other side’ are moronic. The Conservative one would have us believe that the alternative is the Soviet Communist Party of America.

Looking forward to seeing both Batman and Spidy……getting a chance is another matter!

Dark Knight was an excellent justification of the complexities of the war on terror and the sacrifices needed. I love how every “bad thing” Bush did was ticked off in that movie and done by Batman (even rendition :p). The Joker made an excellent analogy for the irrationality (to a western mind) of Islamist terrorism. Far more intelligent than the pathetic anti-Bush/anti-american bullshit Hollywood kicks out every month.

Interesting to see where Dark Knight Rises goes. Will it be an attack on the Occupy mentality (not necessarily the movement in and of itself, as that came after the script was written)? Or will Nolan embrace the anti-capitalist argument? For Bruce Wayne to justify his wealth, will he have to .. die… for everyone?

Is Talia A Ghul really Marion Cotillard? Is guy from Third Rock From The Sun, Robin? (he’s apparently an Orphan …).

    Is Bane just a pawn?

    Can Hathaway pull of Catwoman?

I’m seeing it in a few hours in a lovely Muslim country with ZERO income tax, low corporation tax, and the cinema tickets are £3.50 ($7.50?)

Yeah, it’s amazing how things can work well in movies and on tv but not at all in real life. Ok, it’s not amazing at all really. ;-)

Is this basic CM dumb dumb talk? Yes. Are you trying to be clever? Did you actually think you are bright -and not thick – when you typed that? You know, just gonna insult you, not gonna bother responding.

Another movie to look for is Judge Dredd. It’s meant to be very good. Very violent but character driven (according to the latest IGN website).

I am fairly sure black guy in pro-Obama comedy was the guy in Alien 3 “DO YOU WANT TO DIE STANDING? OR ON YOUR KNEES?”

..apparently he’d rather everyone die on their knees…

Are you trying to be clever?

Nothing clever about pointing out whereas torture ALWAYS works in movies and tv (where confessions are made just in time to save the the day) that doesn’t reflect reality. That’s just common sense. And confirmed by those in the intelligence community.

Did you actually think you are bright -and not thick – when you typed that?

Are you implying that “not thick” is the opposite of “bright”?

You know, just gonna insult you, not gonna bother responding.

Classic. I just mocked you in another thread about this VERY thing. Thanks for the additional support, not that it was required. I know what would be more fun – why don’t you respond again to tell me you’re not going to respond?!

After watching the trailer, I think “worship” would be the correct term.

I predict two pretty worthless movies. The Obama Effect, really? :) And check the conservative trailer with it’s cry for free markets and private enterprise. It could just as well have been a pro-Obama movie. I mean, who doesn’t support free markets?

Exactly Kimpost, which is why the have to imply the ‘other side’ are effectively the Soviet Union party. It’s a movie though of course, so the target audience will take that as read.

Saw Dark Knight Rises yesterday. Awesome. Love the first two as well. You need to see them, Rich.

The shooting last week was heartbreaking. Couldn’t help but think of the victims and what a horrible nightmare everyone in that theater went though while watching the movie yesterday.

I enjoyed Batman kicking the sh*t out of the Occupy Movement.

In regard to the shootings, it’s a little ironic, sadly, that one of the flaws, or plot holes if you will, of Dark Knight Rises is madness (insanity) is not mentioned at all, not relevant, not a part of the movie – despite being a major theme of the last two (it’s Batman ffs…).

Holy crap, is that really repmom?! If so, it’s great to see you around again!

Thanks, Hal. Glad you’ve hung around. I’ve always appreciated and respected your writing and your views. And your courtesy to others.

    HEY REPMOM!
how ya doing, still feeding those deer in your back yard?
As for the DARK KNIGHT RISES, i enjoyed it, but i think all that talk of the Occupy Wall street, is a bit over blown, Bane appealed to the criminal class, more than he appealed to the far left, i want my life supported by the state type. The whole robespierre style staged trials was … amusing, over all a nice film..

    Harley,

How is that precious family of yours?

Interesting – I didn’t think about anything being political in the DKR movie while watching it.. Too busy concentrating on Batman and Catwoman, and whether or not Bruce Wayne would live or die, but now you guys have me thiinking about whether or not it did have a political message. Not sure I like that.

I like to just be entertained in the theater. Especiially when I pay the price of an IMAX theater.

And while we’re talking about movies to see, I strongly suggest you guys encourage your wives/girlfriends to see “Magic Mike”, if it’s still playing in your area.
