With second-degree murder. I’m not sure that the special prosecutor has done anyone any favors here. It’s going to be difficult to convict him of second-degree murder given the ambiguities in some of the testimony. And if he’s acquitted, no one is going to say, “Well, at least he was charged.”
The prosecutor said she doesn’t prosecute by public petition. But her demeanor is not that of someone who hates the spotlight. I have a bad feeling about this. Well, a worse one.

Just another chapter in the ongoing Kabuki Theater of this election cycle.
Truth, Justice and the American Way have not one goddamn thing to do with any of this.

i feel like it is going to be nearly impossible for the prosecutor to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman did not act in self defense… but those are just my grumblings without knowing everything… it should would be nice to just have to facts – but i guess I’ll have to wait to watch the trial on Nancy Grace *throws up in mouth* … this whole thing has mistrial written all over it

It’s a political move that is going to backfire on him – if Zimmerman is convicted, it will be overturned on appeal. If he’s acquitted, then it will be more screams of “racism” by lefty idiots.

And either way, legal guns and SYG laws will be the real losers, which is to say, all law-abiding folks.

Which, sadly, seems to be what many people are actually aiming for. It seems like a lot really don’t care about the kid at all and just see this as their excuse to further limit poeple’s right to defend themselves.
Miguelito recently posted..Yeah, so I decided to move to WordPress.. as you can see.

Or, the prosecutor may have evidence supporting the charges filed that none of us are aware of as of yet.

I think salinger is right. The special prosecutor may be a grandstander but she isn’t an idiot. With all the public attention on this case she isn’t going to risk looking like a fool by filing charges she knows she can’t make stick. 2nd degree murder is about as serious as it gets without premeditation. There must be evidence in this case that hasn’t been made public.

And if he pleads down to a lesser charge?

Right because a prosecutor would never seek public attention…
You might want to read about the Duke Lacrosse Case before making a statement like that

I expected a manslaughter charge. I agree with both salinger and sahrab actually. Hard to believe a prosecutor would go for the bigger charge is she didn’t have the evidence. But … we’ve seen it happen before.

Of course one would seek public attention. That is why I said she may be a grandstander. However repeating the same mistakes from the Duke rape case will give her the sort of attention she doesn’t want.

I have…but this prosecutor had time to completely review all the evidence in this case before deciding to file charges, and that was after this case had gone national. She either knows something we don’t or she’s an idiot.
In any case, let’s all hope Zimmerman gets a fair shake.

And he gets a manslaughter conviction with time served and probation? Won’t serve for re-election purposes will it?

Who’s re-election is it that keeps coming up? I’d assume Angela Corey’s, but I see a “him”? Obama’s?

The prosecutor is in a no lose situation here. She presses charges and get credit for that. When he’s acquitted (he will be if any juror has an IQ over 30) she just blames the jury. The 2nd Degree murder charge is more then a stretch. Read the statute, There is no way they’re going to prove that. Gun rights will suffer, and the race whores will make some money.

I can’t believe the good people of Florida are going to waste tax payers dollars on an investigation and trial when all they needed to do was pose a question to any of the dozen or so all knowing psychics who post here to find the truth.

Yep.
The use of racism in Obama’s re-election campaign was known to be in the works many months ago. such a minor event hardly merits the attention it is getting, and Obama dumped himself into the middle of it almost as soon as it garnered national attention. That was no accident – they needed something to work with, and a month old shooting was the best they could find, so Obama’s butt-buddies in the LSM promptly made it into a story for him when directed to do so.
The prosecutor is most certainly hanging her hat on this shit as well, but she isn’t the driving force.

I will refrain from commenting on the decision to file the charge and go ahead with this travesty of a politicized case and will wait for the trial for the evidence that merrits this charge to be presented. However, here is my prediction about how the people behind this decision are calculating this whole thing plays out: based on the real facts, not the made up shit the LSM has been peddling, the charge of second degree murder will not meet the burden of proof, and in the end Zimmerman walks. That is, unless they get a really rigged jury, which can happen. And the race baiters get to have a cause that keeps their base motivated until the November election this year, too! Win-win for Team Obama which doesn’t give too shits how this plays out after that other than to help them resitrict people’s rights to protect themselves. Fast and Furious replay.
The thing is that because Zimmerman was dragged into court for a criminal trial, Martin’s family now has a legal excuse/reason to not just sue Zimmerman – whom isn’t well off enough – but the Condo Community’s management firm, which they perceive as being loaded, in civil court. And that’s what the Sharptons and Jacksons of the world are involved for: the money they can all grab. Not to mention the ability to undermine any laws that allow citizens to arm themselves and defend themselves from the criminal element or government when controlled by democrats. I know I repeat myself: those two are the same.

The jury pool is pretty contaminated and the prosecution has already said they will play the ‘racial profile’ card, which will play to any black jurors(and you know at least half the jury will be black) so Zimmerman may be better off with a bench trial.

This precious baby boy was murdered in cold-blood by a racist white man.
An A-student, high school athlete, community activist, religious leader, FDR descendant, holocaust survivor , transgendered baby should never have even been approached by Zimmerman. Only the State and Marxist leaders can.
Republicans will stop at nothing until all the brown people are wiped out.
Just look at that monster. Am I doing it right?

Hmmm….Alan Dershowitz has read the prosecutor’s Affidavit and called it “Irresponsible And Unethical”. I thought the prosecutor knew what she was doing but if Dersh is right then she way overcharged on a very weak case.

An affadavit is pretty basic, so we’ll have to see. If there really is nothing more to this case than we have seen, then a murder two should be impossible.
Murder two could still become something lower down the line. It seems. I like Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi. She’s usually pretty level headed (and good looking). Her take on it below.

Romney, who has been slated for this engagement for months and months, spoke out forcefully today at the NRA convention against Obama’s left-handed gun grab via this case, a true media circus if ever there was one BTW.
By coming out strong and early (as opposed to like Sept.) he has made this a 2nd amendment issue. A battle the left has never won in this country.
