Gore v. Olby

Current TV has apparently sacked Keith Olberman after less than a year. This has caused thousand of people to cry, “Wait a minute? Current TV still exists?! Really?!” Really.

Editorially, Countdown had never been better. But for more than a year I have been imploring Al Gore and Joel Hyatt to resolve our issues internally, while I’ve been not publicizing my complaints, and keeping the show alive for the sake of its loyal viewers and even more loyal staff. Nevertheless, Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt, instead of abiding by their promises and obligations and investing in a quality news program, finally thought it was more economical to try to get out of my contract.

It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently.

Al Gore v. Keith Olberman? As someone else said on Twitter, whoever loses, America wins.

    Hoisted on his own petard:

Current has asserted that Olbermann missed 19 out of 41 working days in January and February. Then on Monday, Feb. 27, Olbermann asked for a vacation day on the following Monday, March 5, one day before the Super Tuesday GOP primaries. Olbermann was told that he could not have the day off, and if he took it, he would be in breach of contract. He took the day off. But he was on the air the following day for Current’s Super Tuesday coverage.

Olbermann’s team was informed Thursday morning that Current would immediately replace him with Eliot Spitzer; accused of missing 19 out of 41 work days

Jesus, that’s a record of a man who wants to be fired. Although that asshole hypocrite fucker Spitzer makes Current TV even less relevant than it was.

Future headlines: (One month from now) Spitzer blasts Olberman for missing so many days of work. (one year from now) Spitzer fired are missing too many days of work.
