I Hate Equivocators

Must be nice to be able to stand proud, confident, and 100% behind any candidate, I’m not so lucky, and neither is 58% of folks like myself. I’ve illustrated before the downside of falling in love with any candidate, like equities they must be evaluated quarterly since the story and your reason for support can change.

For the purposes of a levity break, and sometimes this blog really needs it, I present a true believer who’s certitude can only be envied:

Discounting the few kernels of truth Derrick speaks, and yes, Ron Paul is clearly right about some things, you have to admire his passion and exuberance. And doesn’t Derrick sound like some other so called constitutional experts you’ve run in to in the past?

As an aside, given the absolute nastiness we have seen exhibited this week between Newt, Paul, and Perry (those trying to chop the legs off of the leader) I think we can put that old adage of the left being far meaner and nastier then the right to bed. I understand bare knuckle politics as much as anybody but the stuff I’ve heard coming out of the mouths of these guys lately, where is Preston Brooks when you need him?

The attacks regarding Bain from the prospective nominees are really quite interesting. It leads to the obvious question: where do they actually stand on capitalism and business ethics? Perhaps they realise they won’t win, so they don’t need to worry about blunting their swords when it comes to duelling with Obama.
Newt seems to be wanting to go down swinging as hard as possible at Romney. Almost as if he wants to do as much damage as possible before Obama gets a turn.

And i’d posit that he’s no less a rabid supporter than anyone elses.

Just technically savvy enough to put up a Youtube video

some things, you have to admire his passion and exuberance.

Is he any different than Alex about any position he thinks smells a smidge like socialism? (whether it does or not)

And doesn’t Derrick sound like some other so called constitutional experts you’ve run in to in the past?

Sounds like the “Strict Constituionalist” Czarchasm

My point isnt that Ron Paul has a wacky or lunatic fringe. If Derreck epotomizes Ron Paul, then so do the people who vote for Santorum solely based on his Religious Right credentials, anyone who votes against Romnehy because he’s a Mormon, or for President Obama because he’s black.

Instead of focusing on the people who are not up for election (supportors) we’d do better to focus on those who are.

Good question. I would expect these types of attacks to come from the other side, those wealth re distributors, and OWS supporters. But all these GOP guys have shown hair triggers wrt the Obama/socialist mime, making them by contrasts as free marketers, too bad they aren’t showing it here.

It would weaken them if they were then up against Obama, but they probably realise that’s not going to happen.

11% for Gingrich. Ouch. Swing hard, but do it fast.
EDIT: Although I guess like Perry it’s all about South Carolina for him:

They say that the money they plan to spend in South Carolina is more than Barack Obama and John McCain spent combined on advertising in 2008. Most of the advertising time will be dedicated to 30- and 60-second advertising spots.

I’m listening to Romney’s NH victory speech, he sure does sound like Reagan, I wonder how much of that he actually believes.

And I wonder if anyone will show up for Perry’s press conference tomorrow, where he calls everyone Hoosers, saying he really didn’t want the job anyway.

BTW most of the people in that poll about voting for a Mormon that said they wouldnt vote for a mormon, were Dems, its not like they were going to vote for Romney anyway.

I think we can put that old adage of the left being far meaner and nastier then the right to bed.

And amazingly said with out any modifier.
You do realize the left haven’t even gotten into the ring yet right? And all that vitriol towards Palin was just a one time deal too you think?

“The Ugly” over the next 10 months will astound even the dullest of the electorate.
Your adage ain’t even headed for the bedroom.

You don’t like that one, how about these:

    1) I call a spade a spade, no matter who deals it.
    2) Two wrongs don’t make a right.
    3) You don’t justify bad behavior by comparing it to other bad behavior.

And if those don’t work for you, I can think of a few more. ” The Ugly” going on lately is embarrassing, by anyone’s standard.

I’m a bit surprised that so-called conservative Republicans were so quick to attack someone specifically for being successful in the private sector, just because he’s the front runner. “Vulture Capitalist”? With BS such as this, who needs the Democrats involved? Politicans Suck on both sides of the isle, and just in case anyone is still deluding themselves – these hacks are ALL politicians. They will do anything to get elected. The person we need in the White House (and in congress for that matter) is someone who doesn’t want to be there.

That’s the curse we live with: those that want to be there have made sure the system is so rigged and the game so dirty that good people, the ones that do actually want to make the system work for the people and not just for themselves, are automatically turned off from even trying. That’s why people like me are left with no recourse and will always have to vote for the lesser of two (or more) evils. I do not like any of these candidates because they are politicians. But short of being forced to choose from a mass murdering pedophile or Obama, I will vote for anyone but Obama (or for that matter any of today’s democrats because they all are the same kind of robber baron hiding behind the veneer of caring for the little people).
