A Hope Full Christmas

Most of our younger members probably do not know of the contributions Bob Hope made in entertaining the troops during Christmas time, here is a reminder:

I missed the Vietnam draft by several years but still remember the NBC specials of Hope and the troops during Christmas. The closest we have today to an equivalent is Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band, but there is no one, and never will be, that had the longevity and impact of a Bob Hope and his ability to bring some civility and joy to those that needed both.

This Christmas, remember those in the military that can’t be as lucky as you, and are stationed in far off lands, separated from their family.

Bob Hope did so much for a country he wasn’t even born in. Now if we could get just a little his spirit from our current group of immigrants.

    Very nice Holiday story BTW.

Merry Christmas all you crazy RTFTLC bastards.

To the atheists, enjoy the fun of giving and receiving. To those who “believe,” enjoy the reason for the season.

For the rest – “Festivus” – complete with airing of grievances and feats of strength.
