Black And Blue Friday

After writing a post on the virtues of capitalism………………I’m starting to reconsider:

Ya know, maybe it would be better to stand in line for hours waiting for a Commissar to give you one pair of shoes, one gallon of gas, and your daily allotment of bread, all courtesy of the state.

Granted, this is Walmart (too bad the video did not show the 3 people that were trampled to death by the herd at opening time) so we have to factor in a certain amount of barbarity, but I’m not getting what seems obvious to me, unless the stuff they are grabbing is free, is any bargain worth this kind of aggravation?

Alright, I doubt anyone would admit it, but has anyone here actually gone out and shopped on Black Friday? We won’t laugh at you, maybe you got the deal of the century, but I’m curious as to what savings out there is worth 3 broken ribs, some pulled hair, and having to park in the next county.

I refuse to go out to the malls The days after Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can barely stand to put up with Costco on the weekends, this sort of idiocy is much worse.

I dont think I ever went out shopping on Black Friday in my whole life, and I certainly wouldn’t now. Time is the fire in which we burn, and my time is worth more than the potential savings. Simply put, I’d rather pay more later or earlier than stand in line and deal with the crowds. Also, there are some great deals online around this time of year if you look.

    You nailed it.

Anybody with even rudimentary keyboard and internet skills can find whatever he is looking for, at prices equal to what these sheeple are killing themselves over.

I buy so much stuff at Amazon that I finally broke down and joined Amazon Prime, smart move. Not only do I get free shipping, no sales tax, but their video library and vault of TV shows is thrown in. You can get a free 30 day trial to test drive.

one of the nice things about this time of year is that the women for the most part do dress up very nice, for some reason. I for one do enjoy watching the ladies all stream by showing off legs ass, cleavage, and such.

Went with the wife to take her mother to Wal-Mart at about 9:00am. I was planning to NOT go in, just drop her off as close as we could get and come back to pick her up later. Turns out it was the least busy I’ve seen thisparticular Wal-Mart, EVER. I even went in when we came back. Completely tame and everything in order. A little more reserved culture here, though.

The video you chose showed, for the most part, smiling people. Chaotic maybe but no gnashing of teeth.

And any stories of three (3) trampling deaths… well perhaps the news services are a bit slow in this part of the country. But then again they sell ammo at the Walmart here.

I freaking LOVE Amazon Prime. Been a member since the first month they had it. The one drawback? It makes it so, so easy to order just the one thing that I now have what we’re calling “Box Mountain” in the dining room.

So obviously I need to do the recycling this week….
