Under oath: “Bush did it too!” defense – Big fail.

Looks like the Obamanaut’s favored defense for Gunwalker, the “Boosh did it too!” defense, has finally been put to rest, and this was done by the AG under oath, in a 75 second question and answer session by John Cornyn.

It has become clear that for administration apologists, the favored approach for dealing with the “Project Gunwalker” fallout is to loudly shout “Bush did it too!” (as if that would somehow mitigate the atrocity of our government aiding in the murder two of federal law enforcement officers and hundreds of Mexican citizens). If this had not been obvious before yesterday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Eric Holder, it certainly is now, with Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) enthusiastically beating that drum.

In 75 seconds of pointed questioning of Attorney General Holder (see sidebar video), Senator John Cornyn has perhaps left the excuse makers scrambling for something better. In that time, he asked Holder if he knew that Operation Wide Receiver (the Bush-era operation) actually did involve an attempt to track the firearms, while Fast and Furious did not. Cornyn then asked Holder if he knew that Operation Wide Receiver was run in conjunction with the Mexican government–Fast and Furious was kept secret from not only Mexico, but from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) attaché to Mexico, Darren Gil. Gil, in fact, after discovering on his own what was going on, was basically pushed into retirement when he balked at the near act of war of “walking” guns into Mexico without the Mexican government’s knowledge or permission.

Holder was eventually forced into the position of having to put the “Bush did it too” excuse out of its misery himself:

Senator, I have not tried to equate the two–I have not tried to equate Wide Receiver with Fast and Furious. . . . Again, I’m not trying to equate the two.

Hmm . . . “not trying to equate the two”? As Andrew McCarthy points out in National Review Online, Holder certainly didn’t seem averse to such equating when Schumer was the questioner.

Holder, a class “A” scumbag, was forced to admit, under oath, that this stupid excuse the left has been banking on to deflect from the seriousness of this issue by creating the false equivalence between an operation run during the Bush years and this clear attempt to cause chaos & death to influence opinion in the US on gun control, was plain old bullshit. That it happened after he had been led by another scumbag, Schumer, into asserting that lie as truth, is priceless. The operation run when Bush was president didn’t allow the guns to cross unmonitored and was known by the Mexican government. Gunwalker didn’t do either of those things.

The LSM will ingore this, but the noose is tightning.

Looks like no one is gonna answer for the crimes and murders, that Fast and Furious, made possible.

next year Holder will proudly show the numbers of US guns in Mexico and call for more restrictions.

    Thumb up 0

I’m betting Holder will be out by Jan 1, along with Axelrod, and the Obama WH will continue to implode under the direction of Valerie “Obama’s Brain” Jarret,

To me it is obvious that that’s what it has been since Gore could not steal the 2000 election with laywers – by denying the absentee votes of military members that vote 3 to1 republican, or by cherry picking where to hold a recount, so demcorats could play it, even with the help of the Florida supremes – and the left went fucking bat shit. This one is a double pay back because the community organizer in chief is sticking it to the man. At least I am consoled that the demcoraphics hurting the most are also the ones voting in the largest percentages for these tools.
