It’s about the money & fame!

Stiffler’s mom – Yes, Poosh, I am stealing that – seems to have somethign to gain from claiming Cain harassed her despite her claims to the contrary:

The Cain Encounter …

They hugged each other backstage in a full embrace like old friends.

She grabbed his arm and whispered in his left ear.

She kept talking as he bent to listen, and he kept saying “Uh, huh. Uh, huh.”

Huh?

“I don’t know if what she was giving him was a sucker punch, but he didn’t put his arm down while she was talking to him,” said the Sneed source.

The “he”… is GOP presidential contender Herman Cain, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women.

The “she”… is Chicagoan Sharon Bialek, who held a news conference Tuesday as the only woman to PUBLICLY accuse Cain of sexual harassment.

The Sneed source … is WIND radio co-host Amy Jacobson, who tells Sneed she witnessed the Cain/Bialek encounter a month ago while backstage at the AM 560 WIND sponsored TeaCon meeting in Schaumburg Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center.

Quoth Jacobson: “I had turned on TV to find out who was Cain’s accuser, and I almost fell over when I saw it was Sharon Bialek accusing Cain of groping her genitals.”

One for the MONEY, two for the TIME – 15 minutes of fame – Come on all let’s shout: GOOD TIMES.

Fuck, I am betting that Team blue send Gloria out there to find someone they could offer money to, to come out and claim this shit. In the past this kind of attack would have worked because by the time people found out the truth, the politician in question would have already been destroyed. Thank the powers that be that these tactics no longer seem to work the way they did in the past because people have become so jaded and desensitized to this shit you usually get from the left. That she is hitting the talk show circuit sure as hell tells me she is hoping to cash in. Watch out for the tell all book.

UPDATE: And the other accuser is another white woman that works of all places in the Obama Administration and has a definite leftist bend. Of course, that shouldn’t factor in at all. Right…..

That she is hitting the talk show circuit sure as hell tells me she is hoping to cash in.

So if they stay quiet = clearly it’s all bullshit.
If they don’t stay quiet = they just cashing in.

See the Slate article I linked to. It’s like the author knows you personally.

How convenient. And the other accuser is another white woman that works of all places in the Obama Administration and has a definite leftist bend. Of course, that shouldn’t factor in at all. Right…..

And how about the ones that are Republicans? Should that factor in at all Alex??!

This is an example of just how thick CM is. No ability to use reason.

Is there any point sitting him down, and explaining to him that there’s a difference between being dignified and standing up and making a statement and setting out the ‘facts’, and, someone clearly doing the media circus rounds, picking up the pay-cheques and getting your 15 minutes of fame.

Do we have to explain to him that accusing X of something, via a lawyer, but not saying what exactly, just that it’s bad, and then refusing to talk about it or make a public statement or reveal any documented information – is unfair on X who literally cannot defend himself against such an attack? That literally you can be accused of anything and everything and have no space to defend yourself, other than to deny “it” even though no one has said what “it” is?

If someone accused Obama of, say, plagiarising his work at university, or sexual harrassment, I’d demand the actual facts of the matter, if no details of the plagiary or harassment took place then people need to STUF. Otherwise you have hearsay, chinese whispers and mud sticking to the wall. How can Obama defend himself if the person claiming he stole his work won’t even say which work he stole?

Seems pretty obvious that unless it’s being done exactly how Alex and you want it done, it’s all bullshit. Sorry, but the world doesn’t work like that.
How many of the actual women involved at the moment are doing the “media circus rounds”? Who is picking up the “pay-cheques”? How exactly do anonymous people get 15 minutes of fame?

Do we have to explain to him that accusing X of something, via a lawyer, but not saying what exactly, just that it’s bad, and then refusing to talk about it or make a public statement or reveal any documented information – is unfair on X who literally cannot defend himself against such an attack? And yet YOU’RE the one making accusations of motive without any evidence in your previous paragraph. Nice.

In this paragraph I assume you’re talking about the two women who laid the actual complaints? Do you have evidence that they pushed for their complaints to become public? Because it seems to me that your argument requires that.

If someone accused Obama of, say, plagiarising his work at university, or sexual harrassment, I’d demand the actual facts of the matter,

Good on you. I’ll take your word for it (even though you’ve already made evidence-free accusations of motive in the same post).

if no details of the plagiary or harassment took place then people need to STUF. Otherwise you have hearsay, chinese whispers and mud sticking to the wall.

Wow, I’d love to bring up another topic which you others can’t discuss without relying pretty much entirely on hearsay, chinese whispers and mud throw at walls.

Poosh, you’ve made it obvious again and again recently that you wouldn’t recognise reason if you fell over it. That you’re sticking up for Alex-logic is just the natural progression of that.

I am very capable of harnesses reason and logic, thankyou very much. You fail to even understa, I’ve said this before, I’m really just repeating myself.

You wouldn’t understand if it was explained in a way that your average 5 year old would get the message, because you have no desire to. Quit pretending otherwise, it is insulting.

Ignore all the other inconvenient obvious questions and just answer those.

This is exactly why the arguments such as “it’s about the money and the fame” are weak. How do these women gain from having their lives picked over by the national media, and the Cain campaign in attack mode?

Wrong again CM, If Stifler’s Mom had filed a complaint when it happened, even a police report, then brought it out now, not anonymously, she would have had a lot more credibility.

If… IF the 2 that had severance agreements come out publicly, and all of the papers on why they were fired come out, we can judge, until that time, its all smoke and mirrors.

I’m pretty sure they’d be other factors that would be used to show she’s not credible.

… IF the 2 that had severance agreements come out publicly, and all of the papers on why they were fired come out, we can judge, until that time, its all smoke and mirrors.

Yeah, five lots of smoke mirrors. So far. That’s five separate cases where the complainant and/or witnesses were/are lying. Incredible bad luck. Or incredible skill from The Democratic And Mainstream Media Machine. Must have taken a shitload of planning, even managing to bring in Republican voters (still waiting to hear Alex’s narrative on that one – should be even more creative than usual).

Cain has obviously done enough for you guys to earn such a huge amount of goodwill that you’re happy to continue to extend the benefit of the doubt this far. What exactly did he do to earn it? I could be cynical and say it’s because he’s the leading Republican candidate, but that would just be offensive.

Also, it’s pretty ironic that this women is being referred to as Stifler’s Mom. You know, considering the issue is (to a large extent) about respect for women……..
In a case of potential sexual harrassment, a person who says she has been sexually harrassed/abused is immediately identified in a sexual way. It’s no real wonder so many people make light of the issue. They don’t even really see it as an issue.

Yeah, I know it’s a joke, but it’s still rather telling.

CM, you know how you like to pretend you never make the mistakes of hyperbole that you rail against in others? If not, well, everyfuckingbody else sure does.

    Anyway…

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever heard of the McMartin Preschool case? Before you hitch your wagon to this Cain train. you might want to wait and see what happens. It is in fact NOT impossible that there is a feeding frenzy around Cain. Just like it’s not impossible that he’s a bit of a dick and inappropriately hits on women and may have assaulted one.

    Thumb up 0

  13. CM

I don’t consider that I’ve hitched my wagon to any train. Hitching a wagon to a train (“It’s all about money and fame” “she’s a white woman with a leftist bent!” “these are all just tactics”) is precisely what I’m talking about.

Not really sure what your hyperbole comment is about. When I use it, it’s invariably to mock people.

I completely agree that it’s not impossible. But it’s reached the stage now where it’s unlikely. I mean, that’s pretty obvious isn’t it? it’s reaching one of those situations where a whole lot of things have to fall into place (the cliched old court-room drama scene where the person on the stand is made to admit that “Yes, ok, it IS possible” because the defence has nothing else) left) for him to be not to blame for any of this.

If people were to simply acknowledge that it looks like he’s a bit of a dick and inappropriately hits on women and at least one may have had rights to complain (about harrassment or assualt) then cool. But that’s not what’s happening.

I’ll look up that McMartin Preschool case. It does ring a bell.
