A Jobs Bill By Any Other Name

The urgency president advised the nation last week that we don’t have the luxury of action by ballot box, that folks are hurting now and relief in the form of his momentous jobs bill could be had if only congress would {all together now, in unison} ,”Pass this bill now!!!!”. With his usual finger dagger thrusts into the air and a stern look of audacity, his call for action could not have been clearer. So with the speech over, it is now time for that action, time to introduce the bill that will save the country, too bad the urgency president can lapse at the drop of a hat back to the more comfortable dithering president.

President Obama repeatedly asked members of Congress to pass the American Jobs Act last week. But when no Democrat filed Obama’s bill after he presented it to Congress, a conservative congressman swiped the name for his own legislation.

The American Jobs Act introduced in the House of Representatives looks quite different from the version President Obama outlined in his speech to Congress. Instead of hiking taxes on working Americans to pay for another stimulus, Rep. Louie Gohmert’s (R-TX) legislation offers a tax cut.

Funny how with a bill only 2 pages long, something even I could read in one sitting, there is little need for a drum roll build up, it just gets done.

Rep. Gohmert’s bill is a bit different from what we heard last Thur’s night, he want’s the corporate tax rated lowered to {now we get the drum roll}…..ZERO percent, that’s it, the essence of simplicity. Nor does he waste precious space explaining how he wants to pay for this, who cares? it is a jobs bill not a deficit reduction bill, jobs first, the credit cards can wait.

And stealing Obama’s tag ,”The American Jobs Act”, you nooze-you loose, the early bird catches the worm, the first guy to finish line, and if you can tweak the opposition in the process, how sweet was that?

This bill has about as much chance of becoming law as Obama’s ramblings( in it’s presented form) on his job proposal, but I like the move, both in gravitas and insult.

The latest bit of WTF to come out of Obama is that we’ll pass the jobs bill if “love him”…

Think about that for a bit – the president wants (needs?) the nation to “love him”…..

Game over dude, just fucking leave already……

    Thumb up 0

It is kinda funny to me (reading your posts and all) America needs both state employee geniuses like you and copy and paste private employees willing to pay for you to have it better than anyone else.

Your disdain for the people actually footing the bill for your lifestyle is more than disturbing, it’s borderline sociopathic. Does a state employee give half a fuck about a jobs bill? They can’t even get fired, so why would you, or any spoiled brat care about what happens to the people who support your lifestyle?
